Why is it all or nothing? Don't get that. Harbs is a special teams coach - he relies more heavily on his coordinators so don't know why it wouldn't make sense to start fresh there.

I think Harbs might be in the mix honestly, just don't think it will happen. If it does, I absolutely get it.  I do believe his seat just got pretty hot and 2017 will determine what happens. So new coordinators to kind of start fresh makes sense.

I'm saying it would be interesting to look back over time and see if there were actually HC's who fired both coordinators in a short period of time or in the same offseason and survived that job much longer.

To me, its basically the equivalent of an owner or GM going to the coach and saying "we're forcing you to fire your staff that we don't like anymore, and we're likely to fire you as well if your next staff aren't a lot better very quickly".

Question: how many other teams had to play both Christmas and New Years on the road?  Our guys went out there, away from their families for Christmas and suffered a devastating loss.  Then they had to travel again on New Years to play a meaningless game.  No doubt some of them (especially the ones who suspect they may not be here next year) were checked out.  They're human, and quite a few of them are still pretty young.  For ONE game, I can cut them some slack.

I mean I partially understand and also don't care. I agree that the devastating loss from a week ago easily played a big factor into motivation, but at the end of the day, there were a lot of guys out there playing for a job, playing time, etc. today. Personnel are evaluated exponentially harder than coaches are, and there's a lot of guys that are fringe NFL starters, veterans who we have tough decisions to make on, etc. that didn't play particularly well today, and FO will almost certainly look to a game like this to measure their resolve and desire.

People can justify their performance any way they want and I'm sure there's dozens of factors that played into it, but they are still professionals and are still responsible for being prepared and playing hard. I didn't see much of either of that today, and it will resonate long into the offseason.

Especially at the coaching level. Its a huge red flag that the coaching staff couldn't seem to motivate well today.

It's been like that nearly all season.  Again, what we saw today from my view was nothing new.  Our coaches seem to be uninspiring not just today but in general.

Forget Kubiak.... he is retiring. He told the Broncos that he is retiring from the NFL. So let's move on from Kubiak as a possible OC.

I want McCoy or Whisenhunt. Go get them.

Now these are two guys I could wrap my head around and McCoy has been my top choice for sometime now

I have heard that Dean Pees runs a complicated defense to confuse offences, maybe it is to complicated for our own good. Maybe he can become a head coach.

This is my way of saying I think he needs to go as well. No more prevent defense.

Case in point...cincy came in what? 5-9-1 and looked like a team ready to play all 60 minutes. They didnt have an issue getting motivated. Heck, the 1-14 Browns "almost" beat a trio-less steelers team today. They all came to play. Ravens were shameful today. They should all be ashamed. Hopefully it will be an eventful offseason because we need more than just a tweak here and there. Ozzie, John and Eric have many late nights ahead of them.

What type of offense does McCoy run? He's only 44 at that. Could be around for a long time

He runs a west coast offense, but takes a fair amount of shots downfield.  He'd be a very good hire and I think he'd be an excellent fit.  Maybe he'd also bring in Whisenhunt as well.

I just want to add that even though we desperately need a good OC I think the biggest improvement on offense would come from hiring a new WR coach, our reciver for years have never run good routes or gotten separation, and I believe that is a huge indicator of how bad our WR coach is.

I love the way he's been able to compensate for weak/banged up OLs. A guy like that might have a use or two here.

Totally agree and I'm fine with him as our OC as well.

I know Kubiak is leaving for health reasons, but I would really like to see him brought in as Joe's QB coach.  That shouldn't be too stressful a job. lol.  But seriously, I think he could do a lot to put Joe back on the right track.   It would be great if Dennison could be the OC too.   Heck, I know it is a dream, ...oh well.

I just noticed that Chip Kelly was also officially fired today, would he be a bad choice? All of the stuff we've tagged him with since coming to the NFL hasn't been the case, i.e. his offense needing a mobile QB, since coming up from Oregon he's done best with pocket passers, I mean his best season was with Nick Foles. I'm not pulling for Chip to come here, to be entirely honest I've thought he was overrated as a coach from the start - though I think we can all agree that he wasn't given a fair shot in San Fran - but I think he'd fit better as an offensive coordinator for us than some would admit, it really seems like Flacco does best when we do the 2 minute offense with plenty of hurry up, for some reason that's when Flacco looks to be the most comfortable. Chip would definitely bring that.

I don't know, I'm not getting my hopes up for anyone, I'm not going to be disappointed when we make a hire like some will be because I'm keeping my expectations low. I'm just trying to bring up other names other than the ones being named here ad nauseam like McCoy, whom I'd love to have personally.

He alienates players and his "look at me, I'm a genius" offense has not worked in the nfl.

Mike McCoy makes George Bush look lik Bernie Sanders. We don't need ANOTHER conservative west coast offense.

People usually don't get fired because they are really good at what they do.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, but you can turn that around easily and say you don't get hired to be a HC unless you're good at what you do. There's a vast difference between being a HC and a coordinator
