[News] Game Recap: Ravens 21, Steelers 14

Nice win Ravens. On to the Browns. The offense needs to get their act together. We have some tough games coming up. The defense should keep us in the game but we need more points on the offensive side. Go Ravens.

except for that one pass to Wallace our offense was pathetic. Flacco was terrible, the line was porous, and the running backs danced too much and went east and west instead of north and south. on 3rd and 2 we try to throw it. SPREAD IT OUT AND RUN IT!!!!

That's right haters. All your whining and complaining and they are in 1st place. You don't have to win every game, just win the division. Since the Harbaugh, Flacco era their record in the playoffs speaks for itself. Make the dance. And you do that by winning the division. This season isn't over by a long shot.

A win over the Squealers is a good win.
Great defensive game plan by Dean Pees executed perfectly by BWill, Jernigan, Mosley, Smith & Young (All of whom drafted by Ozzie in the last few "horrible" drafts...lol) - Use LB to spy Bell, double Brown.
Letting KO leave and using that money to sign Weddle & Wallace was a good decision - both making plays today.
Ravens need to find a good RB - West fumbles too much & Dixon can't get on the field. This year's draft is stacked with explosive RB.
Cut Hester & Juice. A returner that can't return and a fullback that can't block have no place on this team.
Offense looked better with starters back but still rusty.
1st place in the Division and a win over Squealers - today is a good day!!!

Chalk up another good game for the "D". It's hard to believe our offense is this bad.

Defense wins championships. Just get to the dance. That's the goal.

I am a big Flacco fan, but he looks lost at times back there, needs to work on his deep ball accuracy. The OC need to instill confidence back in Joe!

Always happy to get a win so- good job Ravens. I'm really worried about this offense though. They were just Bad today- and that's with everyone back healthy. Flacco looks like he's playing scared, there's no run game, and penalties continue to be a problem. All of those have been problems even after firing Trestman and having a bye. Halfway through the season, it's obvious that the offense just isn't good- at all. On the bright side, the defense is doing great. Just need to stop dropping INTs that hit guys right in the hands. That can spell doom later on down the road.

Offense simply cannot move the ball. Someone tell Joe Flacco you can't throw the ball off your back foot! Defense played well but looked tired at the end because offense doesn't give them any breaks

...we did much better, but I could see the game gradually getting away from us as we got near the end. If there were more time on the clock I suspect the Squeelas would've taken the lead. Why we started giving Antonio Brown more of a cushion late in the 4th qtr, Idk. That's how they started getting completions down the field. Had we played them the same way we did since the beginning of the game they wouldn't have gotten those 2 touchdowns.

big win at home against our biggest rival, defense was awesome while flacco and the"o" were weak as usual

next we got the Browns and we can't overlook them and give 1st place back to the Squeelas. We still seem to play down to the level of our competition and make things tougher on ourselves, than need be.

no excuses needed. flacco is the issue thus far. should have kept mallett in the rest of the game

Dean Pees gets the game ball for his defensive game plan! DLINE played lights out! Tavon Young should replace Wright permanently!

Why do we get away from short routes on O. Get the ball to our playmakers and let them do the rest. If the pass rush is getting to us then let's run more screens!

Either way great win team! Let's stack another vs Browns!

It just seems so odd, yet pleasing, to say that the Ravens are in 1st place. Of course, we will take this win as ugly as it may have been. One thing is for sure. With the way our defense played, we deserved to win. That certainly cannot be said in relation to the offense which continues to struggle mightily.

But a win is a win, and against the Steelers, it is especially nice to be rewarded with first place. Bring on the Browns!

And then we probably lose, because Mallett isn't as good as Flacco in any aspect of QB play.

I think that's been widely established at this point.

Game Recap....

1) Balance is the Winning Formula. 4 wins when Flacco throws less then 40x, 4 losses when Flacco throws more then 40x
Today- 30 passes, 29 runs. Regardless of 50 yards on the ground. 29 runs, kept the defense fresh, kept Time of possession on our side, and limited turnover chances.

2) Defense- Pitched a shutout for 3 quarters, and was pretty dominant then Pees out on his prevent defense pukefest trying to burn clock and giving up tds. Enough already..just play man up

3) Big plays, Wallace, Punt block TDs

Did you watch the game at all? Dixon got several chances and couldn't get out of the backfield. He sat out the latter part of the game with what appears to be a back injury.

That's 4 in a row against the Steelers. All of the hype around will Big Ben play or not play. It 's nice hearing Steelers fans blame their team's coaches. I saw a lot of long faces on Steeler fans.

Did the Ravens just win that game without once getting into the red zone?
How is this offense so bad?

Because FBAJ is the worst $120mil QB in the history of the NFL. Actually, he's the worst QB in the NFL, regardless of salary, in the last four years.

I don't understand how Flacco still has such poor mechanics after being in the league for 8 years. Either he is too bull headed or too stupid to adjust. Just like staring down receivers, his poor footwork throws him off balance and makes him inaccurate. If Roethlisberger had played the first 3 quarters of this game the way he did the last, the Steelers would have blown the Ravens out. He was just as bad if not worse than Flacco until the fourth quarter.

He might look worse than I've ever seen him since he's been in the league. Either he's still hurt and/or his confidence is all but shot after it. He needs to stop playing like a scared bafoon

"Six seconds with Mike Wallace" was nice to see. It was the only offensive TD so hopefully we see more of this to come (offensive 7 point scores). Defense had the main impact here and man if they'd caught all those interceptions that would have driven the score up moreso. The lack of offensive TDs is still the looming concern tho headed into future games.

A DEFENSIVE win.  I am pleased.  I only wish 21-0 stood up.  At 8:28 left we gave them minutes to produce because for some odd reason we cannot establish a running game even with the O line intact. Using only 1:30 of game clock could have extended twice that if we had a sustainable running game.

We better not have a let down Thursday night. It would be our luck to reach the peak of the mid season over these guys losing to a poor Cleveland team four days later. I would like top see that running game turn around starting Thursday night.
