Andy Dalton exposed

16 posts in this topic

Credit Dean Pees for the beginning of the end to Andy Dalton.  Through the game Pees realized he could exploit Daltons low release and in the final defensive drive they batted what 5 balls? Didn't rush just sat and waited. Teams no doubt will take note of that last drive and I honestly think it could spell the end of Dalton.

A low release isn't something you fix mid season and it's not something that is easily fixed. If he doesn't fix it over the offseason old Red could be done for.

I think Dalton has been a product of being around such talented players.  He looked great last year, but that's when everything was going right.  Joe needs talent around him as well, but he shows up when it matters.  I predicted they would go 8-8 this year, definitely didn't think they would look this horrible.

Doesn't appear they ever recovered from their playoff implosion against the Steelers.

I'm sure both @OUravensfan and @RavensPunkXVX can attest to this and Dalton's other weaknesses. Glad we got a win for you guys.

Am I tagged because I live in Cincinnati? Lol

I talk Bengals football almost everyday with friends and coworkers. Dalton has regressed a great deal. I used to like Dalton because he seemed pretty smart with the football, but he has taken a tumble.

People are calling for McCarron, of course. I told a friend he needs to thank AJ Green for the career he has had. Take him out for dinner or something. Lol

Happy the Ravens finally got over the hump. This was the year to do it. I got so tired of losing to them.

Lol yes. I had to.

It's not a coincidence that Dalton has regressed since the talent level across the board has regressed as well. Imagine Flacco with a WR like AJ. Good lord.....

I'm wondering if this is the year Cincy have finally imploded from all those playoff losses.

I remember in ESPN's "Four Falls of Buffalo" Troy Aikman mentioned that in their fourth Super Bowl the half-time score was close and they'd been playing well, but the players just looked dejected as they walked back to the lockers - most of whom having played in the three previous Super Bowl losses. Of course they imploded in the second half and the entire franchise has been trying to recover ever since.

I wonder if something similar's happening with the Bengals. Six one-and-dones in a row has to have done a number on most of these guys mentally.

Only Burfict isn't on that list. He's been done mentally long time ago.

Losing Sanu, then no Green, Bernard this week would hurt anyone. But Andy is historically a choke artist anyway, so......

And no Marvin Jones. When people need to look at overrated QBs, you need to look at what Dalton has had going for him historically.

Especially last year

AJ Green-Top 5 WR in the NFL

Tyler Eifert-Second best TE in the NFL

Marvin Jones-Playmaking threat

Sanu- Big strong recieving threat.

Giovanni Bernard-Good #2 RB, elite recieving option

Jeremy Hilly-Good Workhorse #1 RB

Good offensive line

Historiccally good defense.

AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FROM IT.

Most overrated QB in the NFL. And it's not even close. Put an Andrew Luck or a Joe Flacco on that team, and it wins a Super Bowl.

Why teams shouldn't waste their windows of opportunity.  Bengals had one of the most balanced rosters and are starting to see what they built crumble due to not taking advantage.

I agree...They should have at least appear in one super bowl in their 6 long season playoff appearances...time is clicking and team's confidence is crumbled when they are crushed in every first round of playoff..

I have to say Marvin put together a very balance team in NFL over the past decade, but he can't seem to find a winning playoff QB.....

Doesn't matter who's the QB cuz Marvin is 0-7 in playoff ever since he took over the Bengals team in 2003, the beginning of Palmer's career....
