[News] Ravens Say They Still Have Plenty Of Work To Do Despite Moving Into First Place

31 posts in this topic

“Tremendous amount of work to do,” Suggs said. “So, we’ll take the win, but we ain’t satisfied.”

Indeed. A good way to start would be putting up more than 274 yards of offense over the course of one game.

“There’s not disappointment right now. They are tough football games to win,” Flacco said. “But yeah, there is a little frustration in the fact that we’re not playing as well as we want to.”

Harbaugh "I really do believe we have the pieces in all three phases to be very good, but we have to find a way to make it happen and keep trusting in one another, and that’s it.”

Idk who's more delusional Flacco or Harbaugh. I'm so sick of the two of them and their little love affair with each other. This offense sucks and it's not getting any better despite what strides they think they have made.

NO HARBAUGH,you haven't done anything different the last 4-5 weeks, same terrible shoot yourself in the foot offense, win on defense and special teams, and with STANLEY back,NO running game,it's embarrasing to say the least that these guys can't or won't take coaching and a terrible wasted shame because the defense can shut any team down outside of ATLANTA.but i'm glad the team realizes it atleast,if we lost the same things would be said of any other game,FLACCO is UN-ELITE and after 9 seasons, still makes BONE-HEAD MISTAKES! over and over,if MCNAIR or any other CONSISTANT,SMART QB. were playing,we'd be 8-1 or 9-0! he has to go! and put LEWIS back at tackle, atleast we had a tough, strong running game without the penalties.alot of penalties equals BAD coaching.

I think its important to remember through the tough times that we are fans of the Ravens. I hear a lot of people that sound like they would rather support another team. I remember hearing exactly the same thing in 2012 when we lost a couple games in a row. Perhaps we should appreciate what has happened and where we are as we encourage our team to get better. I think hating people, being sick of them and that we suck, sounds like someone who would be better suited supporting a team that is perfect all the time. We have 2 super bowls in less than 2 decades and a QB coming of a serious knee injury. Ben had a minor injury to his knee and how well did he play yesterday? He wasn't as good as Joe, he threw 4 balls that should have been interceptions, our defense just can't catch, and until we went into prevent zone with a 21 - 0 lead Ben could do nothing. I was there when the 2000 Ravens defense got us a super bowl after no TD's after 5 games and I was there in 2012 when the defense got us into the playoffs where Flacco shined. Looked at Flacco's stats. This is who he is, who he has always been except for when he is in the playoffs. We have always leaned on our defense. If our defense gets there and Flacco comes alive in the playoffs, I can see you bandwagon fans just piling on.

the Ravens have the backs to run the ball, if they decide to do it. They will not win consistently unless they RUN THE BALL,. Anyone should know that Joe Flacco cannot carry this team on his back.

They did try to run it more this time but got stoped on most plays. We lost yards on many run plays. The problem is that we need to start run the ball effectively.

You are absolutely right. Flacco is far from "elite". His play right now is a detriment to the team and Harbaugh won't sit him down, if only for a few sets to get his head out of his you know what. He has gotten too complacent and his terrible mechanics are still an issue. He is either too stubborn or too dense to make the corrections.

Flacco has the most work to do. But I am not counting on him awakening from his slumber. Dude is terrible. Watch that pick, when he threw across his body, into a bunch of Steelers, meanwhile, a WR was wide open on Joe's throwing side. When you slide out of a collapsing pocket, it's supposed to give you time to look elsewhere. But Joe, like a dumb JUCO freshman QB, keeps his eyes fixated on Pitta, then gives the Steelers a freebie. That was at least 3 points that Joe took a poo on. The saddest part about it is that Joe ain't going anywhere, and Mallett is DEFINITELY not the answer. Shame

Ya man. I get Harbs saying that, as he's just saying the same old coach speak lines. But it'd be nice if Flacco actually said: "You know. I am disappointed, especially in myself. This is my offense, and I need flat out stop sucking, and play like a starting QB for the Baltimore Ravens!"

You're actually pretty dead on. I always had Flacco's back. Not anymore though. However, I am a Ravens fan, and I will always pull for them. But if it walks like a duck, I'll call it a duck. And Joe is a duck. I hope he does get better, but I do not have confidence in him. And if...IF, they make the playoffs; I can't see Joe suddenly getting better. Not this time. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes- Flacco has got to get rid of the 'we' bit. That has been getting old.

I totally agree with you fusuymada..... I am probably only one of very few right now, but I am still not going to throw Joe under a bus. Up until this season, he has given all he has to this team for 8 years, several playoff wins, a Super Bowl win, and has virtually kept us in most every game along the way these last 8 years. Even last year, he did everything you could ask of a QB, scored enough points in most games to win, but it was the defense that let us down in those games. And lets not mention the 2 tons of season-ending injuries to half the team last year. So this is the first year Joe is not doing well, and I am sure HIS season-ending injury has nothing to do with it (just a little sarcasm)..... I don't understand how one year out of nine, so many fans are wanting Joe gone, or wished he had torn his knee again yesterday, or any other number of derogatory sentiments toward him. He just doesn't deserve the nasty vitriol, and I don't think any other player or coach of ours deserves it either.....

Always great beating the Steelers no matter how it gets done. I want to see some O line improvement this Thursday. It's the clowns after all... I expect the Ravens to put up a 40 points

Doubt it. It's the Ravens way to make every game close. That's who were are. I wish one game l could feel comfortable watching a game by just blowing out a team.

Good to hear that despite the win team isn't blinded by it. A lot of issues to fix. Almost all of them on the offensive side though.

The only thing from the defensive side is, that it would be nice to see even some edge rush. Also hopefully the DBs will continue the way they did on Sunday. But all that is nitpicking. Defense is playing lights outs.

The offense, however, let's hope they'll start pulling their weight soon.

Bull, Flacco absolutely deserves it. I'll cut Stanley some slack on penalties because he's a rookie however, Joe is a 120 million QB that has 9 years under his belt and he has digressed the last couple years. Most of his issues are correctable but it's not happening. That man has always thrown into double and triple coverage's or just throw it up and let his receivers "go get it". Flacco throws off his back foot a lot and that just happens to be his "bad leg", not to mention how he has no pocket awareness and will bail out before he needs to or not throwing it away before taking a sack. All correctable things but we keep seeing the same mistakes from him time after time. I don't want Joe gone, I want him to step up!

What??? "MCNAIR", the same guy that took us to the playoffs and couldn't score one touchdown to beat the Colts and win 1 playoff game? That "MCNAIR"?? LOL.

He can't help us as he is in the dirt ybird66.

Let's revisit this is January when the Ravens are in the playoffs and January Joe shows up.  Yes, Flacco has had a rough start after coming back from a horrible knee injury with an inconsistent line--But, I have full confidence in Joe to turn this around.  The division for once doesn't look that strong, so I think we can sneak into the playoffs.  If you can get into the playoffs, it doesn't matter how you play early in the season.

Perhaps Joe's knee brace is more of a hindrance than a help?

I would say the crappy offensive line Ozzy put together and Juan trained was more a a hindrance. I look for Browns to take Joe out. Which offensive lineman is going to mis the block again and cause that.? That is the real question.
