Candidates to be the next OC

I just noticed that Chip Kelly was also officially fired today, would he be a bad choice? All of the stuff we've tagged him with since coming to the NFL hasn't been the case, i.e. his offense needing a mobile QB, since coming up from Oregon he's done best with pocket passers, I mean his best season was with Nick Foles. I'm not pulling for Chip to come here, to be entirely honest I've thought he was overrated as a coach from the start - though I think we can all agree that he wasn't given a fair shot in San Fran - but I think he'd fit better as an offensive coordinator for us than some would admit, it really seems like Flacco does best when we do the 2 minute offense with plenty of hurry up, for some reason that's when Flacco looks to be the most comfortable. Chip would definitely bring that.

I think if you really limit his control over personnel, he can have some excellent offenses.

I don't think people realize this, but before he shipped out all his players, he had...

A top 5 offense in 2013 and 2014 in yards per game and points per game. The top ranked rushing offense in terms of YPC and yardage in 2013 and a top 10 rushing yards offense in 2014.

People get the wrong idea that his offense was figured out or that it's gimmicky, but it works. It really worked well before he shipped out all his good players.

Seems legit. Let's also get Rex Ryan to be OC.

Sign Wiseau to play QB. With Rex running the show it'd be perfect

Peyton Manning for ST coordinator

Greg Oden for QB coach

We go from our audible being "Alaska Alaska" to "chip chip chip".

He also has amazing chemistry with Mark. It'd be like Manning and Harrison 2.0 under Rex's offensive genius.

Sign me up for the Mike McCoy sweepstakes. I really liked what he was doing with SD's run game despite a lack of talent on the OL. It wasn't until later in the season that he was forced to go pass-happy after losing many starters on defense and the emerging Melvin Gordon. Injuries seemed to make him the scapegoat.

Ok, stop making fun of ridiculous suggestions by switching last names

Rick Dennison. Kubiak is retiring so he won't necessarily stay in Denver and we need our 2014 offense back.

I would honestly love a Mike McCoy hire.... but on the flip side of that, with our luck, he will light the world on fire next year, Joe will throw for like 35-40 touchdowns, and McCoy will go become the next head coach of the Jaguars or something, and we will be stuck looking for our 7th offensive coordinator in the last 5 years smh

We should hire the Raiders RB's Coach Bernie Parmalee to be our OC... He helped produce two good rookie RB's this year and helped get one to the pro bowl as an undrafted rookie (Jalen Richard).. What do yall think ?

The Ravens need a guy like Kubiak who demands accountability and attention to detail but if coach killer doesn't buy in and choses to sit on the end of the bench by himself after another three and out it doesn't matter anyway.

Looks like we the fans aren't the only ones that would like Kubiak back, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala:

If Gary Kubiak is "stepping down" and not "retiring," could he return to Baltimore as an OC? Member of Ravens says to me: I hope!

What OC out there is similar to Kubiak scheme wise without actually bringing back Kubiak?

Dennison. Familiar with ravens - Used to coach Joe- and is basically the Kubiak mini- me.  He's been under Kubes for years so they have a very similar thought process. He'd definitely be a top candidate if he's even interested.

This is why I think Marty stays.

Unless someone amazing falls in our laps I think Marty will remain at O.C.

He was thrust into the position at half season.  I give him this off season to make some changes and get everyone on the same page.   Poor Joe can't keep a coordinator for long.

No chance whatsoever.. I don't see any scenario where he remains the OC.

Give kubiak all of the money..

I doubt it even if he is "stepping down". Given his health and the amount of money he has, I think he's full on retiring tbh. I know family who have done the same. I wouldn't blame him

I'd go after Dennison unless he's staying in Denver. McCoy is an interesting option but people say he's super conservative so I don't know I heard the same about Kubiak. I wouldn't mind Norv Turner to some capacity whether QB coach or coordinator.

I'm okay with QB coach. Game has passed Norv by as a coordinator. I know McCoy is conservative but that was with Tebow as QB. Wisenhunt is the one running the show in SD, and that offense only failed because the chargers neglected to give rivers an Oline

Another thing is, do we as an organization really want to his stress / health issues?

No, OC is not as stressful as HC but it sure ain't stress free.

I would feel terrible if he came here and something bad happened as a result.

Why hasn't Marty been fired yet

I think we want to be sure of our options before taking any action. It's logical

Madden 09 calling the offensive plays would be more logical though

And WHO do you think is gonna become their HC? Cmon Dennison is from Denver. He's gonna get their HC gig, Kubes will make sure of that.
