[News] Ravens Promote DB Asa Jackson, Place DT Willie Henry On Injured Reserve

21 posts in this topic

So what was his injury? Guy hasn't played all year, and he mysteriously hurts himself? Did he get a serious case of hemmroids from sitting on the bench, or fall down a couple flights of stairs? Anything serious, or the Raven's just figured they weren't going to use him this year, so toss him on the IR so no one else can claim him? No answer in this article. Pretty spotty reporting...

On a side note, I like the name "Pughsley"...Now THAT is a football name! If Madden was still announcing games, he'd have a field day and mention this guy every chance he got.

I like Asa Jackson on Special Teams, but not as a returner. He also got some bonehead penalty's last year before he was cut the 2nd time. I want to know when is Campanaro coming back?

Just the nature of doing business in the NFL. If I was to look at the Ravens and think, where does this team need help, I would guess on offense, more specifically wide receiver. Which would lead me to activate Campanaro who is just as good as Asa Jackson on the punt return side and is probably better than all but two wide receivers we have. Joe needs to get the ball out quick, other than SSS we don't have that quick twitch guy who can get open from the line, the only other guy who meets that criteria is Campanaro.

The Ravens has become a world of fake injuries, overblown talent, patchwork drafts, questionable decisions, hazy doghouses, etc...

Verrry interestink! I wonder if they are looking for a punt returner that won't wave for a fair catch the instant the ball is snapped.

When the NFL starts playing touch football.

It's amazing that Campanaro gets that much love ??.  In 2 years the kid played in 8 games and had a total of 12 receptions for 137 yards and 1 TD. Granted he wasn't targeted much.   But I don't think he's done enough to say he's a better option than Aiken, Perriman or C.Moore.

I mean I was pumped about the chances of him being an underneath option for Flacco to pick up some third downs, but definitely don't see him being our W.Welker.

The defensive line has been very strong so it's understandable why Henry hasn't seen the field any. But interesting to be placed on IR without ever playing a down of football and with limited padded practices these days. I know a couple of games he was listed as ( inactive Coach's decision ) so I wonder if he's ever been on the injury report lol.   I mean does the League ever look into teams putting players on IR?

So that's Kaufusi, C.Davis & W.Henry all on IR and the D-line is still strong. If any one of those 3 becomes a player we could be set for a few years although a tough decision looms with B.Williams potential payday.

Asa is what we call a Loose Canon. Can be effective but you just never know when he is going off and do some thing nuts.

After a 10 day hiatus, lets hope that our offense is no longer sour-vanilla.
Leads us Joe. Prove that you are near the worth that both you and your agent claim.

If retread Asa Jackson is the best the Ravens can find, Smith and Young better stay healthy. I don't understand this move. Jackson was cut, "bounced around other teams", then the Ravens resign him. Seriously? If he was any good, he wouldn't have been cut in the first place. If others thought he was any good, he wouldn't have "bounced around". Maybe I am missing something but it makes no sense to me.

He's coming back to play special teams and that's probably it

I remember a member here saying that Willie Henry was the "nastiest" player drafted this year and was going to have a great year.  Guess Henry didn't develop those 9-12 lbs of quick twitch muscles.

The roster of guys injured or suspended would make for a pretty good football team.

Good luck to Willie Henry, who should enjoy his redshirt year and be ready to contribute in 2017

Yeah, I don't see the reasoning behind activating Asa at this point. this is definitely a Jerry move to get more speed on ST.

When Did ASA sign back with the Team? I didn't even know he was in town again. I thought he was cool though.. But Ever Since the Boldin, Pollard, Days.. I have been so confused to who is really on our Roster.. I used to could name the Roster and Practice Squad.. Now I barely know anybody..
