2016 Week 12 Other Games Discussion

233 posts in this topic

Happy Thanksgiving Flock! It's time for the annual Thanksgiving Day tradition of Football and Turkey starting with two divisional games finishing up with a conference battle between the Colts and Steelers. If you haven't had your fill, Sunday brings dessert as the Falcons look to avoid a midseason slump, the Browns look to shock the world against the Giants and the playoff race thickens in the closing weeks of the NFL season.

Vikings @ Lions: It seemed the Vikings were ready to take claim of the NFC North after starting 5-0, now they sit at 6-4 looking to avoid being swept by the Lions. The Lions have seemingly come out of nowhere as among all the Jim Caldwell speculation, the Vikings and Packers have fallen apart and the Lions have taken over the North. They can sieze control of the North fully with a sweep of the Vikings or are the Vikings ready to reclaim the NFC North?

Redskins @ Cowboys: The Cowboys are a NFL best 9-1, Dak Prescott has effectively benched Tony Romo as the Prescott/Elliott lawfirm has taken over in Dallas. Dak looks to put Dallas at 10-1, the last time they did this was in 2007. Kirk Cousins meanwhile is proving doubters wrong and is on his way to leading the Redskins back to the playoffs. To do so, they must pull off the upset of the Cowboys as a loss will put the Vikings/Lions on their heels in the wild card spot.

Steelers @ Colts: I wonder if Andrew Luck is regretting signing that long term contract with the Colts. Ryan Grigson seemingly can't do anything right to keep him healthy, and now Luck misses another game and a crucial game at that. With the Titans on the rise, the Texans having their struggles, the division is there for them but now they won't be able to take advantage of it. If Scott Tolzien can do the unthinkable then more power to him.

Titans @ Bears: With Jay Cutler dealing with a shoulder injury, Hoyer gone with a broken arm, the Bears are turning to Matt Barkley this week against the Titans. The Titans are looking to win the AFC South and with a chance to put themselves back into the division race, a loss is the last thing needed.

Jaguars @ Bills: The Bills along with the Dolphins are one of the teams chasing the AFC West for the final wild card spots in the AFC. The Bills get a break facing the lowly Jaguars who have shockingly not fired Gus Bradley yet. Jaguars look to spoil any hopes of the Bills resurging toward a playoff spot but will this be the game that finally causes Gus Bradley to be fired?

Cardinals @ Falcons: What once was a good game on paper, is now a game between two teams looking to avoid any further down slide. The Falcons at 6-4, looked to run away with the NFC South but a few bumps have put the Bucs, Panthers and Saints right back into the Division Battle. The Cardinals meanwhile have only continued their meltdown from last year' NFC Championship game. Will the Cardinals open the NFC South race up by beating the Falcons or will Atlanta rise up and continue clinging to first place?

Giants @ Browns: The 2008 Detroit Lions are about to have some company in the form of the 2016 Cleveland Browns. No way do the Giants lose here, Giants are hoping for some help from the Redskins to catch the Cowboys in the division race.

Rams @ Saints: The Saints with some help can get back into the NFC South race and a win here will only help that cause. Jeff Fisher is on his way to becoming the losingest Coach in NFL history and the Saints should contribute to that as the Rams march toward another 7-9 season.

49ers @ Dolphins: The Dolphins are hoping to continue their playoff surge as they look to claim one of the wild card spots from the AFC West. This week, they get the task of Chip Kelly and the 49ers who may or may not have a new head coach next season. Will the 49ers continue to implode leading to a house cleaning or will Chip Kelly survive regardless?

Chargers @ Texans: The Texans are starting to slip, and if they continue doing so, so will the AFC South title. The Chargers are the "What If" team of 2016 as the AFC West could easily be a Fatal 4 Way for the division if not for some late losses earlier in the season. Chargers look to build momentum toward next year, Mike McCoy looks to keep his job and the Texans are looking to avoid being knocked out of the playoff picture.

Seahawks @ Buccaneers: The Bucs played spoiler to the Chiefs in their AFC West bid last week, and look to spoil the Seahawks bid at catching Dallas for the number one seed in the NFC. The Bucs have shown some growth this year and can keep building on it with another unexpected win that may very well put them in the thick of the NFC South picture.

