I agree!

Joe has said that he likes this style of play numerous times already.  He says that it helps the offense get into a rhythm-which it does.  To me, they become more confident in their own ability to move the chains consistently.  I don't know why the coaching staff don't script a better offensive scheme around their $120 mil man who has been their starter for 9 seasons and Super Bowl MVP.  Definitely, a lack of trust there somewhere.  But why?

The only thing I can think of is the offense doesn't stay together or the same long enough for guys to really know the offense well enough. How much trust can you have in the offense to go tempo if you don't trust the oline that's playing up front or if  there is still disconnect between the WRs and QB at times. I think the more they stay in the same offense the more comfortable and confident they are. I think that's why we see Flacco play so well in the playoffs but so inconsistent in the regular. I listen to Harbs talk about how much it's a Flacco guy so I can't imagine he doesn't trust him enough to truly lead the offense.

I think continuity will lead to more confidence and Flacco and the offense to run things from the LOS more.

The run game and the o-line looked much better...

We still struggled with consistency though...

The pass rush is straight fire!!

The secondary struggles with the short passes

Ironically it looks like that Tucker signing was a big steal! After seeing those 12 missed extra points last week and seeing the Bengals attempt to have a kicker I'm EXTREMELY happy we have a Justin Tucker. He would've gotten much more money if he was a set to be a free agent at the end of this season!

Good: Those all black unis

Bad: (in a good way) Those blackened end zones!  That is a FIERCE look with those all black unis.  I love it!

Ugly: Those not wearing them! :D

No B Will in the middle on the Bengals last drive until the last few plays. No coincidence they ran the ball well.

That makes a lot of sense now. I'll admit, I didn't even notice. I was sure they would've strayed completely away from running it.

Missed the game because I was at the Bucs-Seahawks game, but it looks like Cincinnati won't have to worry about that pesky playoff streak anymore.

Off topic but did Russell Wilson look as poor as his numbers say he did or was it his team not giving him much help. Didn't get a chance to see the game but the numbers looked horrible.

As for Cincinnati I think their window might be closing period. I think losing some of the coaches and players they have will really hurt. Let's hope they have enough fight to hand the Steelers another lost.

wilson did not look good in the first half, i had to leave after that though. he was just missing key throws, i remember specifically he missed an open jimmy graham down the sideline for a first down by throwing about 3 yards too far outside, and he had kearse open for another first down and skipped it off the ground a good 2 yards short. he hung his receivers out to dry with high throws in the middle(RIP tyler lockett, not literally, but wow, that hit) and generally looked like he was a little panicked and out of sync.

but if you ask certain posters here, their OL and skill positions are far worse than ours and wilson still produces at an elite level despite all of that so flacco has no excuse.

Anyone watch Stanley? How'd he do?

Wasn't focused on him tremendously but I don't recall him doing anything spectacularly good or bad, so a pretty good day overall I think.

From what I recall, seemed the left side of the line (Stanley and Yanda) seemed to do fine for most of the day. Seemed running up the middle and a bit more over the right side was a bigger part of the problem.

Seems to be getting better each week.  Not perfect, but definitely better than the version we got when he first got back from injury.

Something unexpected from this game: Wright wasn't abused all day, but the bad news is that Tavon was, without Jimmy the past two weeks he's had a really hard time. Also Weddles dropped gimme pick still has me in shock, our dline catches better than our secondary it seems.

Why do you think this? I personally thought he played great and is going to be really good across from Jimmy when he gets back.

Tucker should have Flacco's contract! He's our best player. It's amazing how I get more excited about TUCKER kicking than anything

our team does! Wow what a weapon.

I'm with you on this but wow when the highest entertainment is watching Ravens kicker Tucker launch field goals into the oblivion, something’s lacking with the Ravens offense.... touchdowns, maybe?  Tucker is MVP!!!!  He is very exciting to watch.  I'm glad he is a Raven.    Maybe the Ravens Digital Media/Broadcasting team will do a video clip on Tucker's work ethics?

