Heres what i like to see. 8 Teams instead of 6 in each conference. No first round byes everybody plays. Why not? The NBA and NHL does this. Fans want to see season expand right? 8 teams instead of 18 weeks in regular season.

Why? I think 6 teams with a first round bye is dumb. Its ether 8 or 4 teams in playoffs? That means you must win your division to get in. If you don't win your division then you go home.

I don't want to reward mediocre teams, or to decrease the quality of playoff games.

Then get rid of wild cards. If you don't win your division you go home.

But wouldn't that cut down on the playoffs? Aren't you arguing about expanding the playoffs?

No. I think its fine the way it is, however I would like to see the seeding be different.  Should just be by record.  So if we are a wildcard team and won 11 games, we shouldn't have to go play an away game to a team that won their division but only won 8 games

My point is this,,,Everybody supposed to play,,NO BYE WEEK. If you do 8 teams that expands the season. Its like just a regular extra sunday with 8 games you can watch FOX and CBS selected playoff game in your area 1:30PM games teams home games in east coast. 4:30 Games teams home games in West Coast.  If playoff game isn't televised in your area then watch it on NFL SUNDAY TICKET

I don't have an issue with this. Just be good enough to win your division.

The current wildcard teams usually have good records though. Like a 10-6 or at worse 9-7. If you expanded it, we'd get a lot more 8-8  and 7-9 teams making it in.

So? Let 8-8 or 7-9 teams in they wont get past the first round and those teams will play the top seed team at their ballpark

Why would you want to let those teams in? It doesn't really do anyone any good to bring them into the playoff fold.

I honestly think the current playoffs is the best system. The division winners and the two best non-division winners of each conference makes the most sense.

Add more playoff teams and continue to water down the current state of the NFL? It's already bad with the quality of the games going to the waste side thanks to all the stupid rules.

I'd much rather see NFL expand from 32 teams and add more teams than see more playoff games.

Cleveland and Houston should never got the expansion. Baltimore and Los Angeles had to wait a long time to get the NFL back. So why should Cleveland and Houston get the NFL back in less than 4 years when they lost their team? Only thing i like to see expand is the roster from 53 to 60 men

If a defensive player uses his helmet on a play and if its dangerous hit refs should look at replay see if its an deliberate act. If it is defense gets 15 yard penalty and automatic ejection and you're suspended the next game. I like this rule.

Let's find a way to slow the game down even more...makes sense!

Well i think it makes sense. Don't target a player and you wont be penalized.

Comon there are a lot better ways to measure for the first down. When you drag those sticks out it holds up the game plus it gives a team a free time out, I say a referee carries a 10 yard measuring tape from his pocket. One holds the tape where the line of scrimmage is and roll tape to where ball is, Its faster and doesn't hold up the game.

You come up with the strangest topics.

I always wondered why they couldn't use a computer chip setup with how technology is advancing, I mean there is a lot of variables with that which could go wrong.

With  your idea, how do they keep track where the LOS is?

Then each play the single ref with the tape has to run all the way back to the LOS, have another ref hold it, then run to were the ball was, just to figure out that its 2nd and 1?  Seems very efficient

Charles,,, the old way holds up the game. I can hear some boos from the crowd when refs do this.

That's probably because they're mad that there's even a measurement... They probably think it should or shouldn't be a first down, depending on the team...

The 33 yard extra point try is a stupid rule!  Did anybody see a lot of PATs missed? Goodell has got to go!!! Why not just eliminate the extra point try and make Touchdown 7 points? If you decide go for 2 if you fail you get 1 point taken away. Or why not place the ball on 5 yard line and drop kick the PAT?  33 Yard PAT is stupid rule!!!
