Whelp, since I've already lost since I won't be able to watch the game, I'm going to throw out a wishful thinking score prediction because I might as well push all the chips into the center of that table and go all in.

34-16 Ravens

Front 7 stops their run game in it's tracks, Blount/Lewis can't do anything all game. Secondary shuts down their "meh" receiving corps. Hacksaw Smithers always plays his best against the Pats, throw 2 sacks his way, another to Jernigan and Doom. Brady is gonna have to beat us with his arm, something he's obviously capable of doing, but I don't think he will, we don't have a Rashaan Melvin for him to pick on anymore and no Gronk to create a glaring mismatch. Oline will continue to perform well above their capabilities, Lewis practiced but there's no way he's available for the game, we can be happy to have him back in a week or two, we won't rush him back especially if the line continues to play well. We continue with what we did against Miami and go for the quick release plays over the middle early and often, Pitta has another great game working the middle, Wallace gets a long TD and inches closer to that 1000 yard mark (only 149 away). Cool January Joe confirms that he's shown up early this year, picks apart Pats' secondary, then we start smashing the middle with West and swing throws to Dixon. Ravens confirmed SB contender.

Up 31-6 going into the 4th and they put on 10 pts against Pees' favorite prevent D, but our remaining FG drive drains the clock too much for them to put up any more than 10.

As I'm writing this I'm listening to "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, my frame of mind is not compromised in any way.

Agreed! Dude does a better job hyping the game up than the ads I see on TV. Salute to you, @FlocksGottaFeed.

This is a must win. Steelers are about to win onot of the games they have next.

As long as the Ravens beat the Steelers it does not matter which of the other 3 games they lose but they can afford to lose 1 and still win the division.  The most likely scenario is though that the Christmas game will decide the division and that either Cini or NE will be one loss meaning it will come down to tiebreakers which the Ravens will have (to be clear the Ravens have the tiebreaker over the Steelers in every possible scenario even if they beat the Ravens but lose one other game and the Ravens win the other 3).

Basically this is a game that is NICE to win for seeding purposes (I would not rule out the Ravens for a bye if they can run the table since the AFC West is about to beat up on each other for the next few weeks) but other than that its a nice game to win and nothing more.

apparently alex lewis started practicing today in a limited capacity - if so then he's way ahead of schedule and no wonder he hasnt been put on i/r

It's good to see Lewis back but wasn't there a report that said if Yanda couldn't make the move to LG then he would be put on IR? I think Yanda is pretty much at LG exclusively now and they have no plans to move him. Lewis looks like a back up LG/LT at the moment.

watching our divisional round game vs the patriots, and all i can think is why does our offense not look like this anymore? i would love to see us continue playing like we did vs miami, but that kubiak offense was special. owen daniels was usually the primary target on those bootleg misdirection plays that we executed so well when he was here, MAN those would be LETHAL with the speed we have now, why dont we even try that stuff? joe did well on boots, he stayed deep behind the line, he surveyed well, and he didnt roll out too far and cut the playing field in half.

if he could run that offense with owen daniels as his primary target on bootlegs, id love to see him do it with the intent of getting perriman the ball in space.

Maybe we are keeping plays like that up our sleeve for when its truly do or die?

I may be a little optimistic but, I really am not seeing this game as being too difficult. I mean we are facing a beat up NE team with two of their best ballers out in Gronk and Amendola. Bennett is playing injured and has done very little recently. That leaves Edelman, Hogan, Mitchell and their RB's which I feel we can hang with. As well, I doubt they gash us running the ball.

Really, who has NE beaten this year that would make us sweat this game. They play in one of the weakest divisions where they have little competition. Outside of that, they beat the Cards, Texans, Rams, 49ers, Browns, Cincy, and the Steelers without Ben. Their loses have come against the Bills and Seattle, both in NE.

As long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with busted coverages, stupid penalties, dropped passes or missed blocks, I like our chances.

Malcolm Mitchell and Chris Hogan are very good playmakers and are quickly on the rise for us.. as we have a type of offense that doesn't focus on receiver numbers like other offenses do.. ours is about match ups and opportunities and our receiving corps his highly intelligent, buys into the system, and masterful route runners with strong hands in traffic and fantastic chemistry with Tom Brady... but again outside of Gronk we dont really advertise our weapons... Dion Lewis is getting healthy and starting to look like he did last season.. and James White.. both guys are excellent receivers out of the backfield that we feel can beat most if not all linebackers... and Bennett, he has been underachieving yes, but he has a switch and when it goes off he is as good as anyone in the league at the TE position, we just need it to go off... so the threat is still there.. not to mention Edelman one of the leagues best in the slot and Blount who is having a career season.. and last but not least Tom Brady, physically in better shape than what he has ever been in.. .. dont get me wrong I respect you guys and this is fun football debate between sports fans (doesn't have to be serious, its pure fun we all love the game) but please recognize that we have plenty of weapons still with the two best ever calling the shots.... I assure you as great as your defense is.. I know it, and you know it if you play like you have before the Miami game and not your best it will be a long night.. just the way it is... reason why we are 10-2 and the number 1 seed... good luck and enjoy the game!

