We are here for discussion, that is exactly why I asked if you had any information the rest of us didn't. You can share whatever opinion you like. And I just shared mine.

Touche!  Well played.

It seems that every off-season, Flacco has a  new kid.  I love kids.  Don't get me wrong.  But I also know they cost you a lot of sleep, and they get sick a lot.  And I can't help but think, now that Flacco has won a SB, is financially set for life, and has an MVP, what is his motivation?

My wife always used to make the joke on opening day, if Flacco looked bad, "Did he have another kid?"  And we would laugh, and then I would check the Internet, and say, "Yeah, he did!"

Quarterbacks aren't going to wait until they retire to have a family. Philip Rivers has seven kids and Drew Brees has four or five kids for example.  I understand that raising kids takes time and effort, I just don't think that you can make the connection and assume he lost his drive because of that. Do you know that he drove from his house to Baltimore right after the blizzard last year so he didn't miss his rehab? That doesn't sound like someone who has lost his drive. He has said multiple times that he wants more rings. There isn't a reason to think he is lying about that. There is definitely something very wrong with him, I don't think that is it.

Thank you for your explanation though. :)

A pleasure.  Next beer's on me.  ;)

Still, his record since his big payday is absolutely awful.  Can that really be a coincidence?

Flacco's record before his big money:  63 / 30

Flacco's record after his big money:  26 / 26

There is absolutely something wrong. My point is that I don't think it is the money or motivation. You have to consider other factors that have changed since his big money contract, O-line, coordinators, schemes, other players, lack of running game, his injury etc. These are not excuses but factors. I just don't think you can look at the before/after the big money in a vacuum.  I really hope he figures it out soon though, this is very painful.

And make that a glass of wine. :)

Sorry, but this is not all on Joe. The dropped passes, the fumbles, the stupid penalties(at the worst times that kill drives), the pee poor running game and the god-awful coaching decisions by Harbaugh(your team can't score..take the damn points)! So no, it ain't all on Joe.

Agreed.  Which brings us back to the controversy in which Harbaugh fired all the alpha males in the wake of Ray Lewis' departure.  We notably lost Lewis, Reed, Pollard, Boldin, etc.  People have often asked the question:  "Who are the leaders in the Ravens' locker room?"  But it isn't really that we lack leaders.  It's more like we lack people with overwhelming drive and emotionalism.  SSS is the only one on the team right now, IMO.
