Be honest..what was your gut reaction when flacco limped off field..

And Mallet entered the game.

At first I was like oh crap...I've been talking all this junk about flacco and now I'm sad to see him go.

But after the first play I was kinda excited to see what Mallet could do.

You can call out someones play, but that doesn't mean you want them hurt.  My reaction was awwww  [crap].  Didn't give a damn about a warning at that time.  I've seen and know what Mallet can do.  I'd rather not go through that again because even with Joe's flaws he's our best chance to win.

Also me and my friend were watching the game at the bar and I was about 92% sure the thing sticking  out was his knee brace but the other 8% was like dear god please don't let that be his bone. Its funny in retrospect.

At first, oh crap. Second, not this again (referring to 2015 season). Ryan Mallet? If the guy was as half as good as some fair weather fans say he is, he would be on another team doing something.

I still feel like mallet can operate this offense better than flacco has been.  I guess its one thing if we were to bench flacco and know hes on the bench and healthy as opposed to mallet playing but flacco being on the shelf for almost half a year again.

I don't think that's fair...

Obviously his knee brace got caught in the turf...oh no what if his knee brace getting caught in the turf reinjured his surgically repaired knee...Mallet better not come in here and outperform Flacco in this offense...I wonder what type of draft position we'll get if this is it for his season...Steve Smith can't go out with another season like this...Also Weedle deserves to atleast see the playoffs too...I wonder if Weedle is regretting picking Baltimore over Oakland now...NO NO NO I can't sit through another year of tanking.......OH GOOD GOD HE'S RUNNING BACK OUT ONTO THE FIELD!!!!!

I immediately feared the worst, assuming he re-injured the knee. I had hope it wasn't too serious and was very relieved when I found out it was just the brace.

Why is that not fair? How many good QBs in this league do you see voluntarily accepting backup jobs with other options available to them to play behind somebody who rarely gets hurt and has an iron-clad grip on the starting job?

He's taking this job because any other options available to him are lateral moves. Don't you think if just about any team in the league were interested in him we wouldn't take a draft pick for him right now? Like seriously probably any draft pick... 6th round, 7th round, conditional, etc.

Heck, Josh Johnson outplayed him in training camp and I didn't even think it was close.

First reaction was easy... he broke the brace. He didn't look to be in any sort of pain that I saw, and a guy that reinjures a knee like that is going to be in significant pain and show it, regardless of how tough he is.

Him limping straight to the locker room pretty much told me he knew exactly what had happened and he wanted to get it fixed ASAP. If his knee was actually hurting, he either stays on the field, or he limps to sidelines and then gets carted off.

Didn't look like a bone poking out after they showed on the replay.

If Flacco left for rest of the season, it wouldn't have made much difference.    Looking at last season, Flacco was just as bad when we had him before he was injured last season when we had Mallett taking over mid-way.

Flacco is 6TD/7INT with bottom 5 on all stats as starting QB.

I know the life got sucked out of everyone. Especially when he was limping.

That about sums it up for me. Just a feeling of utter defeat, and having to suffer through last year all over again. Last year wasn't fun. I know Flacco isn't having his best year, but he is still our only chance at making a run...I just want to erase last year from my memory and that did no favors

Well at least you're actually acknowledging that we don't actually gain anything by putting Mallett in, since his stats last year were even worse.

Flacco is better than Mallett.  Im not questioning that.

Just pointing out Flacco wasn't any much productive before his injury than he is now with injury recovered.    People seem to point that out as the main factor into why Flacco is doing bad.

What? That doesn't even make any sense.

He was plenty productive in 2015 and prior years before he got injured. Even in "down years" like 2015 and 2013, he's still significantly better by just about any metric than somebody like Mallett is.

No, there isn't really one main reason; it's a slew of things. Some of those things are in his control; most are not.

I know it's part of the game and all, but I hate seeing players being carted off the field; heck, I'd even feel bad for Brady if he go hurt. Well, maybe not too bad lol

I thought nothing of it due to how he got up and just trotted off the field and to the training room.  When I saw Mallet out there I just said, "Don't turn the rock over!"  When Joe game back out all of us in the stadium began shouting and clapping.  While, I'm definitely not a Flacco fanboy as such; I know he's the best option we have at the QB position right now, so I want him out there on the field and to play well and to look good while doing it. :D

Is there a correlation from productive to good?  Because I didn't think he played that good last year posting 14TDs to 12Ints, although, he did have the highest completion percentage in his career.

As far as my reaction, I was pretty worried.  I didn't think it was just the brace because of the way he was limping and that slide just look like it could of jammed his knee up.  I was also scared to death that he would be out for some time and Id have to read the "sit Joe for Mallet' thread

Fans tend to forget these aren't robots on the field.  They are human and do things outside of football like regular people.  I don't ever truly wish for them to get seriously injured.

What QB was it that got injured and the fans cheered, was that Cassel in KC?
