[News] Ronnie Stanley Explains His Penalties In First Game Back

26 posts in this topic

As bad as Stanley was, did you see what Hurst did when he came in as a blocking Tight End? Yeah, me neither and based on Hurst's previous starts, a bad Stanley is better than the best Hurst.

Not much of an explanation. His foot was sore?

Seriously do you think he would say something like that if Ray and Ed were still playing on this team? He just got beat by an old Pro. No shame in that but excuses..REALLY? MAN UP.

I don't think he was necessarily making excuses although the article framed it that way. I mean he was just answering the questions he was asked.   The title of the article makes it sound like an excuse more than anything.

I wouldn't ask for a better matchup for Stanley coming off an injury. You only get better playing against the best. Not Stanley can elevate his game where he "knows" it needs to be.

GO RAVENS

Seriously? How long are you going to keep up this Ray, Ed & Q thing. You know what all time tough guy Iron Mike Ditka said about those who live in the past (google it).....

The defense is good NOT great. Still NO pass rush against a team in sync Ravens would be burned all day. The offense is a joke. No flow what so ever. Going into the heart of their schedule still seeing an 8 - 8 season maybe 7 - 9.
Where would this team be without Wallace and Tucker. I bet Thursday night will be a very ugly win.

Our defense and yesterday our special teams redeemed us to a much needed victory. Now they need to forget about it and try to get a win against a hungry Browns team that is winless this year. We know we have the innate ability to win against the toughest competition and lose against the weakest.

Who cares if it's ugly or not. Stop griping. We won. That is what's important. Put your crystal ball away and wait til the end of the season to know our record of wins and losses.

I'll "gripe" all I want. I'll put away my crystal ball if you get your head out of the sand. Also what's this "WE" won , I was sitting on my couch no where near the field sames as you I might add. I'm a 'fan" not a player or employee. I'm entertained for a couple of hours a week then I either voice my pleasure or displeasure with the product that I watched. Again "our" record. YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE TEAM.

All the time, money, and draft picks put into this so called offense and the best they can do is score one TD on ONE play. Other than that, they did nothing. Defense and special teams won the game. Any team that thinks it can win without scoring from the offense better look at the rest of the NFL. Flacco is playing horribly. His mechanics still suck and he either can't or won't correct them. He has gotten too complacent. This is his worst season yet and some moron was telling everyone how this would be his "Pro Bowl" year. Right.

Jeez, it's his 4th ever NFL game. Most Left Tackles barely see the field in their first season. Let alone be the starting LT from day one. He'll get better. I'm just hoping this foot problem won't become a lingering issue..

For Stanley, it was a long lay-off due to injury. It was his first game back going against Harrison, who gets extra fired up playing against the Ravens. And the part of his game that was most suspect had to do directly with the very thing he is still recovering from; his footwork.

He is a smart man, a hard worker and takes responsibility. I bet he will bounce back better from his bad game than Flacco does. If you see Stanley's explanation as "excuses", then treat Flacco the same way, especially since Flacco is the veteran. Is Flacco's technique improving? Is he seeing the field better? Is he reading defensive alignments at the LOS better?

Your turn. Bring on the "explanations".

Sorry friend but I can't agree. If you don't think fans are a huge part of this team, you are sadly mistaken. There wouldn't be a team here if it wasn't for "us" fans. When you invest time, money and support in something, it becomes "We" and "Ours".

Put another way, you go to the bank and take a lone to buy a home. You don't invite your friend's to the banks' house, now do you?

Back on topic. Stanley did struggle somewhat and I don't feel what he said were excuses. He knows what he needs to do to improve and I have faith that he will.

I'll chalk this one up to rust but it's not secret he has to perform better and I'm sure he will. He only can get better.

not impressed after half a season. Decent games against poor teams, missed several to injury and then the fiasco against a 38 year old lineman. Not impressed!

Gripe all you want and voice your displeasure the way you please. I don't take it personal because that just proves how passionate you are. I do often disagree with what your passionate about but that's another discussion.

the "we" on the other hand is perfectly accurate when we use it. After all, we are all part of a Ravens community. We are the fans that pay dollars for this team to unite us. We may not be shareholders but we are absolutely stakeholders. And last but not least lets look at it from a distance. If we all like what this team is doing in the long run then this team stays and if we voice our displeasure and stop attending games or watching or buying memorabilia then the owners sell the team or relocate. We're all in the same ship together.

he's not a complete tackle like ALEX LEWIS is,we ran the ball better and gave up less sacks and hurries with LEWIS in there,STANLEY has to gain more streangth to be better, yes,a BULL RUSHER meaning HARRISON was much stronger then he was,too bad the RAVENS cut him,we just pay and pay against him.
