If That measley comment struck a nerve in a Football Locker Room in 2016.. we need some testosterone capsules.. I really don't like when we reach for news stories that doesn't feel real..

Standing up for your teammate is very manly.

This is probably one of the best things that could have happened. The right thing at the right time. Reminds me of the dirty dozen scene where in order to transform twelve convicted felons, with an affinity for violence and no desire to work together, into a cohesive, effective team to do a job behind enemy lines. In boot camp, The men were told they wouldn't have any hot water to wash or shave with as a punishment.
One of the dirty Dozen, Franko (Played by John Cassavetes) steps up to complain about it.
After addressing the men, Maj Reisman (Played by Lee Marvin) leans over to his second in command and says,
"Hey, I really think we got something.
Yeah, it's what the Navy calls "mutiny. "
No, no. Remember what I was saying
last night about 12 rugged individualists?
So?
You heard them. It was "WE ain't gonna
do this and WE ain't gonna do that. "
When I asked them to step forward,
even Posey joined in.
I'll bet you he's been shaving
in cold water since he was a kid.
Boy, do I love that Franko.
That means that we are going to have
that much more time for work.
Right?
So now, if you. . . .
"dirty dozen" have no objections. . .
we will get our equipment and start right now!". . .

This could add that something extra we'll need to beat Dallas Sunday!!!

The last time a team mate called Flacco out it was Ed Reed and it lit a fire under him. Ray is right. I don't care if youre a rah rah guy or not. There is a thing called team spirit and as a leader you need to show it, not go sit by yourself on the bench with a blank look on ur face.

That is quite an assumption there, that Ed's comments motivated him. Plenty of teammates have said that he shows it.

You no nothing. You are not in the locker room and only see what you want to see. Joe is not a show off like some of the others. You has plenty of support so don't go off the deep end because of a comment by Ray.

Man this is what Joe needs. Somebody have to call him out and lit the fire under Joe. Ray is trying to help Joe out. This might wake up Joe .

Ray SHOULD have been opinion savvy enough with the media that this may have not been taken well.
I may add that I am tired of hearing that Joe lead us to the Super Bowl victory.
He did have a great stat run, HOWEVER, the Ravens (as a collective team) won the Super Bowl, while Joe was the QB.....or, Joe was on the Super Bowl winning team.

O-line, block so we can run the ball and throw less. block so he has time to throw on target. Receivers, get open, so he has a target. One man, no matter how vocal, or quiet, does not win against another TEAM!

Flacco needs to step up. Bad OL, sketching running and receivers that don't get open consistently.....even loud mouth Smith Sr. I will admit Joe is having his worst year and throws to0 many inaccurate balls when his guys are open.

I don't have a problem with Ray's comments. It is what it is and it's the opinion of one of the greatest player who has ever played the game. - Mr. Ray Lewis. He's entitled to his own opinion and I don't think he needs written permission and/or approval from us or anyone else to expressed his thoughts whenever deemed necessary.

Ray just happened to say it publicly. Many have expressed similar sentiments here. Flacco is reserved and laid back. It is not his personality to be outspoken. However, leaders need, sometimes, to move outside their comfort zone to serve the greater purpose.

this is great. it gets the team to rally behind it's offensive leader and further separates this team from a passed era... don't know if he meant it like that or just pandering for ratings, but kudos

I just want him play like the $120 million quarterback we are paying for.Tired of watching him suck with back foot lobs. I actually like the way Joe is and his personality. He is a great guy. Yes, he won us a Super Bowl and deserves respect for that alone but come on man he is hard to watch at times. We have been dealing with the slow starts for years now and he is common denominator.

Ray Lewis was one of the greatest players to ever play the game but I question why he's making these comments now. Remember when he was a free agent and he told Dallas he always wanted to be a Cowboy because it was his favorite team or whatever. Now this week we're playing the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas and he bring up the same old thing he had to answer in the past about Joe. I always thought once you're a Raven you're always one? If he had a problem with Joe play this year why not talk to him privately to see if it's something he can do or say to encourage him to play better. Ray made personal calls throughout his career to other players, especially those who were from " The U ". Those phone calls wasn't just about catching up. It was about encouraging them. Why didn't he do that for his fellow RAVEN. Ray Lewis will always be my favorite Raven but since he retired it seem like his attitude changed towards the Ravens. Last year was one of our toughest years EVER because of injuries. Why didn't he come to practice to talk to the young players that had to step up and play. They could've used some extra motivation from one of the greatest RAVENS to ever play. Ray Lewis only come to the Ravens when they honor him. Johnathon Ogden after he retired came around the team all the time. Still do.

I am not comparing Flacco to Unitas except in one respect--Unitas never showed emotion on any play ( I watched him for years) Flacco shows more emotion , watch his reaction to a TD pass. Leadership takes many forms. Ray's vision represents what he was as a player and that's what he expects of "good leaders". Ray would have not been impressed with Unitas or others who differ from his vision -- and that's his prerogative.

Flacco has NEVER been a good regular season QB. Ray Lewis,Vinnie & Rob or Mike Preston don't have to tell you that . The man was motivated to get his big pay day and he's just collecting a check at this point. Draft a Qb Ravens, he won't get any better.

Ray said the absolute truth. When Ray came back on his last ride and rallied the troops Joe played lights out his only time in 9 years. He didn't do it before that or after that. There's no need to defend him, just get him to play like that again.

Ray needed to shut the hell up. Joe carried he and Ed to a Super bowl. In Ray's mind, the Ravens got hot because he announced his retirement. It just his way of drawing attention and violating the brotherhood code.

Where was his Rah Rah spirit to lead the defense in 2008 Steelers marched 92 yards to win the division, in 2010 giving 3rd and 19 in the divisional playoff, and 2012 when the defense almost blew a 22-point lead in the Superbowl.

Through accusations of murder, PED usage and everything else, the organization never turned on Ray.

Joe should have turned to the camera and said Ray Hush!.

You really believe Ray's retirement speech was the difference? SMH... They won in spite of Ray. Vernon Davis was abusing Ray in the Superbowl. Brady and Manning were finding him in every game.
