[News] Bill Belichick, Tom Brady On What Makes Ravens Defense So Good

18 posts in this topic

Ravens Defense is solid, but am not sure if they can stop Brady and the Pats. Dallas, and Oakland were good examples. Hopefully we go there and bring back the W. GO RAVENS.

Also we beat ourselves with penalties that game. And if you look at the oak game, if the coaches run the ball once or twice in the last 4 possessions, Tucker could have won that game for us.

I trust out Defense will keep us in this game against the pats. It will be on Joe and the Oline to perform like they did the past week.

IMO your are way over rating Jimmy Smith's abilities. Can you tell me why he is not one of the higher rated corners on PFF???? The answer is because they look at every play and analyze how the coverage was not just the plays where the ball was thrown his way. IMO, he is no where near a top cover corner ...

He's close enough. Give credit where credit is do. What makes you think that PFF is always right.

Oakland and Dallas both have good offensive lines the Patriots are pretty shaky. But both of those games, both teams still have trouble running the football against us so they still struggle and plus we could've won both of those games.

2 examples of why the Ravens have a favorable shot in this one; The Patriots 2 losses were against the Seahawks and the Bills, and the next best defense they probably faced was Pittsberg, who had a bad game that day. The Patsies have only faced 3 teams with over 500 records , Seahawks, Dolphins and Steelers. I wouldn't tell them outloud, but if the Ravens show up to play like we know they can, ie this past Sunday, Our Ravens very well will be the the best team that the Patriots have faced all season. Go Ravens!

Agreed, We have to keep all phases moving. The Patriots have given up points this year. Sure they score, but look at the Defenses they have played against. I think we match up well and agree, play our game, move the ball quick, jam it down their throats just like we did last week! That is our game. Power the football down the field!

it's not just about jimmy's pure ability, it's about the replacement level behind him and the gap between jimmy and shareece and all the problems with scheme that creates

jimmy is definitely a good corner - on the cusp of pro bowl level for certain although i will hesitate to put him in the top 8-9 eschelon because those guys dare you to throw and still get picks etc. but he's a significant contributor who plays solid shutdown football and allows the safeties to swing across

not saying we would have won anyway, but just pointing out that if jimmy covers dez tighter and taller then maybe he doesnt catch that touchdown etc. and it allows the safeties to shade towards cole beasley and jason witten and cut off more weapons

its the domino effect rather than him being an individual playmaker that makes people think the way they do

If Aiken catches the ball that bounces off the numbers on his chest then Tucker wins the game for us......

The pats respect the Ravens Defense so much gotta look for trick plays! They will try to use that aggressiveness against them gotta play smart! Not everyone strait to the ball stick to your man! Because they've done this before!

That was a nice way for BB and his QB to say they are sweating this game and struggling to find holes in our D. I may be a little over confident this week but, I feel we go up there and handle our business.

Brady and BB love to praise their opponents. I swear it's just psychological warfare.

Yup, soften the opponent with compliments rather than awaken the beast. That's the theory at least

Pressure up the middle, and the first tackler can't miss on those dink and dunk passes Brady loves to throw. Stay with that quick rhythm on offense. Let's hope the zebras don't hurt us too bad...
