Free Agency 2017 (Players from Other Teams We Should Consider)

I really think Kendall Wright can help this team. This guy is becoming a free agent and has a knack for getting open, even though he doesn't have top end speed. He will be cost friendly and can actually catch the ball.

Top end speed shouldn't be the focus of this offense. Solid to elite route running and the ability to make guys miss in tight spaces is what the Ravens need. I don't know how he'd handle replacing a legend but he's definitely SSS like. Of course he's no Sr, but I like his similar style of play. Also love the fact that he'd be low cost with a huge chip on his shoulder as a castoff 1st rounder.

I want a slot WR for this team. We've been missing someone who can be effective in the slot. In a West Coast offense that features plenty of slant and crossing patterns, you want someone who can match up with a linebacker and easily beat them. I like Camp for that role but he's too often injured. Someone in the mold of Cole Beasley would be perfect.

Wallace shouldn't be brought back in all honesty and I doubt he will be. He hasn't played at nearly a high enough level to justify 5 mil. Further, we drafted Chris Moore to replace him so I think that's what we do there.

While the $8M cap hit is fairly high, its the price we have to pay for what we don't have and that's another WR. Perriman should certianly be relied upon to step up and IMO he's a guy that should replace Wallace before Moore. I would love to upgrade Wallace and then add someone cheap like Kendall Wright.

Yeah I mentioned Wright in the other thread but I really like him as a fit here. He could be one of those guys we help turn around and become a star. I say sign him to a one year deal and hope he pans out. I wouldn't make that our only move but one of them for sure

Yea the Ravens should definitely be able to pull off a 1yr low cost deal. His production has gone down each year and he pretty much fell out of favor in Tennessee. Not great terms entering FA. Sign him to a one year prove it deal and let him prove himself. It'll also work for him because it'll basically be a audition Year for a big contract. I would love the move.

Definitely shouldn't be the only move. In his presser Harbs spoke about wanting to add another WR, be it a vet or rookie. His description of that WR was big physical possession type guy who can still make plays down field, I immediately thought of Kenny Britt. I've made it clear I'd love to see him here on a reasonable deal. If both Britt and Wright are added to Perriman, Moore and Camp I think that's would be a nice WR Corp but certainly young and unproven. But if Britt and Wright are added I wouldn't have a problem moving on from Wallace and Aiken.

just a thought here, if Harbaugh wants to add a play-maker at running back why don't we make a play for Leveon Bell. Now I realize we won't have a shot at signing him but anything can happen for the right price.

Likely to be franchise tagged by the Steelers. Don't think he ever sniffs FA.

So you were right when you said we won't have a shot at signing him.

I think a team with a ton of cap money grabs him and will match the franchise tag and be willing to give up a 1st round pick.

Yeah zero percent chance of that. Teams don't trade 1st round picks and large contracts for 25 year old RBs with multiple prior suspensions.

Can never get a good ROI on that investment.

Not happening for a RB period at least not for Bell. peterson in his prime maybe, but Bell isn't Peterson in his prime.

Who are the Browns for $500 Alex?

So, Ozzie is looking for a complimentary receiver? Well, two  that come to mind, are free agents receivers: Terrelle Pryor and Kendall Wright. I would also like to take a flyer on Cordarrelle Patterson. Patterson gushes with talent, but needs stability. Wright and Pryor are in their prime.

Pryor won't sniff free agency I don't think the browns will let him

Connor Barwin from Eagles, he's 30, coming off a down year playing in a 4-3. If eagles release him I wouldn't mind picking him up. Not a bad pass rusher in a 3-4.

JC Tretter from Packers, move well for a Center and is a good run blocker.

Tony Jefferson at SS, he was one of the best run defenders on the cardinals and held up well on coverage. At 24 years old this could be a great pick up.

Yea,  terrible idea.   Let's buy stock at its climax,  give up a 1st round pick... This is the formula for failing

And suspension

Hate the idea, however, I wouldn't mind driving up his asking price to have the Steelers pay more.