Panthers @ Raiders: The Oakland Raiders are currently the top seed in the AFC and are looking to stay there for the rest of the season. If there is one team that can compete with New England, it's Oakland. Carolina will likely be without Luke Kuechly making it for an easier day on the AC/DC connection and the rest of the Oakland offense. Can Carolina pull off the upset to stay in pace with the rest of their division?

Patriots @ Jets: It's amazing how one year ago the Jets were one game away from the playoffs and now are looking at a top five pick in 2017. Clearly the Jets aren't who we thought they were and the Patriots should walk away easily with another win.

Chiefs @ Broncos: This will be the game of the week, both are now trailing the Raiders in the division race and both need a win to stay in the hunt. Denver has surprisingly stayed strong in their bid to repeat, and the Chiefs look to solidify their playoff spot. The loser of this game falls victim to the Miami Dolphins if they win as the Dolphins will be looking to knock the loser of this game out of the playoffs by week 17.

Packers @ Eagles: Oh how the mighty Packers have fallen. The Green Bay Packers are finding themselves on a decline that we've never thought we see until Aaron Rodgers retired. The Eagles meanwhile have gotten good play out of Carson Wentz and look to have a solid foundation going forward. Will the Packers finally get back on track or will the Eagles continue to derail the Packers season?

Getting rid of Boldin is up there with the worst mistakes we've ever made. Imagine him and SSS, granted maybe we don't pursue SSS, but what if!

The refs are beyond terrible, Carl Cheffers has always been among the worst. I wish I could be terrible at my job and still get paid. Actually I don't because I do my job correctly.

Yeah that PI call was pretty bad. If that is PI then we are calling it on every play

If it was Dallas there is no call, Jerry's world

You know after all these years, having someone producing but because they are 'old' is one of the stupidest excuse I've ever seen.

How many 'flash' young players with big FA money never produce once they get into the new team?

Boldin is still doing it.

These officials make it so hard to watch these games. Clearly the ball was tipped which should have negated the PI call but they call PI anyway. I'm just glad they got the call right after reviewing it. I was worried they were still going to have the PI call stand and ignore the tipped ball.

What kills me is we got a 6th round pick for it. Given our inability to draft a good WR we need to look at FA there again this off season. Wish we went after Crabtree 2 years ago.

Enjoying both Boldin and Ngata playing for the Lions.  Thanks for a lot of good memories, former Ravens.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The Lions are now in sole possession of first place in the NFC North at 7-4, sweeping the Vikings for the first time since 2014. I would not be surprised to see a contract extension for Jim Caldwell in his stocking this Christmas.

Time for the Redskins to visit Dallas in a NFC East battle as the Redskins are looking to hang on to the last wild card spot in the NFC down the final stretch.

Dreaming OU.  But, I'll dream with you on this.....Boldin, SSS, Wallace and Perriman?  That would have been a nice combo imo.

Most people would say that Boldin and SSS are the same type of possession player...as though you can't have two of those types of people in your wide receiving group.  Man please!  The more "dogs" at wide receiver the better.

Doing it better with the Lions than with the 49ers.  And there was even a Ngata sighting! Lol!

While I agree the end result was a mistake, it was more about dumping his salary on the 49ers rather than a replacement player was it not?

Dallas just ran all over Washington on that drive. Happy I am not going against Elliott this week in fantasy, I think he goes off.

Skins offense is like the Ravens...they HAVE TO SCORE in order to hang with these Cowbumz!  They know who they are on offense and will control that time of possession by consistently moving the chains.

Yea that would be awesome and I totally agree, the more the better. Even the great players can't do it all every week.

Yea it was about that.

Dallas oline is ridiculous. dak could sit there for 10 seconds if he wanted to

It makes me so jealous, people need to take a step back and realize this before they crucify Joe.

That touchdown catch was insane. You can just see the confidence the Cowboys' offense has now.

Yes they are I literally thought the same thing when he caught it. Hopefully our offense has its breakout game this weekend.....

OU....I see people in here mentioning this so-called, "breakout" about the offense all of the time.  What do you guys that use that term (cause I don't) consider that to be?
