How about getting a wide receiver who's a YOUNG star instead of an OLD star for once in this teams history? Why do we always have to get offensive players who made their bones with other teams?

Where do you propose we get this young star, though?  Young stars rarely even make it to the open market.

I don't like his okay though we have too many speed guys we need a tall physical guy I think Alshon is the move I'll be disappointed if the FO does other wise

That's our superstar, #1 WR that you propose?  Point proven.

I don't get your sarcasm. He's a young player with all the tangible's to be a key addition. Once Smith hangs it up they are back to square one which isn't much. I'm sure they will add their obligatory 5th rounder from some school with a hyphen in it and think they out foxed the league but their success in that department comes through FA. This team has no idea how to select a "superstar" WR is whatever than means. I mean Chris Moore, seriously?

Let me get this straight - we're talking about the same Cordarelle Patterson who has yet to get above 500 receiving yards on a season, right?  The same guy who was benched last year because he couldn't even line up on the field correctly?  If we're talking about him as a kick returner, sure, I'd love him.  I'm not convinced you watch football if you see Patterson as #1 WR, or even having the tangibles of such.

Well i'm not sure where the hell you got # WR from but I do recall you were the guy that said Tyler Lockett couldn't make it in the NFL so im not sure you are the best judge of talent. Sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders for a player. Is he a plug in and play stud? Nope, but I am sure is he more valuable than Chris Moore

You responded to a quote in which we were talking about finding a young star WR...

But okay, go ahead and try to switch up the subject.  Maybe I did say that and maybe I didn't, but I'm more than capable of admitting I'm wrong if I did.

Suggesting Patterson as a young star WR is just laughable though.

For the record I don't recall calling Pat. a young star I think you get a little dramatic and add some BS into your replies just to fool yourself. My take is he's is a talented YOUNG guy that can return kicks day one and can probably be had on the cheap so there is plenty of upside.

This is the question that was posed and you responded to.  How else am I supposed to take that?

As a young guy with upside. I have no idea what a star is and quite frankly I don't think the Ravens FO can draft one either.

Would like to add Ingram or Perry.  Wouldn't mind using the money for Williams on Gilmore.

Gilmore is one of the most overrated CBs in the league IMO. I'd rather let someone overpay for him. Definitely take Trumain Johnson over him, wouldn't mind Ingram and I'm a fan of Nick Perry. I want us to attack OLB or CB in FA because Center is a position that we need an upgrade at. My problem with Zuttah is not that he's a problem but the fact that he's not a solution. All the great OLs in the NFL had an elite or great center. Definitely would love to grab one within the 1st three rounds. You got the four other positions down, now go out there and upgrade at C.

Agree to an extent about Gilmore but Rex went to Buffalo and essentially broke up what I think was a top 5 defense at the time.  I wouldn't want to overpay but I would not mind us making a real attempt to grab him.

I'd rather pay Perry, Ingram, Johnson and even Alshon over him. Even before Ryan left there were plenty of times when he got burnt and even in man coverage he got sliced up. Just don't think he's as good as some make him out to be.

I missed the game, I didn't know Juice could run like that. We GOTTA keep him now. Dixon, West and Juice would be a perfect three headed monster. Gives us a reliable pass blocker too. Hopefully our next GM actually abandons the west coast offense and turns us back into a balanced run first team.

Tangibles but he's about as sharp as a bowling ball. There's a reason he was drafted top 20 But has been relegated to return duties and the occasional bubble screen.

Those runs happened because we ran traps which nobody ever expects from a fullback, fb gets the ball and hits the hole but juice is nimble. That was brilliant play calling to get the first but juices score was all effort.

I agree. Patterson has been a major disappointment on a team where he was set up to get PT. He'd be a returner here at best.

I'm not so sure Wr is a MAJOR need. I mean of course it would be ideal to add a another solid receiver but forking up a bunch of bread for Alshon would backfire in my opinion. Fix the online, get a corner or 2, grab a pass rusher.

I have never been a proponent of building a team through free agency. I would much rather build through the draft and pay our own guys once they have proven their worth. We have been fortunate to get good players like Mason, Q and Smith through free agency but outside the wide receiver position and D line we have failed to find good talent. Some have been serviceable but most have been disappointments, especially the DB's we have brought in.

I don't think we are going to be able to improve by going into FA looking for cuts only, which has been the Ozzie way. We have too many areas of need if we want to be a legit contender.

Watching MNF right now, I think Ronald Leary is the only OL I'd pony up some money for.  He's a FA and the Cowboys have La'el Collins, so I can't see them being willing to pay him.  The fact that he's been a backup is crazy considering the lack of OL talent around the league.

I agree with you.  I think its going to be hard for any decent veteran OL with starting ability to be retained.  We'll probably need to draft for backup OL this year in the later rounds.  I think Ducasse and Jensen get courted by other teams this year.  It wouldn't surprise me in the least.  I've been tough on Ducasse, but he's shown steady improvement and played well against the Steelers.  I think many teams will have a hard time retaining guys with starting experience if they are available.  Leary plays very well.  He's going to get a chance and get paid.

Ducasse is not C material, but Jensen has that in his resume.....making him a target even as an RFA.  Urschel will be the next target on the block next year at this time unless the Ravens make a move with him and he beats out Zuttah in camp next year and they resign him.  Ducasse could win a starting job elsewhere, although he's getting towards the end of his career, I believe.  He'd be a good stop-gap for a one year deal for someone.

TJ Lang would be a great pickup, but not sure about the cap and if we'd be willing to pay him.
