Perhaps that stems from a lackadaisical mindset and a lack of "player-coaches" on the field DF?  Whatever it is, I can't stand it man!

Oddly enough, it seems like we only turn it up when Flacco is leading a hurry up or no huddle offense where he calls a lot of the plays. It's when he's just following Marty's script that things seem so lackluster.

Yup. Marty won't last as our OC after the season ends. We need someone new for the long term. That's why I'm hoping Sean Payton gets fired and wants to take a break from being a head coach and joins our staff as a coordinator. I can dream!

I'd even take Paytons' OC, Pete Carmichael. A fairly young guy who has been with Payton for 9 years and is handling all the offensive playcalling this year.

The man has been a starting QB in the league for 9 season now Raine.  I don't know why they just don't turn him loose by scripting up the plays and formations that he really likes and have the complete mastery over.  When he is in the hurry up they seem to get in a very sharp, crisp and consistent rhythm.  To me, that gives them greater confidence that they can move the ball and score at will.

I saw a video one time of Payton and Brees sitting down together and going over their game plan for a particular game.  In the video, Payton asked Brees which formations and plays did he like for a given down against the opposing team.  Whatever Brees liked; Payton put it in.  I don't know why our coaches don't aid Flacco like that?

If you had a Dez Bryant,AJ Green, Brown, Beckham etc I would not have so much of a problem with throwing short

of the 1st down marker.

We do not have the talent for it

We always have seemed to have an issue getting YAC. SSR is the only one who seems to fight for every inch and doesn't go down at first contact. Crockett used to be good at fighting for extra yards but he hasn't been the same since he's been hurt for awhile. Maybe Boyle can give us a little spark. He was certainly a pleasant surprise last year and outplayed maxx by far. He bulldozed and jumped over defenders like it won't no thing.

Yes. We have Wallace, Smith, Perriman and Moore, they all are fast and can beat defenders in open field so we should throw it long more often imo.

Our offensive talent level is nowhere near what it should be.  Or, once again, we're just not using this personnel properly.  I think it is a mixture of both.

If we had one of those types of players, we would have the money for that kind of talent. And if we didn't have it, we would find a way to get it.

yup and have even more holes to fill on this team.

there is a cap so money you need to keep that kind of talent will have to be taken for somewhere else.
