The Perriman Thread

Keep in mind, a lot of these were the same people calling Jimmy Smith a bust his rookie year.  Guys take time to develop.  It's part of the game for some.

I think a lot of football fans are spoiled now. They've gotten used to players making contributions as a rookie and that's what they've come to expect every season.

Seriously though. We'll argue back and forth as to why we think he is or isn't. Just look at the facts. This is his first season, PLAYING. It's gonna take the guy some time to develop. Maybe he's not the guy that can come straight in out of college and be the star. Maybe he has to develop into one. Not to mention, that horrid line. Perriman is not Joes #1. So until they can develop better as a pair, he's not gonna put up flashy numbers.

but you're telling me after an injury filled careeer thus far and six completed games, he's a bust? Head over and check out a new thread.

are you referring to the dropped drag pass? the one where he was running full speed laterally and flacco put the ball a half yard behind him?

yeah, total bust for dropping that incredibly difficult pass.

We have zero pass rush folks . ZERO!

Flacco has terrible protection .

That is a recipe for a losing season .

5-11 or 6-10 is my guess.

As bad as we are ,with some smart coaching decisions we should be 5-1 right now. Why?

Because the NFl is a watered down league right now.

Flacco does not have terrible protection. Flacco just stands back there flat footed looking around trying to find someone open and he stands there so long it makes the line look bad. The o line can't hold the defense off forever. But some people do expect them to......

as far as a WR is concerned its their ability to break routes rather than being robotic about it when a play isnt materializing. perriman even in college was awful at that..

the opposite? derrick mason

I agree man. Dude has barely any practice and still shows more flashes than any young receiver we have. And let's not forget the terrible "chuck the ball up with your eyes closed" pass that he made a great catch on during the first drive.

That's not football IQ....

That's literally physical ability and the make up of the human body....

so you're saying a 35 year old derrick mason who was bossing has more ''physical ability'' than perriman?

sure

Wait, you mean a rookie with six games under his belt isn't as ahead with his awareness as a 10+ year vet was? Crazy.

you can see it pretty quickly. Having said that, in perrimans defence..if he has one, is that he has maybe the most erratic qb a rookie could have.

Hell, people called OBJ a bust when he missed a few games his rookie year.

Didn't stop the boards last year (including you) from calling Perriman a bust last year, so they are busts. Doesn't matter that they haven't played yet.

Fans were freaking out so bad on him.

This is why patience is a virtue.

Yet you called Perriman a bust when he got hurt last year too. Ironic isn't it?

yeah but i thought he was an awful pick to begin with. Strange this is EVERYONE else here before the pick was made were hoping we would not pick him.

yah but the difference is obj caught everything thrown to him hes dropped more balls this year than any

periman is like 50 to 50 percent to catch any ball and that's not good

Yes, but it takes practice time to learn good route running and I'm not talking about weekly practices time I'm talking about training camp practices.

That doesn't change the fact that people were calling him a bust before he even got on the field his rookie year...

People can not like a pick, but also be smart enough to realize that 6 games doesn't define a career.  You can put me in the camp that wasn't a huge fan of the pick, but that doesn't preclude me from realizing that I could be wrong and that he may take some time to develop.
