that just leaves the jets and raiders needing head coaches. the jets seem like the only threat to take rex. i was kinda hopin the rams took garret so the jets had more options.

Well, I couldn't even think of what our defense would've been like without Mike Nolan when he first left, but we turned out OK. And I wasn't even a football fan yet, but before that, I bet a lot of people couldn't have even fathomed what our defense would've been like without Marvin Lewis.

This is a business. These things happen. [i]When[/i] Rex leaves, is a mere formality; whether he leaves NOW to take a head coaching job, or LATER, is a different story. And if he were to be a lifer with the team, well, that'd be an extreme rarity in this business.

i know i agree but IF we were to lose it would be nice to have him back at least one more year to make another run.

I think all the really good D-Coordinators have either DC jobs elsewhere or HC jobs.
Ideally,I think we need to keep Rex this year and hope Marvin Lewis gets fired next year.

Successful teams always get raided for their assistants. I have faith that if Rex goes, we'll be fine. Shoot...maybe daddy will come out of retirement and teach us the ways of the 46. Of course...he wasn't very well liked...kind of like how Rex is to some extent. But whatever...we'll be fine.

Gruden won't be any DC. I'm willing to bet that Snyder or the Redskins won't be able to hold of the temptation of having a guy like Gruden coach his team. Zorn will be a delayed coach to go.
