Okay if I AM, talking to people about the purple shades, you know something has gone out of whack.

First of all calling Cowboys fans cocky and overly optimistic is a whole lot of pot calling the kettle black.   With an 8-1 record they full well have earned the right to be cocky, confident, and optimistic.  We are a 5-4 team, we play like a 5-4 team.  If we were 8-1 and playing a 5-4 team how would we be acting ?  If you say ANYTHING other than JUST LIKE THEM, you are riding a boat in denial.

I don't remember what my second of all was.....

I don't think anyone has called them "overly optimistic," they're having a good season and no one disputes that, and sure you could probably say I'm overly optimistic but I haven't accused Cowboy fans of being that so i'm not being hypocritical there...but there is such a thing as handling success with class, like you have experienced tough seasons before - as both of our franchises have as recently as last year - I don't think you earn the right to be cocky - that right doesn't exist, you either handle success well or you handle it badly and all but maybe one or two fans that I've talked to are not handling wins like an adult. We've had our fair share of winning streaks and I objectively don't go around acting invincible, if anything, during extended winning streaks I'm overly cautious about dropping a supposed "easy one." I have been mostly careful to specifically say "we can" win this game rather than "we will" win this game, except for maybe one or two overly reactionary comments. But even in my prediction post, I still specifically gave them credit and said this game comes down to one team making a big play, and it could be either team. I don't know how many Cowboy fans you've conversed with but I have talked to quite a few over the past few days, I literally went back and forth with one guy who was adamant that it wasn't physically possible to stop their run - not even in the context of us specifically, just in general couldn't be stopped, end of story. I mean there are literally people who've posted things that Cowboy fans have said in this thread and some of them are way over the top and not rational - i.e. saying our defense stands no chance and our defense is worse than [insert team here] and they beat that better team so this week will be a cake walk, false equivalencies like that are what really get me about all this

I'd love to see Doom prove my perception of his ineffectiveness wrong with his getting a sack or 2 or 3 on Sunday if he goes.

I would too, some people said that we don't need another pass rusher given that we're the #1 defense in the league statistically and we have been playing great Football, but wouldn't it make this defense so much better if we had someone who can consistently rush the passer? I think it would.

You got to stop their Oline first. Tough task. But we are the only team capable of doing it in NFL.

Thats a strong statement.  I think there is a couple teams that can hang with our DL but we lack in the outside pass rusher department.  We arent even top ten in sacks.  That might be to our benefit this game.  DL push forward and let the outside rusher contain Dak from evading the pocket, sooner or later we are going to hit him.  This game will come down to how often we can pressure Dak

I have a good feeling our defense can shut them down and bring out plenty of 3&outs.   But it's pointless if our offense cannot stay on the field.   Sooner or later our offense has to outplay their offense.   Once our D gets exhausted its not our defense fault anymore.

I'm not worried about what our pass rush or what our D can do.   We'll give up some points, but Flacco and our passing crew has to beat their 20th ranked secondary.

Don't expect Ravens to win if our first offensive drive goes 3&out again.   You just can't do it vs a 9-1 team.

I agree, if there is a time for Joe to show up, its this game.  This game will depend on the offense and how many points we can score.  I think we will give them a harder game than most think, i dont think elliot goes crazy on us, but i dont know if we shut him down.. This is a true test of both sides of the ball for our team.  Right now we are +7 in vegas, i cant really disagree with that.  I could see this being a FG deciding game.

Yesterday I was so annoyed, but today I'm back to normal and level headed. This'll be a tough one but it has the makings of a hell of a game. Their offense vs. our defense will be a true Goliath v. Goliath matchup, only one unit will survive. We may come away disappointed but I'm sure I'll be glued to the TV from start to finish.

If we have a chance to win this one we're going to have to be firing on all cylinders on defense, preferably both sides of the ball but we simply won't have a chance if the defense isn't playing up to potential. From the sound of things we'll be close to full strength come Sunday if Doom is ready to go - which I think he will be - so it's now or never, we won't have an excuse if we come out and can't stop them.

