yeah man i think hes gonna be a stellar pro, hes the prototype honestly, no concerns anywhere for the kid, and ive actually been seeing him rising up on mocks, so that is a good sign for him. after watching his tape im starting to think that many other corners are overrated in this class, i like him better than either of floridas corners and marlon humphrey, i still like desmond king but jones has moved up into that range for me, and i may be one of the only people here who like adoree jackson a lot.

if i wanna blank a receiver out of the game the way darelle revis does, give me jones, if i want to force turnovers by means of baiting throws and breaking early on routes then give me king. its a matter of "what could our defense use more" and i think that will change by the week lol, i likely wont be making up my mind between these 2.

What I love about Jackson and King is they can solve 2 of our problems in one pick as they are both great returners. They also have proven ball skills which is one of our biggest problems in the secondary. I questioned jacksons ability to get picks but he's done well for himself as he has 4 already this year. The best thing about all 3 is their character and desire to be great, as they all work on the things that they stuggle with: King had questions about his speed so he started running in sand and Jackson has been working on his technique rather than relying on his athleticism all the time. They all keep good grades in school which is another plus for Ozzie.

After watching tape of sidney jones i kept noticing his counterpart kevin king. Hes got great lenght at 6-3 not many people are talking about him with jones getting all the hype but i really like what i see from him. Had a spectacular one handed interception vs arizona state

Desmond King from Iowa could be just what the Ravens need to put opposite Jimmy Smith.

I really like Desmond King in a hybrid role, I don't think he'd be bad on the perimeter, but I think he'd be underutilized there.

If the Ravens go elsewhere in the first two rounds (like o-line and passrusher), I'd like to get someone like Kevin King (CB from Washington), Eddie Jackson (safety from Alabama), or Quin Blanding (safety from Virginia) in the third..

This is November. He's got a lot of time to think.

I think this would be the best choice fot him regardless. Get another year under his belt. Next year will have a great safety dup though between him and derwin james

He's widely viewed as a top 15 pick, so there's really no pro to going back.

I think there is. Hes only a one year starter and redshirt sophmore. Maybe he wants to finish his degree. More experience and film will solidify his ranking.

He can finish his degree after leaving, NFL players quite often do. More play could solidify his ranking, or it could tank it, or he could have a terrible injury - you never know what'll happen. Like he said, there's lots of time to think between now and when he has to make the final decision, and I don't think anyone would be surprised if a consensus first rounder, possibly top 15, player goes back on what he's saying now and declares once he's had plenty of time to think it through with people hammering in the benefits of going pro right away.

Of course there are pros to going back to school, there are lots of cases of players declaring too early and screwing themselves in the long term. But you've gotta take it on a case to case basis, in this case in particular I'd say there are more pros to declaring than staying in school.

His tackling is terrible though.

He's not Gerod Holliman level bad, he's not THAT bad, certainly not bad enough where he'd drop out of the first

I'd say he's worse than college Elam.

Well that doesn't particularly surprise me, they play different positions and fill different roles in the back end. Nobody will confuse Hooker with a box safety, being a great tackler isn't exactly what teams will be drafting him for.

Not what I said, Hooker is definitely a FS and should play the back end as much as possible, but whenever a run play goes in his direction it's going pretty far.

I'm not saying that you did say that, but comparing him to Elam like he should be a better tackler sort of implies a standard that he - and other guys that fill his sort of role - really shouldn't be held to. Most FS can't tackle as well as SS, only rarely do they. I really don't think any run going his way would go that far, again I think you're really underestimating his tackling ability, I'm not saying he's great or anything like that but he's not a liability in that department, I have seen nothing in his tape that would imply as much. He seems capable occasionally hitting hard but usually he knows to go for the legs as all FSs do.

Ah, gotcha. No I was refering to the fact that tackling has been a major issue in the NFL for Elam, so for Hooker...

Hooker doesn't have enough experience, he should stay in for another year. Work on his tackling and coverage.

Mitch Trubisky has one year of experience as a starter and is now looking like the Bears QB of the future, if early rumors are to be believed.

Coming out, Ziggy Ansah had only really had one year of significant playing time (largely due to an injury). He was so raw in his sophomore year that coaches had to help him put pads on.

It's not always about the experience. Potential will outweigh that a lot of the times.

I think Trubisky's gonna be a bust. There's something wrong there. Though, as long as the QB Cleveland takes busts I don't care.

With the new front office, I think they go Allen.

Same.  I hope they go Allen too, that franchise will continue its irrelevance until they find a qb

With the way the draft is shaping up, there's a chance they may get Watson in the second.

Allen in the first and Watson second would be a huge win for that team.

Reminds me of the Raiders 2014 draft, Khalil Mack in the first round and Derek Carr in the second.

That's exactly who I thought of.

If the Browns are going to get it right, they need to be patient and not take a quarterback just because. They've got two first round picks and could get an extremely good DL first and then a great S/CB second, then grab a quarterback in the second.

Despite not winning a game yet, I actually think the Browns are headed in the right direction with the new front office they put together.  They have a ton of picks, and you can tell they're not in the "draft a QB and hope it works" camp like the previous regimes.  They'll be patient.  If there's a guy they like, they have the ammo to move up.  If not, they'll stay put and fill in the rest of the team.

I know LiT likes to rip them, but these Browns are about to start getting very good very fast here soon. They've got way too many high draft picks not to.
