An elite center, a good receiver, an explosive pass rusher, and one more very good corner is what we need.

We cannot sign bwill this offseason. Instead we need to use some cap space for this. Take chances with Michael pierce who has played very well. Go after a stephon Gilmore if he hits the market, or Michael Floyd.

The Ravens need to find a way to trick Moore into thinking when he's on the field during offensive snaps that it's actually a punt block team. He's lights out recovering blocked punts.

What drove me nuts was how often we actually converted great plays on first down to put us in 2nd and 2's or 2nd and 3's but still couldn't get the first downs.

Instead of running power and getting the 2-3 yards we kept trying these stupid unbalanced formations with 3 WRs to one side and Hurst in as TE on the other... and then we ran it to Hursts side every time.

Pitt figured it out the first time we ran it, and then we played right into their hands another 3 or 4 times.

Those were great opportunities to get drives going. If we can get 6-8 yds on 1st down that's a win all day. But then we out think ourselves and try these stupid trick formations.

Trust the backs to fall forward for at least 1 yd, get the 1st and go from there.

We did a great job on 1st down all day which was a huge improvement. But now we've got to take advantage of those opportunities. That alone will get this offense rolling in the right direction.

BC we kept running that stupid freaking play where we'd run the ball out of shotgun and get stuffed! It was so predictable and gives the runner no momentum. Just punch the ball up the middle with west and actually run downhill.

The Good
AFCN lead
a win against the Steelers is always a win
young players stepping up
Special team finally playing at notoriously high levels

The Bad
Joe´s lack of awarness.. he just doesn´t see blizes coming and keeps running into OLB´s lanes without throwing that ball
Coordinator´s playcall.. we can´t expect individual plays to pay off day in and day out (Wallace long TD reception, the blocked punt).. if we can´t get to opposite QBs with a 4-men front how are we supposed to force them into mistakes with a 3-men´s rush? we could´ve had Myles Garrett and Carl Lawson on our roster but that wouldn´t have helped much

The Ugly
AFCN.. incredible how young and talented these teams are and still find a way to look this ugly
Phantom penalties that could´ve costed much.. LG was head ´bumping´the whole evening.. I don´t know how you can let that happen

Disappointed that even after changing OCs we still are not committing enough to the run. I mean obviously the OL plays a big part in that, but you can't be one dimensional AND have a crap OL

I thought they kept with the run, but it just wasn't working.

Well we just beat the Steelers and beat the Browns already so that is 2

In 2018 we have the cap room to keep Williams, Jernigan, and Mosely. Which is what we should do. They're the foundation. You keep the foundation. If you make a few key cuts here and there we still have cap room. This center FA class is piss poor, you're not gonna find a pass rusher in FA so forget about it, and we're likely to go pick up a vet WR. And most teams don't let their corners go.

Building this through FA isn't gonna be an option. You keep what's good

Oh yeah. But he was mostly solid for the rest of the game. So it's okay. He still seems a bit uncomfortable

Well Pittsburgh has been ranked as one of the top teams in the league by several media outlets so I would say yes. Obviously we've shown we can hang with anybody...putting them away and getting the W is a different story though. But yes we can beat any team on any given Sunday. And we're getting hot and healthy at just the right time.

The good: Ravens defense was outstanding for 3 quarters.

The bad: Penalties, once again killing drives, changing field position.

The ugly: Anything from Tampa, especially the Tampa 2.

To add on, even with how good Wentz has been the Eagles aren't invincible. We can beat them them as well. Those are 5 winnable games.

That was ALL on him. It would have been 1st and goal the play before but stupid penalty backs us up and the very next play Joe throws the pick.

Why did they get away from Perriman?  He beat Burns for a TD that Flacco missed and then was very good in the last possession of the first half. Don't think he even go tin much in the 2nd half.

We did similarly against the Giants as the Eagles and the Cowboys lost to the Giants at home so that means we could beat them too. I guess that just leaves Miami and New England

Wentz struggled a bit today with 2 early picks, maybe teams are starting to figure him out a bit

Not afraid of Miami in the slightest TBH. New England and Dallas scare me but we always play one of them really hard, and we're alot more talented than the 2013 team so I think we'd fare better against them than some think.

Any given Sunday is what I say :D. Even with Ben just returning from injury the Steelers still had a good offense. Our defense did phenomenally well and can hang with anyone.

Offense is another story lol

The Waiting for the Lightrail post:

The Good: First 3 quarters.

Bad: 4th quarter and Pees' prevent defense with 10 minutes left. We had a 21-0 lead, and almost blew it in one quarter. Whether it's offense or defense, coaching will be our number one issue.

The Ugly: That onside Kick by the Steelers.

I don't think the defense was to blame today, holding AB to 1 rec for 5 yards in 3 quarters is alright. And at 21-0 the defense look pretty feisty to me, until Ben somehow got rolling.
Imo a lot of the 'prevent D' we've seen this season has been due to small leads, where our D suddenly becomes conscious of every single detail. They think too much, play flat footed, hesitate and give up the deciding score.
If our freaking offense would do what they're paid to and gain us more multi possesion leads, I think our D could gain some swagger and become outright sassy.

Nice with a win after 4 straight L's, but man is it depressing to watch that offense - Smitty (and sometime T.West) is the only guy bringing some excitement.

Stanley has never loss a NFL game (4-0 preseason and 4-0 regular season). Stay healthy big fella.

Lol yes sir. Good luck charm right there. Although he didn't contribute much to the victory today but that's irrelevant

Yeah me either, I think New England is a team we are really looking forward to face though as well. Only time I can remember where we didn't come out against them fired up recently was 2013

That was when Wallace went out the game for some weird reason. Once Wallace returned perriman dropped back down the pecking order. But yeah Joe just missed him.

One thing that really pissed me off was the steelers roughing the kicker penalty, yeah it went our way but man the rule needs to change, it needs to be the same as roughing the passer

For the most part, I'd agree. It was more a overall observation about MM. There were stretches today though that I feel he drifted too far.

You have to let players walk sometimes. Bart Scott was the foundation. Chris McAlister was the foundation. Boldin was the foundation. Torrey was the foundation. KO was the foundation. You say we have the room to keep them all, but that will keep us bare minimum when we could let Williams walk and still stay stout against the run and use the cap space in better places.

This is a great interior OL draft class, same with pass rush and corner. We can address 2 of those holes early in the draft and then reinforce the secondary with a cb signing and make a splash wr signing. We can't avoid FA anymore because we can't fill all of these holes through the draft.
