2016 Week 13 Other Games Discussion

188 posts in this topic

The Raiders reach Double Digit wins for the first time since 2002. It's amazing how Reggie McKenzie was on the hot seat, had a couple bad drafts early on but as a GM has had better drafts and built the team into a winner. Going to be an interesting episode of Timeline in the future when they talk about the Raiders revival and how the 2014 Draft set the tone(Mack and Carr in the first two rounds).

What a pair of picks that was for them in that draft. I remember watching the draft that night and one of the analysts was saying how when he spoke to an insider of the Raiders that they thought Mack would be gone before they pick. I bet they're sat back now laughing that he was.

The only way he was going to be gone is if the Texans took him over Clowney. The Rams could have taken Mack over Greg Robinson but they were still trying to build an offensive line. Jaguars needed a QB so they weren't going to take him. Bills traded up specifically for Watkins, leaving Mack a Raider. Only the Texans and Rams would have prevented Mack from being a Raider.

Though when you look at Carr... Bortles, Manziel and Bridgewater all went ahead of him before Oakland took him in the second. Irony of it, Cleveland took Manziel at 22, they took Joel Bitonio at 35, Raiders took Carr the very next pick at 36.

So the Panthers come out with Cam on the sidelines and turn the ball over the 1st play?  SMH!!!

I don't get that at all, I'm in the middle of recording and I check ESPN to see the score and see Anderson threw an interception. I figured there was some bizzare first snap where Cam got injured on the first play or something.

Odd.... we beat the Dolphins and snapped their 6 game winning streak. Steelers beat the Giants to snap their 6 game winning streak.

And they were saying how the AFC North was a bad division this year three weeks ago.

Already a disaster. Why the hell did the Panthers play Anderson? What?

They are saying that Cam did not start the game because he was being punished by the team for something. I wonder what it was?

That's what everyone else is trying to figure out.

If they're just punishing him for something then it's a stupid punishment. For all anyone knows they could lose by 3 and Anderson being in for that first drive may have made the difference.

That is just ridiculous. Are they freaking high school team?

They've been saying there is no way that the AFC North is getting more than 1 team in. I'm not so sure. If both these teams keep up their current level of play, it could be that the one that doesn't take the division could still land a WC. Broncos up only one game on us and NE, KC and OAK remain on their schedule.

If we win enough games to close this out to be in the hunt, we'll be in a good position with respect to tie breakers, as we'll likely have a better conference record than DEN and now have the head to head vs. MIA. .

It sounds a like a meltdown waiting to happen.

Exactly. After a Ted Ginn TD they're now down by 3, so who knows what would have happened on that first drive.

Sorry collinsworth , Thomas Davis does not belong in the hof

Haha, as far as Collinsworth is concerned, half the players on the field belong in the HOF. Every Sunday night.

Yeah. Davis is a great story because of all his acl tears and return to the field but that doesn't make you hof worthy

Bombshell tweet from Earl Thomas.

If that's the first thing he says on Twitter he's probably been thinking about it for a while.

Makes sense. Yes, Dallas has clinched but the division won't be clinched and Home Field will still be in play. For Tampa, they are currently the 6th seed and tied with Atlanta on top of the NFC South. Brady vs Osweiler doesn't have that media friendly promotion like Brady-Manning so no way that was going to be flexed.

Steelers-Bengals got kicked off SNF to a 1:00pm game lol.

NFL should have flexed Chiefs vs Falcons for this week, I was surprised this game stayed on SNF considering the Panthers aren't even in playoff contention this year.

Since Seahawks have killed the Panthers.... let's move on to tomorrow night. In another way to say how bad the AFC South is, a Colts win against the Jets will put them at 6-6. After 13 weeks of football, the AFC South standings will look like this barring a Jets win.

Texans 6-6 (3-0 Division Record)

Colts 6-6 (2-2 Division Record)

Titans 6-6 (1-3 Division Record)

Remaining AFC South Schedules

Week 14: Texans vs Colts, Broncos vs Titans

Week 15: Jaguars vs Texans, Titans vs Chiefs, Colts vs Vikings

Week 16: Titans vs Jaguars, Bengals vs Texans, Colts vs Raiders

Week 17: Texans vs Titans, Jaguars vs Colts
