Ray needed to shut the hell up. Joe carried he and Ed to a Super bowl. In Ray's mind, the Ravens got hot because he announced his retirement. It just his way of drawing attention and violating the brotherhood code.

Where was his Rah Rah spirit to lead the defense in 2008 Steelers marched 92 yards to win the division, in 2010 giving 3rd and 19 in the divisional playoff, and 2012 when the defense almost blew a 22-point lead in the Superbowl.

Through accusations of murder, PED usage and everything else, the organization never turned on Ray.

Joe should have turned to the camera and said Ray Hush!.

R u serious or being sarcastic?. Ray has A statue for his legacy to be remembered in conjunction A future first ballot hall of famer. He was the Ravens. Now it's flacco' team do your research. His presence alone= super bowl ring no Ray no ring . His whole body of work = extroidanary. Learn some respect and you will receive it.

Flacco has NEVER been a good regular season QB. Ray Lewis,Vinnie & Rob or Mike Preston don't have to tell you that . The man was motivated to get his big pay day and he's just collecting a check at this point. Draft a Qb Ravens, he won't get any better.

Can you imagine the players we could've added for his money if we kept tyrod for nothing for a few years?

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much Ray Ray! This team is "RELENTLESS" and that's something Joe isn't and is why I feel we lost those games that we should have won if Joe just pushed a little harder! Some people would have thrown the O line under the bus and blamed the entire season on them when it all falls on our QB! #1 defense and a good QB = Lombardi Trophy!

It really doesn't matter what Far Below Average Joe's personality is like. The problem is, he's always been a far below average QB. 83% lifetime rating. But the proof is in the pudding. Just look at the Raven's record before and after Ray. This team has been totally absent of any leadership (other than Suggs, who is now having some trouble staying on the field) since the SB.

Yes! Yes! and Yes! I even harped on that with regards to the Orioles wasting their money when they resigned Chris Davis. SMH

Remember folks, actions are spoke louder than words. I had recently heard that Joes current on the road QB rating is at 66. Ouch! Comments, now?

There is no team record before Ray.

K.O. and then we draft a great secondary.

That really surprises me. I can't believe Ray would do that. I'm really disappointed. You would think that playing with Joe for 5 or 6 years, he would know him better than that.

Yeah, I don't get Ray. If you want to motivate someone, you don't do it by public embarrassment. You meet your "brother" and "former teammate" in private or you pick up a phone.

Just food for thought...... Have you ever considered what this team would be like WITHOUT Joe's cool, calm, keep-it-together demeanor ?? He NEVER throws his teammates under a bus, he always takes responsibility for the game and his play, and from all I read here in what all the players in all these articles say about Joe is nothing but respect and that he IS a team leader in every aspect. I've seen plenty of emotional, outspoken, QBs over many years in this league, and it isn't what always works for many teams. Not one fan knows what really goes on regularly in the locker room, on the practice field, or on game day, people just make assumptions on what they see in t.v. shots during a game, NO fan knows what goes on behind the scenes. Personally, I would much rather have a Joe Cool, than a Joe blow emotional hot-head. ??

perfect post!! i have sat behind the ravens bench many times and he does more than what they show on tv. they just do not show him as much as the qb's like brady because he is not popular and is more on the boring side i guess. hope for a big win tomorrow

Right.  But FBAJ has been much better with Ray, than without.  My bad.

Look, Ray is just gonna be Ray. He enjoys being in the lime light, no matter if it's good publicity or bad. I agree with Steve Smith Sr. that in the end it's just one man's opinion, and that no one plays as long as Joe has, and won a championship, without having any passion for the game. As long as his current team mates got his back and don't mind his style, why worry about what a retired player who isn't in the locker room anymore thinks?

I wouldn't put to much into it...I'm sure Joe knows how Ray likes to stir up controversy and shrugs it off. I'm willing to bet you'll see a picture of them laughing it up after the season is over. Pretty much a non - issue that is getting a lot of press, which is exactly what Ray likes...

