now i hate the pats as much as any ravens fan but we need to give it a rest on most of this cheating stuff - every team cheats, the pats just cheat and win a lot more than other teams - in fact what they do better (see more effectively) than any other team is testing the boundaries of what's legal and sometimes they get caught and it becomes a big deal - but every other nfl franchise does or has cheated

Haha!  Where did you find that link? On a NE website? What crap!  Did you read any of it?

Don't kid yourself. While all teams try to bend the rules at times NO TEAM has ever gone to the lengths that NE has to cheat.

im aware its biased but if you take away the opinions on each of the instances and just that the specific instances exist at all, it makes an interesting picture

I'm pretty sure that site's owned and operated by Cheetahs fans. I member one of the examples was Joe joking about tackling a punt returner on the last play of our Super Bowl win. I hear he also shot Lincoln, Kennedy and Harambe.

And to think we have the nerve to call out Brady.

I won't go into the specific pieces of horse crap that are described, but there's a bit more there than just a bias. It's twisted rationalization to again bend the truth. Just a cheap attempt to try to justify the culture of cheating and lying that is the "patriot way".  It never ceases to amaze me how their fans buy into it.

Don't know anything about WR Griff Whalen, but the Pats just signed him to help fill the void left by Edelman being out.

http://www.espn.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4798346/patriots-and-wr-griff-whalen-agree-on-a-1-year-contract

Not too worried about him especially with this being his first game really. I'm worried about what Edelman does sometimes and then Hogan has had a fantastic year. If the Ravens can hold Blount to under 4 yards a carry and can contain those guys the Ravens really have a shot of running away with this one. The Patriots are banged up and the Ravens are one of the healthiest teams right now.

Thanks.  Can't believe I did that!...must be the lack of sleep with a 2 yr. old and a 1 yr. old.  Anyways, I edited my original post to avoid confusion.

I tell you, it is weird. I know there are lot of people who don't think our team gets much national love and I can tend to agree with them somewhat.

After the beatdown we gave Miami and the way Joe looked has gotten a lot of buzz this week. On sports radio - even on ESPN with Mike and Mike, people are talking about how Joe looked like he did on the super bowl run and that our D is legit.  We are starting to become a fashionable dark horse pick to make some noise in the playoffs.

Let's just hold on ... we have to get to the playoffs first and the road to get there isn't exactly easy. And with respect to this game, there is a lot of talk on how we're not afraid of NE and how we play well against them, even up in Foxboro. Well, you know this is a battle cry for the Pats to come out and give us an A game. Get ready for some new crazy wrinkle that the evil genius will throw at us.

It is a double edge sword. We like to see our team get respected, but there is a degree of challenge in living up to it.

GO RAVENS!

Cant it just be Monday already??????

Well, there is Sunday and the great thing about being in playoff contention is that there are multiple games worth watching. Obviously PIT v. BUF. I'd throw in ARI v. MIA and DEN v. TEN. I'll be looking at those to keep my mind off Monday Night until game day.

I mean they're really not going to that great of lengths though.

They videotaped some practices and a ball boy deflated some footballs. That's not really going to great lengths on anything.

You have to admit that at times we come across as somewhat hypocritical though in regards to the Patriots. Not so much in the "cheating" category, but there's a lot of fans on here who still bash them for "massaging the rules" in terms of the odd formations in the playoff game recently, and yet we sent 10 guys out there to intentionally commit penalties in order to run out the clock.

Like them, we basically alerted the public to a variation of a rule that meets our benefit, the variation makes very little sense whatsoever, and will likely be made illegal going forward.

And Harambe got a bad rap. He's worth way more to society than a lot of people walking around in it.

Maybe that's why he got 11,000 votes in the election

LOL, that's kind of how society's work. I'm not really big on the whole judging based on "might have, could have, probably did but didn't get caught, I don't really know if they did but I don't like them so I'm going to think they did" mentality. I'm far too educated to buy into that kind of nonsense.

Things like facts and evidence are kind of a big deal...

Apologies but just catching up on all this "Deflategate" stuff.  So basically what we and the NFL are saying is that the New England Patriots QB Brady is a cheat and thats what the Ravens are up against, cheats. Disgusting in my opinion.  I would have expected better.

Agreed about getting into the playoffs first.  If we had one more win or were up a full game in the division I'd understand the dark horse in the playoffs talk a bit more.  But just getting into the 2016 playoffs is going to be very tough task based on our schedule.

