Week 13 Dolphins edition: The Good, Bad, Ugly, Vent/Discussion

240 posts in this topic

Was there any news about a different brace or anything for Joe? Missed game today and just saw highlights on app and he seemed to have his normal burst back and he wasn't taking quite as long awkward strides it seemed..

maybe just a confidence thing cause the offense started out great idk.. just seemed different to me

No it wouldn't.othe I agreed with you that it has to sustain afterwards to be a breakout day, otherwise it's just a blip on the radar.

That's what I'm saying...:D

The Good- Joe and the Gang bringing a Fillet knife to the game

The Bad- the Dolphins lack of fight

The Ugly - The commentators calling West Dixon.....

In addition to the consistent, disciplined, players´execution I would praise the coordinators. I´m not a Pees fan but he couldn´t adapt to this game any beter, Props to my boy Marty´, too, for listening to my pre-game hints :D

I´m pretty confident in the next game. NE D ain´t the same without J.Collins and C.Jones. Plus, Rob´s injury will limit their passing game to Bennett and a few slot guys, which means more men in the box for us. It should all work to our advantage.

One Ugly - can be easily taken care of and should be, totally unnecessary and it's coming from some of our supposed leaders.

The personal fouls, taunting, hands to the face.

Jernigan with the taunting and Steve Smith last week with the personal foul and this week with the hands to the face - we just need to be smart - play hard within the rules, between the whistles.

Steve Smith tough guy act can wear a little thin if he's picking up penalties every week

The Good: Flacco given time in the pocket was throwing bullets.

The awesome: Perrimen long catch and run for a TD. Reminded me of Irving from size. speed and form.

The bad: We still need to get to the QB faster to help out our corners.

Was one of those games where you are elated from start to finish. The offense looked like it is getting into form at the perfect time. The Steelers won a huge game and Cincy looked good as well so we need to be at our best when we play them.

Hence why we need another good press corner. Another pass rusher would be smart too.

Both would be nice. No I take that back, both are needed badly.

Oh yea? That's awesome.

Yep. They were going to put Yanda on IR, but he convinced them to move him to the other side so his good shoulder could protect against the inside rush better.

Flacco was great. Offense clearly determined not to let up at any point. Flacco was very decisive...very accurate and wholly involved.

Webb with terrific interception.

Our tackles.....Stanley was good...this guy is legit but Wagner was even better.

Puzzled as to how on God's blue earth it was that Miami won six straight games.....an awful and disorganized secondary. May as well have been ten guys out there

Not sure why dolphin defenders celebrate a big hit after giving up ten yards for a first down while all the while being down three scores.

Can't turn the ball over in opposition red zone and expect to win most weeks.

Like to see the run game be something we can use to put teams away post season.

Good win but I think a little overrated. Our offense didn't really change for this game. It was still alot of the west coast short stuff that was turned into longer gains. Didn't see many passes travel over 15 yards in the air. The short passing game has been installed as an extension of the running game. The dolphins linebackers got exposed all game long. They adjusted a bit after halftime with a scoreless third quarter but we got to them in the 4th. Not going to be this easy in Foxborough.

The offensive line today was awesome, other than 2 stupid penalties on Ducasse they did great work. Joe was accurate as well except for the int which was a dumb decision.

We need to find another punt return guy. Hester gives us no hope of a td and simply looks timid.

A lot of crow eating going on up in here! Our coach is good our QB is good and our team is good! We expect excellence because we have been getting excellence. Every day is not Christmas though. Lets get behind our Ravens and be the best fans in the game win, loose or draw! We have them Pats next and I expect a hell of a good game since we are one of the few teams that go up there and give the Pats fits. LET GOOOO RAVENS!!!!!

No need to take deep shots when the short game is working. You use the deep ball to keep defenses honest when they are successfully shutting down your short game or blitzing heavy. There was nothing overrated about yesterday's performance, we finally gave Joe good protection and he absolutely lit up the dolphins. He was money all day. We played like a SB caliber team.

Did anyone see on the Red Zone channel that Perriman was clocked at over 20 mph, the fastest of the day.