Depends on the matchups. I would expect Jimmy to cover Bennett if they split him out wide. Powers\Wright are going to get somebody unless they bring webb into slot and Elam at FS. I almost like the latter more. I don't think powers\wright could keep up.

If Brady is given time, we need to cover Hogan, as he flat out flies. In Buffalo he was was given the nickname "7-11" as he is open all the time. Mitchell looks like the Pats finally scored a receiver in the Draft. We can't sleep on him, either. However if we are applying pressure on Brady, he will make quick, short passes to Edelman and the lightning fast RB White. I just hope Pees has this all figured out, as Bennett seems to be the lesser threat with his recent injuries.

I think if the Steelers lose, the Ravens become a bit more scarier. I know if I were neck and neck with someone and they happened to slip up, I'd feel like I had some breathing room and would take more chances. Thats not to say they won't, but I'm sure it would be a nice feeling for the team heading into Monday night.

@football knowledge

I meant no offense and none was taken. With that said, I won't say this is a easy win because it isn't. What i said and will continue to say is that I don't feel it will be overly difficult, meaning I don't expect us to struggle. I admit that I've viewed a few of your games this year, and I don't recall seeing much production out of Hogan and Mitchell during those games. My understanding is that Mitchell has only recently had some success. Most of the plays I've seen went to Gronk, Amendola, Edelman, Bennett and Your RB's. You guys are hurting presently with some of your top weapons out or playing injured which does give us a slight advantage.

I have no problem in acknowledging that BB and his QB are the greatest of this era and it's mainly because they work so well with each other. Except against the Ravens, your QB has historically struggled somewhat throwing 10 TD's to 10 picks with 2 fumbles and Flacco is enjoying a 16 TD's to 8 Picks advantage in our games to date. No doubt, the Ravens always get up to play the Pats but history rarely determines outcomes in future games.

You should be able to admit as well that your competition this year has been soft for the most part, with the exception of Seattle to date. That's why you are 10-2 and the #1 seed.

I will wish you luck as well as we expect it to be one hell of a battle.

No question it would provide for a huge incentive. Not to say that they won't be up for the game anyway(prime time Monday night, cheaters, etc.), but knowing how much the win would mean to playoff hopes after a steelers loss would be an extra kick.

Hopefully the Bills play them much tougher than the Giants did last week.

Speaking of that game and Owen Daniels, if ONLY he was able to haul that would-be TD catch in. Game would've been tied at 35 and Playoff Flacco would have the ball last to march down the field to set up the GW FG.

*sighs*

I got it as a comp this year and with most of the Ravens games at 1:00 I've hardly watched it.  Years ago though when our local didn't show the Ravens games it was invaluable.

It's definitely not cheap.  I live in the DC area and a couple games are typically not shown per year.  Plus I'm able to watch any game I want in the other time slot.  Agree it isn't cheap.

I've had it discounted for a couple years and when I started with Directv it was comped as well.  This is the first year I'm paying full price. :(

Yeah, I've had DTV for 13 years. Before A T and T they gave a renewal discount. I was at the end of my contract earlier in the fall and they gave it to me to re up. But like I said, it's pretty much been useless this year. There's only been one game(first Browns I think?) when the Skins were playing an AFC team at 1:00 where we didn't get the Ravens. And I love to watch the other teams play but all but a couple are at 1:00. Oh well......

Eh Sunday ticket is a double edged sword. If you're in the Baltimore area or even close its useless. I'm out in KC so I have to have it, or go to a bar. Now the downfall is, Thursday and Monday and even Sunday night games aren't covered or apart of the programming. So like the Browns game I still had to go to BWW, just like I will for this Monday game. Unless of course I want to pay for full cable to include the NFL network, but than it begs to question What the heck? do I pay 150 bucks for?

More and more people are dumping cable, I mean honestly who wants to deal with Comcast? Or out here TimeWarner Cable. Yay lemme pay another 160 bucks a month for the whopping 4 or 5 channels I actually watch! We dumped them. I have a Roku on one TV and a Amazon Firestick on the other. And with a jailbroken firestick you can watch nearly anything you want. And all thru free Google Fiber internet. We still pay for Hulu and Netflix on the Roku along with for the tablets to watch anywhere. But total monthly bill. 19 bucks. Why would anyone pay Comcast 200 or more?