I know we are all jacked about our game against Miami.  But this is the Baltimore Ravens we are talking about.  Even in some of our best seasons we find ways to have complete stinkers of games and play to the level of the competition.  Wins against the Eagles and Bengals aren't guaranteed.

A win Monday night would go a loooooong way.  In both cementing our changes of making the playoffs and the damage we could do.  I'd love nothing more than to be the hot team going into the playoffs.

That's what they've officially been punished for.  Not to mention, Spygate was most likely much worse than was proven because there is HUGE evidence that the NFL covered up a lot of it.

http://deadspin.com/bombshell-espn-report-the-patriots-were-huge-cheaters-1729286402

At least 5 teams have reported suspected foul play by the Patriots involving headsets

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/11/at-least-five-teams-have-suspected-patriots-of-headset-tampering/

Not to mention Peyton Manning, one of the smartest NFL quarterbacks...suspected the Patriots had the locker room bugged.

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/08/peyton-mannning-patriots-bugged-the-visitors-locker-room-at-gillette-stadium

I firmly believe the Patriots are the BIGGEST CHEATS in all of sports.  This is why I'd rather lose to the Steelers than the Patriots.  I can't stand the Steelers, but I respect them (at least a little)  I have NOOOO respect for the Patriots and if Goodell and the NFL had a backbone, I think the Patriots would have been caught and punished many more times.  Seattle may have the 12th man, but the Cheaters probably have about 20!

I believe in bigfoot. I mean, anyone can believe what they want, but there isn't really any basis of that. they've been caught twice.  You really think there isn't teams that do far more shady stuff that haven't been caught.  Hell, if I was a billionaire id hire spies to go work for other companies.

That was a team with no oline, no secondary outsideof Jimmy Smith, and only one weapon(Torrey who wasn't that great) with a hobbled Joe Flacco if you also remember that game. It was right after the Lions game where Flacco got hurt.

Also, our game was really killed on two relatively flukey deflected interceptions.  The first one was a deep pass to Jacoby Jones that a linebacker jump up and got a hand on, batting it up high and it was on a path where Jacoby could have caught it anyway, but the corner came and pushed him over and intercepted it instead (not DPI for the push because the ball had been touched by the linebacker already, but Jacoby had bad balance on this play so he didn't make the play).  The other one was a short pass to Pitta that bounced off his extended hands right into the hands of a defender.  Then we had a 37 yard field goal missed by Tucker at home.  It was just an "everything that can go wrong will go wrong" kind of game.  After too many blunders led us to being down 3 scores with only a couple minutes to go, we pulled Flacco (who entered the game with a sprained MCL and was really off all day long due to the injury affecting his ability to step into a throw) for his own safety and put in Tyrod, who wasn't able to catch an off-target snap from Gino Gradkowski on the first play he had, which was recovered in the end zone for a TD by the Patriots.  Then on the ensuing drive, Tyrod threw a really bad pick 6, and in the span of a few plays suddenly we went from being down 27-7 and it looking like a poor day to being down 41-7 and it being a downright embarrassing day.

Don't want to spend too much time on this subject, but someone posted that website, yourteamcheats, which really doesn't deserve the popularity it received, here we go:

1. Created by a Boston sports fan after the Deflate Gate fallout

2. Gives other teams a higher severity rating for Spygate and DeflateGate than what the Patriots got for those offenses

3. Gives the Ravens and Bengals a higher severity rating for Deflate Gate than they got because Jeff Blake, a former QB for both teams, was quoted as saying I liked to try to deflate my footballs too. Patriot fans btw, still cannot grasp the difference between bringing illegal balls into an inspection than having to re-inflate/deflate (Depending on preference) versus bringing in legal balls into the inspection and then going into a bathroom afterwards and deflating them below the threshold. When they quote Jeff Blake and Aaron Rodgers they are missing this point, kind of a joke.

4. They give the Ravens a few stars for cheating because Joe Flacco said tackle Ted Ginn in the Super Bowl in case he breaks the final kickoff.

I'll let you guys decide.......

Alex Lewis practicing today for first time in 4 weeks.  Don't think he'll play vs. Pats, but very good sign moving forward.

The question here is... when he returns, what position does he play?

Based on everything I've read, Yanda moving to LG is permanent for the rest of the season, as I'm not sure he will be healthy enough this year to play RG anymore. By several accounts, moving to LG is what kept him off of IR.

Knowing that, it would seem that Lewis' only position he could play is RG, which I don't believe is a position he's played yet. Not to say he couldn't, but with Duscasse playing OK and the continuity of the line seemingly being a key difference, one would question whether he would return to a starting role at all.