Craziest part is it didn't even seem like he was at top speed... seemed effortless

GOOD

pretty much the whole team. FINALLY a distinctive victory where we were clicking in all 3 phases all game long. We needed this just for a confidence boost- and it couldn't have come at a better time to start off December. Just wish I could've been there. Evidentially don't call Marty conservative bc he will take it personal and just open up a can of tuna and go to town. He was just letting Joe sling that thing. We just kept passing and passing and I was wondering if he would feel the pressure to run it just to stay balanced but he stayed with what was working- and I commend him for that. Forget what people will say or think- stick with what's working. On the first drive when we got down inside the 3 I immediately knew what the play was going to be..the defense probably expected a run but I called it as soon as i saw the formation that they were going to throw a little out route to either juice or west- and it was the perfect call. Webbs interception was awesome- weddles runback was awesome- the pitta party was awesome- the o line just dominated- perriman finally got to show off his gazelle like speed and found the endzone again- tavon balled out again ( his injury scared ne for a bit but was super relieved he returned)- judon notched another sack under his belt- and even in their limited carries the running game was respectable and showed more flashes. Was hoping dixon would get his first score and got excited when the announcer called out his name on that last td, but it turns out it was west.( he got them mixed up alot) but oh well itll come. Oh yeah- and tucker boots another 55 yarder right before the end of the half to really drive a stake in their blowhole. No suprise here- just tucker being tucker.

BAD

Im really knitpicking here- but there were a few things that stood out to me. Jernigans taunting penalty along with steves penalty- stuff like that is just uncalled for. You KNOW your gonna get called for it so why are you hurting your team? Luckily we kept the foot on the gas and nothing hurt us this game- but on another day either one of those could completely shift the momentum.

Chris Moore- this guy has really become a big disappointment for me. He's literally contributed nothing on offense- and once again has a few more drops. I keep waiting for him to bust out with a good game or even a good play and its just not happening. I realize hes pretty much last in the pecking order but you still have to make the most of your oppurtunities. Still hoping he breaks out sooner or later bc i know he has talent but at this point i think id rather have campanaro out there who will atleast provide another weapon to move the chains.

Pittas fumble was bad just bc it ruined the goose egg but he gets a pass after the game he had - and the game was pretty much over. Plus it was pretty hard to tell whether his knee was actually down or not. No big deal.

koch also uncharacteristically shanked a punt. Again I'm knit picking- he's been lights out all year.

UGLY

Tannehill- pretty much the entire dolphins team.  Either they just didnt show up or we just showed out..either way I'll take it. On to New England.

From somebody who ran track in college, Perriman may be the fastest person in the league currently. My eyes about popped out of my head watching how quickly he accelerated after catching the ball. He looks like he is plodding because his stride is silly efficient and he relaxes his upper body for maximum efficiency (i.e. No misused energy). Watch Usain Bolt run and tell me Perriman doesn't look similar. When Bolt runs you might think he's going slow because his legs don't look like they are moving that fast until you remember how tall he is and see how quickly he leaves very fast people behind. Perriman made those guys yesterday look like they took bad angles. They didn't. The kid is that quick.

i just imagine perriman feeling like some cheetah being released from captivity and finally being able to stretch his legs - how good must he have felt when he caught that ball and was finally able to stretch his legs and sprint through that gap of 3 defenders all the way into the endzone

i like to think that he knew he was gonna score as soon as he found himself open in the middle of the zone

I've rewatched a lot of Tunsil doing the defensive notes tonight and he was truly awful, it wasn't just the penalties.

I'll include scoring for Tunsil to compare to Stanley with OL article on Wednesday.

We saw him audible a number of times today, one I clearly remember turned into a good run by West.

And look what happened, he played his best game of the season by far.

The only thing I wanted to see in this game was Flacco play better and the play calling take advantage of what the defense was giving us. Flacco did not look like regular Joe that we are use to yesterday , he looked like January Joe out there going through his reads very efficiently and making the correct plays...on top of that his awareness in the pocket was high...that man was playing with a mission and was a lot more animated then we have grown use to...

I am happy with the effort the offense showed in the 2nd half not trying to lay conservative, we did not need to run the ball because they could not stop Flacco and the offense...Some big penalties cost us more points possibly but I'll take it.

Perriman? That 4.2 speed seems to be translating very well on the field. That foot race wasn't even close, that's 3TDS in 4 games now. He is starting to heat up and will see more and more touches....Dixon is going to be the future for us at RB, and believe me I have been bummed out since week 6 because I really felt that we should have drafted Jay Ajayi 2 years ago.....Dixon kind of makes me feel better about it, we will see.

Defense keeps on playing well and the message to the doubters? Tavon Young is going to be one HELL of a CB for us for years along side Jimmy Smith....Orr leads in tackles. Fun game to watch and finally have something very positive to build off.
