[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Dallas Cowboys

29 posts in this topic

I wish they still had the "Probable" listing because everyone important has practiced this week so they are going to play.. a 50/50 label is falicy. Yanda,Mosley, Jernigan Sizzle Weddle etc..

The only question really was Jimmy and coach said hes going to play, plus he came out today after media left. So ...

Everyone important should be full go...

I tell you what...if they try to hold out anybody Im not watching the game.. now is the time to make that run.

So coach said Jimmys going to play, and he practiced today after media left. Your best CB better play. Etc
Cant have key defensive cogs out vs top offense

Without Jimmy Smith, Yanda, and Mosley, this will be a very different game - closer to the 7 point spread in favor of the 'boys than the closer game I was hoping for.

Elvis has left the building again. Just quite and give the spot to someone else.

It was pretty obvious to me that he was gearing up for a return against Cincinnati. Gives him one more week to come back fresh against not only a conference but divisional opponent. That game is much more important. If there's another setback after that then I'm sure he will be moved to IR.

Once again, I feel that Doom is done!  Time for us to move on.

Ray can say what he want about Joe, but at least he shows up to play. He tears up his knee and gets beat up behind a poor offense line but still finds a way to play. Guys like Jimmy, Gilmore and Doom get dinged, soft tissue injuries and can't play. Same dudes on the injury report almost every week.

Not having Jimmy out there would be a real kick in the gut, Even if the D is able to find a way to stop Elliott, Dez will have a field day against any of our other corners. My excitement for this game is dwindling fast.

We match up so well vs Dallas. But a big part of that has to do with Jimmy and Timmy. I super bummed too. Figured we'd be healthy coming off a mini bye. WTH. Fingers crossed that Jimmy plays

Put Young on him Hell! Give him some thing to eat? He is a beast!

Who? Why would you just cut a pro bowl caliber player, and put, I guess, a guy from the practice squad in his place? Having Doom on the roster is not hurting us...if he's still too injured to play, he simply goes on the game day inactive list. If he can play, he's that much of an experienced veteran who can still disrupt opposing offenses...You need to face the fact that there is absolutely no one else out there that has a shred of his talent, so you can be mad about his injury (which I'm sure he's not faking it, so don't know why people are so upset - guys do get injured playing football), but it would make zero sense, and actually be detrimental to get rid of him at this point in the season.

Nooo that's not fair to young! dez is a top 5 WR when healthy while young is still a rookie. This could crush his development. I really hope Jimmy plays but if he doesn't then I'd rather have powers, Davis, or wright on dez (with safety help)

I could not disagree more. Young is FAR and AWAY our best corner after Jimmy. He would easily do the best vs Dez than those other guys. I can't even believe you mentioned Wright to be honest. I think Tavon can limit Dez. He's a straight baller. Nobody told Young, Dak, or Zeke that they're rookies. Doesn't always apply. Young with Safety help is the way to go if no Jimmy. No way it would crush his developement if Dez had a good game, cuz like you said, top 5 wr vs rookie. nothing to get down on if it didn't go well. But I think it would. Davis and Wright have been owned this year. And Powers doesn't match up any better vs Dez and Young is way better. Plus, going against your theory, if Young had a stellar game vs Dez imagine how much that would speed up his developement and boost his confidence. He would know he could cover anybody. And People always get WAY to caught up with numbers. Revis was the best corner of my generation and he is 5'11. TWO inches taller than young. I would bet anything Young can outjump Revis by more than 2 inches too. Speed and how numbers don't mean as much if you play bigger and faster than you track in shorts and a t shirt. SSS, my favorite athlete of all time is a PRIME example of that. Everyone has their own opinion, but if Jimmy's not out there, I say Young has to shadow him the whole game no matter what, with safety help of course.
