Will Dennis ever score a TD this season

56 posts in this topic

With 5 games left we have to witness a DP  TD.  He is playing great and deserves a few touches in the Red Zone.

Doubtful, but it can always happen of course.  He's been struggling to get open much this year outside of the Browns game early in the season.  He just can't separate anymore.  Most of his catches are as the underneath safety valve.  That doesn't exist in the red zone.

He's still getting all the rust off, all the injuries at TE he's had a bigger workload than we were probably anticipating. He's come close a couple times but his hands are not as good as they used to be, maybe they'll never be that good again but he's still getting back to full speed, missing two years because of an injury is a lot for any player to deal with. I think he'll get one at some point, my prediction is that it'll come vs. the Pats, but who knows.

Perhaps if we are on the one yard line and West or another running back fumbles the ball and he recovers it in the end zone...

Other then that we are lucky if he even catches a ball for a first down as he seems to not even know where those yard sticks

are located as he always comes up short on third downs by a yard or so....

I would like to see him benched and cut....

Yes pitta is not the player he once was before two hip surgeries but can he get some respect? He's only having his second best statistical year while taking a 4 mil dollar paycut to do so. Pitta deserves nothing but respect. Just my two cents

I think hes still working some kinks out. I still remember how effective he was in our superbowl year, yards after catch and all. He and Flacco were fantastic together.

Two years of not playing really ruined his skills.

I think it's two busted hips that are the issue.

Sure he might. Then again it's not like we've scored a lot of passingTDs in general. At the current rate we may score 4-5 more passing TDs.

Could he get one? Sure. But I'm not betting on it.

Id probably put money on Waller or Boyle before Pitta at this point. He just doesn't separate in tight spaces like he used to. Though Joe could always force feed him a ball down in the red zone that he finds a way to hang on to in traffic.

But id rather see more Boyle and Waller in general.

The issue, in my opinion, is that Pitta has never been that great with catching on the move. The Ravens were never going to ask him to catch on vertical based routes or have to reel one in over his shoulder, and even catching on the move over the middle was a bit of a toss up.

He's really great when he was able to use his athletecism to break free and sit down and purely focus on catching.

Right now, he's just not breaking open and you can't really count on him in a contested ball situation.

Y'all are going a Lil to hard on pitta. Its yalls opinion of course so I won't debate anyone, but this is his first year back after missing 2 seasons coming off not 1 but 2 major injuries even though the injuries are the same, but still. As a offense nobody's catching any. Aiken dont have anything, Wallace ain't had one in weeks, and Steve was pretty dry until the last few week. I believe he does score and possibly this game maybe definitely vs pats .

Hey I was wrong here lol.  Pitta came to play today.  The Dolphins definitely left the middle of the field exposed, but you can't take away a great game from Pitta either.  He did very well today.  Glad he found the end zone.

Pitta needs an apology by some lol

I'll be the first to do so.

I initially thought that after his hip injuries that he was done and should have retired.

Glad he proved me wrong!  He balled out today!  Forgive me Dennis!

GO PITTA!!

The good thing is, the Ravens can dictate what defenses can do against them. This game was exactly what I thought this offense would look like coming into the season. If you take away the speed outside and over the top, the TEs should have room to work. If you try to take away the middle, you'll have crosses and work outsie the numbers and if the running game is working the playaction will allow the TEs to have room in the redzone.

As for Pitta, I said in the game thread that I have been tough on Pitta for much of the season, but he looked fresh today. He looked really good. It's been a while since I've called him American Express but that is certainly who he was today. Hopefully it continues

I always felt he was vastly overrated. I don't think he'll get one this year.

hmm...

Cant blame you for not thinking he was going to score, it wasn't looking good for a while, but overrated? Not even close

I can't say I've doubted him as a player but more so his hip lol.the first few weeks I would cringe when he took a hit, not so much now and I'm loving his production!

Well Pitta proved us wrong. Great game.

And hey if they did read this thread and then went out and did what they did today... time to start threads on every player like this.