Yeah, a bunch of guys way overpaid at their positions and a QB who doesn't scare anybody...

No one is saying Ray is a much better player than Flacco or what he has meant to the Organization. However, throwing a teammate under the bus or calling him out in the media is not what he should have done. They gave Ray bait to throw his former QB under the bus and he swallowed it whole instead of framing his responses more carefully.

The world is definitely ending. Baltimore Ravens fans are speaking badly of THE Ray Lewis. Right or wrong... I could never side with Flacco over Ray. It's like picking a Mcdonalds chicken sandwich over a Chic fil a chicken sandwich. Sorry Joe I'm team Ray.

That was not an option. He would have been paid well and the Ravens did not see that as a valid expense. PLUS He wanted a shot to start. Then he got it.

So, Ray can speak badly of a current player, but the fan's shouldn't voice their opinion of someone who isn't even on the team any longer and has no clue of the dynamics of this locker room...Ray Lewis is one of my all tyme favorite Raven's, but blindly (or deafly) taking everything he says as THE TRUTH, end of discussion, is just sad. Some people need to realize that Ray is RETIRED and says things on television to keep his name in the spot light.

And by the way, Chic fil a chicken sandwich is just another greasy fast food sandwich in my opinion, so your analogy leaves me with a choice between two nasty tasting burgers...Hey, just like the last election!

Perhaps fans and former players want an intense QB or a demonstrative character aka Brady. I know that when Joe is bland I fall into the same trap. I must say that that personality trait is what we all want because we all are emotional. I sat with my comrades in the first half of that Cleveland game and disgruntled feelings were present when two FG's were all we could muster in the first two quarters I firmly believe Joe should play no huddle. It seems he infuses the tempo of the game. Baltimore fans winch when Joe can't produce.

You don't call yourself 52liveforever for nothing I too, like energy and Joe doesn't emerge as the fiery leader. However, playing D with Ray can make any one smash their foreheads into walls

Lol.......you act like he's some sort of god or something. Ray was one of the best LBs to ever play the game and I was a huge fan, but let's not get carried away. He sucks bad as an analyst and should just give it up. His commentary really adds zero value to the discussions. Every time he opens his mouth it has to circle back to him and "I played 17 years, blah, blah ,blah."  And he should be singing the praises and providing encouragement to the man that got him his second ring, because Ray had very little to do with the successes of the 2012 season or the SB win where his QB was the MVP.

Though I'm not always a fan of Flacco, as he has made his fair share of boneheaded decisions, and sometimes he can be frustrating, I do like his demeanor. It doesn't necessarily give him tremendous entertainment value, but if you get subtle humor, you can appreciate him nevertheless.

As to Ray, I have tremendous respect for him as a player. What he has accomplished on the field in the 17 years he played is phenomenal. Almost all the Ravens fans from where I am love the Ravens because of Ray originally. He's also great with inspiring passion in others, and his talks are so potent in energy, it's awe inspiring. However, at the same time, if you only take the words, they have no structure, and half the time make no sense. If you transcribe them, they lose almost 100% of their value, because they are somewhat about the impression and little about the message.

In terms of coherence and sense, Reed over Lewis any day.

Yes, Ray use to praise him all the time. Ray just wants to be heard, He misses running his mouth and everybody kissing up. Hell he is even lousy doing commentary on football games

I actually think Ray is prity darn good at what he's doing. And remember that it was Ray who called this team Flaccos team and urged the team to rally around him. Someone has to light a fire under Joe and the coaches can't do it at this point in Flaccos career for various reasons. Teammates can try but that could split the locker room. Suggs even tried early in the season but backed off. So why not have Ray light a small fire and let SSS and others rally the team and back their QB. This is exactly what we needed!

Yes.
I LIove Ray
I Love Joe
I'm surprised by Ray.
All I want from Joe is to read the coverage and pick the best matchup(s), throw on the breaks... Use that strong @ss arm and throw it in there.
Go Ravens!