Also, we have two real good backs. They just need better coordination. Hopefully, newly hired Roman, will enact that!

Now let's talk receivers

The man just topped 1,000 yards once again and seems to have good rapport with Flacco and you want to release him? Yikes

Not the place to come if you're a younger WR and want to be a star lol

release doom and pitta, try to cut and re-sign webb. let wagner walk since hes rumored to be seeking 10m a year. right price only for bwill.

move alex lewis to RT. commit to bolstering the interior through the draft, trade back and take a dan feeney or quenton nelson, or hope to land forrest lamp or dorian johnson in the 3rd. make a strong push for JC tretter in FA, hope for guillermo to fall to you in the 3rd.

make a push for vincent jackson to be a big bodied dependable veteran, thats the kind of FA signing flacco has done very well with. then make a push for either robert woods or kenny britt, do you think perriman is legit? then go for robert woods who is the cheaper less risky options. do you think you desperately need a #1 and playmaker because perriman isnt the guy? go for kenny britt.

thats a general outline id like to see for our free agency.

I could see Eddie Royal as the kind of receiver that gets brought in. Bears can save 5mil by cutting him.

If Wagner wants $10 million a year then it will be hard to have him back here next year.

With that being said, cut and attempt to resign doom and Webb on the cheap side, if not, let's make a stab at keeping Williams.

Any thoughts on Ingram from SD? Oh I mean LA😂 He seems legit but could get big money

I don't think he's worth the contract that say dumervil got, it depends on how "big" that money is.

I don't think it's whether or not someone wants to release Wallace, it's a matter of if they bring him back With an $8 million cap hit. Wallace is definitely at risk of being a cap casualty, I don't think anyone is questioning that.

I'm questioning that. It would stupid to outright release him

The Rams are likely to let "Jeff Fisher guys" walk in FA, including WR Kenny Britt. What do you guys think his value will be?

I mentioned Brit somewhere else.  I always liked the guy he was just plagued with injuries but has great potential, id say a one year prove it deal, no idea for how much thought,

Kenny Britt is my top WR for the Ravens this year. I know there are better WRs on the market overall but for what the Ravens need I like both Britt and Woods with Britt ranking higher for me.

Watching Sanu work in that Falcons offense makes me want Britt even more. I think Britt can bring exactly what SSS brought over the last 3 years production wise and even more imo. When the Ravens talked about what type of WR they wanted this offseason I think it fits Britt to a T. A guy who can move the chains but also fast enough to stretch the field still. When healthy Britt averages 16ypc and he's never really played in a offense that featured the pass game as much as the Ravens will. There's a article on CSN about the Redskins being interested in Britt and it mentions that sources say Britt is expect anywhere between 8-12M with established an established QB. Honestly I wouldn't be against paying him 10M per and if you can get him cheaper that's great. I think he's a guy who might get overpaid based on potential being only 29 and finally 100% healthy. I think it's time for the Ravens to start aggressively putting weapons around Flacco and I'd have no problem if they slight overpaid Britt.

There is no way i would feel comfortable paying Britt that much.  Im not sure how good of a route runner he is, maybe someone can speak to that.  He is a physical freak for sure and i definitely would want to bring him in, i just have no idea what his cost is going to be.  Lets just hope he doesnt go to NE.  Him and Garcon are my two guys and if they are going to cost about the same, i like the upside of Britt, but his injury past does concern me, i know he has only missed one game in 3 years.

I would also really like to bring in Cordelle Patterson as a return specialist, like how we used jacoby.  We need that playmaker back there and for some reason, maybe i didnt notice, i dont think Moore got any shots back there

I think he's proven enough over his career and especially the last 3 years with terrible QB play, that some team will definitely offer him a 4-5 year deal. If the Ravens can swing a prove it type deal it'll probably have to have a lot of incentives and a huge 2nd year commitment.
