Merged Major Media Complaints

61 posts in this topic

True to form, the day after the Ravens diced up the team that pundits were comparing them to, NOT ONE single statement about the game on the website. Nothing about Flacco and the offense awesome play, nothing about the defense hammering the Dolphins......you would think the Ravens were on a bye week. However, there are multiple articles about the Steelers beating the Giants at home with headlines like "Iron resolve" . Shame NFL.com! This is the league's news outlet, kind of makes you wonder if the "league favors certain teams" guys got it right. SMH I know I should ignore it, but....that's just wrong!  GO RAVENS!

They won't be able to if we win next week on MNF

Exactly. Next week is the statement game with all eyes on us. Esp in foxborough. Beat them in primetime and they will be forced to recognize us. I can already hear the pats fans saying "its only BC we didn't have gronk"

Kinda like a lot of us after the cowboys game saying its only BC we didn't have jimmy. Lol goes both ways.

we had a chance to put everybody on notice,That  Dallas game slipped away,

I will gladly trade that Dallas game for this game against the NFL's golden boy " Brady "

NE is wounded, we know how to play them and PITT,

if the stars align we can really make some noise

NE - RAVENS, at denver jets , at miami 11-5

Pitt - at bills at cincy RAVENS browns  8 to 9 wins

Denver -  at tenn, pats, at kc,da raiders  9-7

can we win out, this is the question?

Don't see NE falling to 11-5.  Even if we beat them, I can't see them losing more than one other game, which means 12-4 at worst.--obviously I would love to be wrong and see them drop more, but not seeing that happening

For Pitt, I see 9-10 wins.  Again, even if we beat them, I can't see them losing more than one other (most likely next week at a desperate Bills team)--obviously I would love to be wrong and see them drop more, but not seeing that happening

Denver could definitely fall to 9-7 or 10-6 with that schedule left.

i love feeling like an underdog and that the world is against us but the nfl hasnt really snubbed us this week - in fact chris wesselling (the guy who wrote up the ravens game this week) throughout this year has essentially been legitimising all of this forum's claims this year - like the lack of backing the run game, flacco's inconsistent play, the strong defensive play, even acknowledging major injuries affecting results

the only difference this week is that we looked convincing - execution changed not philosophy so if im being brutally honest so there's no reason to suddenly back off criticising the lack of a run game etc. because that didn't change

and if anything the lack of coverage is more likely to do with how useless and irrelevant the ravens made the dolphins look (as a ravens fan im used to the nfl overhyping the steelers so i never take extra coverage of the steelers over us as indictment of the ravens more just the pandering to the bigger markets)

To add to it The NFL instagram always has have a day pictures to players who perform every week and Stafford and Dalton got both of them while both of them under performed Joe weird I love the underdog feel but it's like when things are bad we get criticized to no end but when things are good it's like it all should be swept under the rug

The league does favor certain teams.  just look at how many SNF games the Cowboys get annually, but at the same time, some teams bring in more money than others.  it is what it is.  This team put themselves in the position to not get recognition, but can also change that.  Most fans don't know what they want.  I hear people complain about the lack of respect, but then when we're favorites, everyone claims they would rather us be the underdog.

look at the bears as well - they had something like 3-4 primetime games already this year at one point even two weeks in a row and they are worthless

I'm sorry but, if you are concerned by the amount of national media coverage the Ravens get, then you're in for a boatload of disappointment. I personally could care less what the national media says or doesn't say about us. They are only interested in clicks and they'll always follow the bigger market teams to get them.

No these guys are in Pats and Steelers pockets if we beat NE Gronk and Amendola are out Brady Had a hangnail or some excuse to downplay us that is what they do. Like in preseason ranking the QB/RB/WR and they had Steelers at 1 even though we beat them with Mallett/Allen/Aiken just get used to the disrespect and bias. Chris Berman is the only member of the media that sings our praise.

be honest - roethlisberger, bell and brown are probably the best offensive trio in the league and at the beginning of the season we didnt even know who our rb1 and wr1 were going to be because of injuries among other things - if that is what you're gonna complain about then you're gonna be disappointed

My question is why were Flacco/Forsett/Smith ranked 29th in the league bias. A Superbowl MVP is at the bottom of the list behind guys like Bradford/Smith/Bortles/Siemien/Osweiler come on man. I get it and I love the undergo roll but it is nauseating to listen to how great Pitt and NE are

Because one is inconsistent in the regular season. One had one good season in his career and one was coming off a major injury and is 37.

because osweiler hadnt shown how crap he was yet (and had two very good looking skill players), bortles had been great last season and had a good looking rb and wr etc. etc. im not gonna bother doing it with all of them

it's not just about the qb in those rankings and tbh the ravens should have been pretty low down... qb coming back off major surgery/injury and hadnt looked good even before the injury, a 37 yr old wr who was also coming back of a season ending injury and had nearly retired, and a rb who showed one good season his entire career, was coming off a season ending injury and also was evidently not that amazing given that he got cut early in the season

and let's be honest, until this week our offense was probably bad enough to be considered 29th best in general anyway

most would say that they got that decision pretty accurately right given the state of things

Another foolish post. I'm happy we beat Pittsburgh but that game is irrelevant to what you whined about.

Youre just looking to whine and then complain when it's revealed you don't have a legitimate reason. If you truly only cared about scoreboard then you wouldn't have ever started off with your original whining post

if anything i've been happier this year with the ravens coverage by nfl.com than any other year since i started following the ravens - in some cases they have been more optimistic about this team than most these boards and me at times

It's game dependent. This game had more highlight plays than last week so it's going to get more mentions.

I agree, I am very used to it, I've watched the least amount of coverage ever this year for me. Ironically, this is the year the Cowboys do deserve the coverage and hype, it just bothers me when we were killing it from 2008-12 we got nothing while they routinely missed the playoffs and received so much coverage.

I'm used to it,all those QBs they like to put over Flacco don't even last 5 years in the league sometimes, I remember Freeman being one.

You didn't bother reading the very next post did you? So again 3 articles on the Ravens win means your posts are just full of ignorance

after all you posted today that there were no articles and yet I showed 3 posted including the ones you want to dismiss as posted today.
