[News] Rookie Tavon Young Solidifying No. 2 Cornerback Spot

32 posts in this topic

Great to hear and to see such a young buck progress so quickly- unlike some of the other (you know who I am referring to ;) 10 year rookie quarterbacks on the team.
Keep up the hard work, Tavon !
Go Ravens, Go Maalox, and lets hope that we can add the term "steamrolling" BACK into the Raven lexicon!

What really also great is he is a rookie and can be hear 4 years. Maybe by then Ravens can get its finances in good shape to keep him.

I agree that Flacco has not been playing to full potential and should improve on certain aspects of his game but think about it he has been a reliable player for our team. We need to get him good solid timing in the pocket because his natural playing style is relaxed. He cannot go around like rodgers or brady because they are very hot minded.

I have been watching more and more of Tavon Young's college highlights. On think you notice beyond his competitive nature of never backing down is the fact that he covers both the CB and the QB. He uses his eyes and plays the ball. He should be coaching up our DBs lol!

Really exciting looking player, seems to be getting better every game, and is exceeding expectations...not bad at all for a 4th rounder. I especially like his energy and resilience to come back and work harder after a bad game/play. Have to admit, looks like a nice addition.

Glad he has stepped up and played well. We need him during this tough second half stretch to keep playing hard for us. Go Ravens!

keep it up tavon and when you are a stud player at the end of your rookie contract the front office will let you leave for a comp pick that will end up being cut in training camp.

I think this might be the single biggest development this season... if Tavon's stellar play continues our defense will legitimately be enough for us to get to the postseason, god knows our offense wont be helping in that regard.

that 66 yard game winner Beckham had was not Tavonn's fault. He got picked off by Weddle or he would have been there to knock it down or intercept it.

Love this kid's play over the last few weeks, he is consistently in good position and around the football. He deserves to be allowed to hold down the starting job for as long as he plays well, so far he has been at least as effective as Shareece Wright and I would argue he has been better.

This year's draft picks may compensate for the several years of miscues on draft day for the Ravens. I am talking aobut our 4th round picks and Stanley of course. I still believe Stanley is going to redeem himself once he's fully healthy and takes his lumps against good DEs.

I think the reason for him being that low in the draft was because of his height, he is proving the doubters wrong

Let me tell you. I have coached tackle ball, select and club level basketball since my boy was 6. My son is 14 and he has a core of a elite athlete but he is only 5'7. He may grow a few more and wants that height, Yet he still the #1 RB and #1 Safety and at #1 point guard for the basketball team. The athlete is not all height and he is competing in Texas. There are a abundance of elite athletes here.

I'm so proud of this young 22 year old man. He will be great for us for many years. I just can't believe how good he is so early. Really tells you how good the chances are of him becoming a premier shut down corner in this league.

How bad have we needed a #2 CB? And to fill the spot with a 4th round rookie? OMG ... more than we had any right to hope for.

He is going to be a great one! You can see it in his game. He is little but tackles big. I like everything about him and he getting all the big boys that's good. He reminds me of Chris Mc. I believe Webb wears 21 now. Nevertheless, We struck gold where we thought no gold was at? I also believe Orr, is another rookie whos game is A. Remember Doom is not back yet, with the (young) guys doing their thang he can heal all the way no rush? I love Tavons game all around. Keep Powers on special teams! Wright can stay broke up too sorry to say with Ts' game they are not missed.

I rellay like him, but I wouldn't praise him too early. Still has a lot to learn

ordinarily I would agree but I can see this in him. True there will be bad days but for the most part I got him making the pro bowl! Bold Prediction?

Young Dixon and Judon. Best ravens picks in years

Loving Lewis a lot as well....Love the nasty streak in him, and his desire to do better....

Tavon just needs to keep building on his technique and performance each game. I see no reason why he wouldn't have a great career.

I love his potential and his competitiveness! He will be tested this year, and I do not expect that he will have a perfect sheet to show for it, but he's doing more than well enough right now, and I can see him becoming even better over time.

I was among a few ppl who mentioned him pre & post draft. I am glad he's doing well and I am sure he will get better. He's home and I know how that must feel. When you know you got family in the stands cheering for you and you are representing your state, your game elevates.