He wasn't abused. He's playing like how very good rookie undersized outside CB would. All things considered he's probably our best performing rookie this season. Definitely a top ten CB of the draft. He'll excell when we move him to the slot where he belongs.

he did get abused pretty badly all day and then he stepped up in a big way on that last drive.

i think thats even more impressive than him playing a strong full 4 quarters. he kept his head clear through adversity and stepped up when it mattered most.

tavon young may have had the occasonal miss as far as successful plays go, but the kid has been pretty clutch aside from the long horseback ride he took into the dallas endzone.

Oline is awful. Dixon and west could have ran for 60 70 more yards had they any blocking.

Dixon making guys miss 5 yards deep.

Flacco running for his life multiple tmes with unblocked rushers right up the middle

I don't know if it's competition or not, but the actually seem to be getting better each week, which is bad because that's not saying much.  I do see some improvements each week, though.

I don't really think he got abused; their receivers didn't really do much.  I was at the game so maybe I am missing something from TV.

And yeah it is definitely an encouraging sign he finished the game very strongly.

if im not mistaken he gave up quite a few 3rd down conversions, and i believe he had 2 holds or a hold and a PI.

this is going off of memory, so i dont know specifics, but i do specifically remember being highly disappointed in youngs play on quite a few occasions today. its ok though, 4th round rookie cbs do that.

Here's another positive of winning the game. The Ravens & Texans are tied at 6-5, and due to a better win percentage over Houston, we currently sit as the third seed in the AFC while Houston is the fourth seed.

He was annihilated on the previous return, but he made up for it with that hit.

i noticed two nice blocks and maybe 1 play where he looked like he maybe got beaten but i didnt really notice much else which i guess is a good thing

Wasn't able to watch the game unfortunately. Can someone tell me how the Pass Rush was this game with Doom coming back?

three strip sacks, dalton got hit a few more times on top of that and we had something like 4 batted balls in 8 plays in one short series - it looked really good hopefully doom has come back with fresh legs (a bit like justin houston has for KC) and can go on a tear against tired and/or worn down tackles

and if jimmy smith comes back healthy that should only help the pass rush get there even quicker - its crazy how jimmy's presence affects the rest of the defense just in terms of linebackers and safeties confidence to jump on a route without worrying about the big play

They have never had the put the nails in the coffin mentality. I honestly don't know why. I do know some people think it's unsportsmanlike to play that way I dont know if Harbs is one that thinks that way but I believe the other team has a defense on the field it's up to them to stop the opposing team if they don't like being scored on.   I would love the Ravens to run the score up but this team just seems to have a tough enough time putting up points on the board to get the win. I totally agree with you it would be nice to see a team winning by breaking the other teams spirits.

I don't think we lack the mentality,  I think we lack the execution.  Remember when we had the home opener against the steelers,  35-7 I think we won,  but we did a fake pat for a 2point.

I'll wait for filmstudy review, but according to the stats we had better ypc running left. Also it seemed most pressure came from up the middle or on the right side, I.e him and Yanda were keeping pressure away from joe. I'd say he grades out pretty well today.

so tell me, how does a raw number with zero context prove anything? you can argue that joe hasnt taken as many sacks as other qbs, because hes running for his freaking life and is playing it smart and throwing it away. david carr? you mean derek? the guy that went in the locker room FOR A MISHANDLED SNAP where the BALL dislocated his pinky... wow man, get it together. no im not watching the game right now, im currently at work, but i do watch plenty, difference between me and you is, i know what im watching, you dont.

OH and by the way... you post this list of rankings of OLs, and then go on to say that derek carr is getting destroyed and producing despite it and bla bla bla... click on that link, take a look who has the #1 OL according to your numbers.. bravo man, everytime you open your mouth you put your foot in it.

Lol wrecked
