[News] Late For Work 11/18: Ray Lewis' Take On Joe Flacco's Inconsistent Play; Ravens-Cowboys Predictions

88 posts in this topic

Simple really. Lewis heard Joe's general comments about enthusiasm on the podcast. It offended him so he decided, classless as he is, to make a personal attack on Joe. Typical. Go Joe and Go Ravens.

One thing for sure Ray did not win that SB Joe did. Ray missed so many tackles it made your head swim. Jacoby was a big part of the victory but Joe was the big winner. Too bad some fans have a convenient memory. Who cares if you like him or not. There isn't anything out there any better. Go Ravens.

Ray said this to bring attention to Ray!  I loved Lewis as a player and he does great things for the community.  However, he is HORRIBLE as an analyst and just wants to bring attention to himself.  Just because Joe doesn't have his leadership style does not mean he is not a leader.  Ray-Do us all a favor and use your passion to help out the community and leave Flacco alone!  If he (or anyone else for that matter) want to criticize Flacco's play--Fine--He deserves that because we all know Flacco has not played well this year.--But don't question his leadership--That leadership helped bring you a 2nd title!

Don't assume you know what I meant- I only said this was for Joe's ears, as well. I didn't say Ray was right, and I didn't say it was something Joe needed to hear. Frankly, I don't much care what Ray, four years after his last game, has to say,at this point in time...

And Ray Lewis getting hurt almost cost Joe his ring. Ray was disingenuous not to mention that Joe, super bowl MVP Joe with the exact same demeanor, was the reason he got his second ring. We won that super bowl because of Joe's amazingness and despite the ineffectiveness of an injured Ray.

I didn't know the defense of ineffective in the playoffs or super bowl, you must've watched a different playoff run than I did. The defense basically was mute when Lewis was out, they lost 4 of their last 5. And when he came back they started back playing Ravens defense.  And we all know Jacoby Jones should've won that Super Bowl MVP.

They were average at BEST during that S.B run G.

I love Ray but you are correct! The D was average at best.

Passion is a feeling......you have no idea how Joe feels. You do not have to show it to feel it.

However, we know what we see on the field weekend and week out....  A lack thereof.

I say as much.  Yes, Jacoby no doubt was the MVP and should have won it.

Joe had passion ! when he needed to renew his contract.

How true!  They always seem to play a little better in a contract year.  He hasn't done "Jack" since.  Go figure!

Boldin carried Joe to a SB.

Yes, he did and got cut so we could pay Flacco another man's worth.  How ironic.

Ray Lewis.... This surprises me. He knows how Joe is. This blew my mind. Maybe it was for "the media hype", but it was wrong. I lose a little respect for him for this. He fell right into their trap.

Well, except for all of 2014.

Straight on! Some people like to alter reality...Much as I liked Ray, all of your comments are right on target.

Here we go again. This is absolutely FALSE! Flacco's contract had nothing to do with us letting Boldin go. If you want to be angry about Boldin, direct your anger to the correct source. The continued ignorance on this topic really amazes me.

Quick shout out to Sarah E... Always look forward to your articles... keep up the great work...
To Flacco and Lewis haters... WOW!
Hey, takes at TEAM to win. Period.
Did you listen to Joe on the Lounge? Takes offense AND defense to go the distance and that is all that matters to him. Winning.
Ray is a passion guy that plays with passion. That is what he wants. I Love his statue next to Johnny U's. In my eyes, the best middle linebacker ever. Great.
No less love for Joe. I appreciate having a level headed QB. I REALLY enjoyed the lounge broadcast because it confirmed to me that we really do have a great QB... Sure, I want him to 'step into the throws' but what I want more than that is for him to use that strong @ss arm and commit early to a receiver and drill it in there. Don't wait for them to get open, throw it to them in the open (i.e. off the break).
Go Ravens!!!

Of course Joe helped Ray get a 2nd title, but Ray helped Joe get his 1st title. Dont ever forget that. Ray doesn't need the attention. Joe has always lacked leadership. Ray is not asking Joe to be rah rah, he is asking Joe to sit next to his guys and chat, talk, converse, "this is what we did right/wrong, this is how we are gonna fix it, next drive we should try to exploit this weakness..." the way a Payton Manning or any other non-rah rah but still a great leader would gather his troops. Joe is a one man show on the sideline. If Joe could he would be watching TV on an iPad on the sideline while the D is on the field. For someone making $120M to play a TEAM sport, totally unacceptable!

I initially came down hard on Ray.  Still think he could have handled the question differently but I didn't see it like this earlier until I went back and re-read his statement over and over.

Yeah, Joe was key in winning the SB and it was about time...he was key in losing us some playoff victories in prior years, since we are assigning wins and losses to individuals.
