Week 11: The Good, Bad and Ugly post game vent/rant Cowboys

We don't deserve to win if we can't stop the opposing team's offense once in the second half and let them dictate the game. That's never going to be a recipe to win. For everyone who thinks Jimmy Smith is trash, wouldn't it have been nice to have him out there instead of putting our rookie 5'9 corner or Wright on him?

So you give him no credit for driving down the field for the rushing TD?  If it isn't thrown into the endzone it doesn't count?

you are seriously happy with his numbers vs the cake schedule we've have the last 10 weeks? a 1:1 td to int ratio?

I felt that there were three missed DPIs. The one on Steve Smith early in the game and the one on Kamar Aiken seemed to be fairly obvious. We obviously could've played better, so I'm not mentioning this as the reason we lost, but it's worth pointing out.

No i thought that beginning drive was perfect.   But he did jacksquat afterwards until garbage time @ 4th quarter.

I don't have to give him credit for being the king of 3&out @1st half do I ?

pretty sure he can after the cowboys score some point and they dont go onside and get it or we dont turn it over on  the kick off lol

We had four possessions in the second half. One ended due to a penalty, one ended in a TD and one was the last possession of the game. The defense didn't leave the offense much time to work with on the clock after we scored the Smith TD and Dallas responded with a drive that killed all but 1:40/1:50 left in the game and down two scores. If we hold them or keep them from kicking a field goal, maybe Flacco gets us down the field. Maybe we score again but that's a what if game.

All I'm saying is you can't win if you don't stop the opposing team and you don't have the ball.

Dak was rattled early when our pass rush was getting there. Once that fell off, Dak got hot, Elliott became a larger part of the offense, and it was all downhill from there.

This thread is about the Dallas game.  If you want to Fuss about the whole season, then take it to the Flacco thread.

The entire football world is laughing at us today. #1 ranked defense looked like Swiss cheese. Offense was pathetic and was embarrassing . It's time to face the facts about our team. A team of under-achievers , rife with sub-par talent and over-paid half-wits. This is a team poorly coached and should be totally revamped from the top all the way down to the waterboy ( who by the way fell down running out during a break to bring water)

The good: Our needs going into the 2016 Draft, will be still be our needs going into the 2017 Draft.

The bad: Our needs going into the 2016 Draft, will be still be our needs going into the 2017 Draft.

The ugly: 2018 might be the same thing if we don't get some new scouts with vision.

This is exactly the defense you'd expect with no Jimmy Smith playing. Were we really surprised?

Excuses. Halfway through his 5th season and all the same garbage game after game after game, season after season, the time for excuses is over. So why were they alright without him in the first half? Suddently they realized "hey, Jimmy ain't here! " and played like crap? No it wasn't that. It was aggressive vs scared. That was the difference between the first half and the last 2 mins of the half, plus the 2nd half.

That's the point. 2 calls against Zuttah were phantom calls (blocking while the whistle hadn't blown and the running back was not down - the last holding call where the replay clearly showed that he wasn't engaged was Joe broke containment). Even his 1st marginal holding call was suspect given that the same technique was being used by the Dallas line all game - with no calls.

Just saying...give Zuttah a break. He played hard and was key to those big run plays that we had and stopping middle pressure on passing plays.

Exactly. Refs have put us back this game more than you can expect, even against the everybody's darlings. That wasn't a level playing field.

you also cant win if your offense cant sustain drives nor cant  score any points.

You can cry all you want and yes you are right the Ravens are not very good but we are still in first place in the NORTH!

Not once!! Its crazy .Not even Tom Brady would win a game in this type of scenario ! Never

Yes you can, you hold them to 3 and when you get the ball you score, we got the ball as much as they did in the second half, we didn't do crap with it

Yeah we need more depth behind Jimmy Smith. Think we all knew that.

We need to draft better, I like Ozzie but I would like to see someone else control our draft board just once.

Bro , not gonna win when you don't force a single punt. Sorry to burst your bubble . Not gonna happen.

Even by your logic, we didn't do that. The defense held them to 3 just twice in the entire game and the last time was basically put the game out of reach. Down two scores with less than 2 minutes on the clock with no timeouts? Come on, unless we had a Wallace 75-TD, there was probably no way we could score twice to win. This game was a complete team loss. Defense has to make one critical stop and the offense has to convert on the limited chances that they had.

And when exactly did they hold them to 3 other than the end of the half? And only then because it was the half and time ran out. Oh and at the end which just was essentially to put the game out of reach.

Not crying , stating the very obvious. Also, after the first drive, which I thought was creative, we went flat. I can't understand why we can't develop a fluent Offense, year in and year out!

So garbage time to you is a TD drive to bring the team within 7 pts to tie with 11 minutes left?

No consistent pass rush...

DB's giving way too much cushion...

Defense gives up 1st & 30...

Defense can't get off the field and failed to force 1 punt in the 2nd half...

Wright, wright, wright...damn!

lol.... Reading a lot of the posts here anymore I think many just watch the Red Zone and their fantasy board.  So much nonsense and complete ignorance.

There is a reason the CBs plays a little off. You guys need to read this article, http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000562963/article/aqib-talib-among-dbs-using-potent-technique-to-generate-picks

We just don't have the talent to execute. Young is a promising CB, but he was playing out of position on the outside and he was going against 6'0 receivers. This team needs to do a better job at finding depth and playmakers. The Cowboys secondary was injured, and they did a good job nullifying the receivers. We have to do a better job drafting.