Has anyone heard anything about Wright? getting him back would allow us to push Tavon into the slot to take on Beasley, which I think would be better overall for us. Without Wright we really have no one else capable of manning the outside guy except Tavon.

EDIT: ok, Wright was a full participant yesterday - http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Whos-Practicing-Whos-Not-vs-Dallas-Cowboys/c1f6a4bd-eb22-458b-8770-c599c4a63caa

I just saw a tweet that said this, and it's really good food for thought-

Dallas has played the "easiest" schedule in the NFL (.369). Dallas is the only team that has not yet faced a division leader.

True but, the Ravens aren't much better in strength of schedule at (.383) so I'm not sure if it's worth thinking too much on.

I believe we are a better teams with Young on the outside and Powers in the slot.  This gets our best three cb on the field.

I agree, I feel Wright has done lost his starting spot at this point for at least this game. No sense in changing what's working.

That's true in most cases, but this week in particular, Dallas' 2nd best WR is Beasley in the slot, Williams on the outside isn't any good, I think Wright could handle him if we want our 2nd best CB on their 2nd best WR, Wright has trouble with big, strong receivers not guys like Williams.

Young will be facing Terrance Williams who is 6'2.Size of a corner isn't everything but I do see  5'11 Shareece Wright as a better matchup against Williams than 5'9' Tavon Young. Young hasn't really faced against taller receivers since he started in place of Wright and for most part The Ravens have made it a point to have him  cover the more shorter/shifty receivers like Antonio Brown , Corey Coleman and etc.

This is definitely a winnable game. The blueprint is there: Dallas's only loss was to the Giants in week 1 when the run game was stuffed and Dak had to throw 45 times. If you stop Elliott and you force Dak to throw, this becomes a winnable game. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Cowboys haven't played very good defenses this year (Giants-16th in yds allowed, Redskins-21st, Bears-11th, 49ers-32nd, Bengals-24th, Packers-10th, Eagles-5th, Browns-31st, Steelers-25th). The Eagles are the best defense they've played (though still behind the Ravens), and that game went to OT. The Packers had a decent showing against the Cowboys offense, but that was a game where the Packers offense gave up an interception and 3 (!!!) fumbles. The Ravens offense is going to need to really step up to make this a competitive game, but the Dallas offense (though it is a great, young offense) might not be the juggernaut its been hailed as.

It was more for the Cowboys posters who are questioning the Ravens schedule.

I'm totally fine admitting the Ravens have had the easier part of their schedule to this point, but Dallas hasn't been much better.

I've always "personally" preferred bigger CB's.  Tavon has been playing well.

Tavon can be a very slot corner and that when we need him in case a corner gets hurt, he could fill the void as the starting corner.

i dont get the idea of putting tavon on different role now that sheerce aka 'TD giver'  is healthy.

Tavon is perfectly fine being in multiple roles.   Based on what cowboy looks are he'll be everywhere from covering Dez/Beasley/T.Williams.

This is a very easy game to predict. This is the start of the second slide as we drop 6 out of the next 7 to finish 6-10 as I predicted before the season began. Dallas will show why we aren't the number one defense in the NFL by putting up 200+ yards rushing and 250 yards passing in a rout 34-10. Cowboys win this one going away.

Willing to wager?  I don't think that's against the rules.

And out of curiosity, who is that lone win?

You can't bet money, but you could have him change his photo or something, as far as I know.

I think we might be able to pull out a victory against the Eagles but that's it. No wagers since that would be easy money for me. Just trust me on this!

Wait a sec you aren't predicting anything of note. Tell you what - if I'm right you have to change your picture to Pee Wee Herman for a week !

I never got involved in this, so I have no idea why you're even talking to me about this.

But sure. The Cowboys, if the Cowboys win by 24 points, I'll do it for a week, no problem. And I'll be active, too, and acknowledge you were right.

But if the Ravens win or they cover the spread (7 points), you have to change it to a picture of my little pony, but I get to pick it.

I was thinking a picture of a troll might be more appropriate.

Sounds almost identical to your prediction of the Steelers game.

I can see you're getting really good at these.
