So, an NFC exec said Adams shouldn't be a top 5 pick because he isn't a game changer.

Mhm, okay.

Adams? As in Jamal Adams? What is that guy smoking? By the way Adams improved his 40 time from the combine (4.56) to a 4.38 at his pro day. That along with his size, athleticism, impeccable tackling, and mean streak/leadership pretty much ties him for second on my ravens big board with Malik Hooker

Yeah this is an incredibly transparent smoke screen from either a team hoping he'll drop like the saints, panthers, cardinals or a team who's bitter he won't be available to them later in the 1st (maybe the team who thinks Landon Collins is a better prospect i.e. the giants?)

Yeah it was a NFL.com article. But coming out of college I actually like Adams way better than Collins. I never saw that the Collins was going to slide that far in the draft but he has made teams pay for passing him up. I don't see Adams outside top 5. I believe he is the 2nd best player behind Garrett in this draft and I pray the 49ers are smart enough to pick him at #2

He really never had to face any complex routes in the pac12 though. I mean all they run are about 5 routes in that conference. Slants, 9s, outs, ins, and curls are all he really had to know. I think he might have a hard time with more complex route trees at the next level. He's bound to be a bit raw considering his extremely short football career. His hips are great and feet are fluid but he's def not polished by any means. I think it just comes very natural to him. He's one of those natural athletes and that shows with all the sports he played in highschool

By that rationale each and every corner in the Pac 12(every conference, actually)is at disadvantage. I don't buy that as an explanation at to how he might be raw in coverage. Not at all.

Would instantly make awuzie and tedric Thompson more raw as well which is a little ridiculous - they still matched up against guys like john Ross and Christian mccaffrey who are apparently top 15 skill position players...

DJ Killings has been one of my draft gens for forever, he was one of the guys I mentioned in my Later Round/UDFA gems thread from a while back, I just looked up his pro day info, and man, he did great. 4.38 40 yd dash, 22 bench reps. And his teammate Shaq Griffin that was one of the guys that stole the show at the combine, said he was the leader of their DB group at UCF and is a genius in the film room. The guy is undersized at 5'10", but he's one of those guys that I want real bad in the later rounds.

You know folks, as we move closer to the draft, I really worry if Ozzie is going to wait to choose a CB until the 3rd or 4th round, given the recent acquisition of Jefferson and bringing back Webb. Regardless, tI have a question for all: could you list all of the CBs you personally feel have the traits/potential to be a #1 CB? I just don't want to see the nightmare known as the Jimmy Smith-less secondary all over again.

Marshon Lattimore

Sidney Jones

Marlon Humphrey

Quincey Wilson

Tre White

Gareon Conley

Kevin King

Chidobe Awuzie

Ahkello Witherspoon

Fabian Moreau

Teez Tabor

Adoree Jackson

Howard Wilson

Treston Decoud

Shaquill Griffin

Cordrea Tankersley

Des Lawrence

Damonte Kazee

Jeremy Curtrer

Up until Howard Wilson I think they all have some combination of coverage skills, ball skills, size/length and athleticism that projects to possibly becoming a #1.

Howard Wilson on have some traits or characteristics that can project but need serious work in some area to ever become that.

And then there's a few guys like Corn Elder for example who I really like, but don't see ever becoming a #1 but could be really good in their niche role, like in the slot for the Elder example.

And its seeming possible that someone like Witherspoon, Moreau or Sidney Jones could be around early 3rd where we get a guy who has 1st round talent/traits that's fallen bc of injury or inexperience.

I would actually prefer waiting to take a CB til the 3rd if any of the guys listed above Wilson are still on the board.

I tend to agree that we will likely wait till the late 3rd or 4th..I really hope we don't wait too long as this is one nice looking class and sometimes it bugs me to say when there is depth at the position you can afford to wait. Clearly there is value in both. But thinking forward Carr could be a 1 year rental, Webb I am not sure on but his contract could be year to year also. I really don't want us in this position of next year, Jimmy a year older, Tavon I love but not sure on anyone else, and I don't want us to feel forced to bring back Carr

I still like Rasul Douglas and Kazee.

I also think we need to add some real height and get an outside corner though.

If we are indeed waiting until the mid-late rounds to hit CB (I hope not), I'd dip back into the Temple pool and go with Nate Hairston.  Needs some work but I really like what he can become with some seasoning.

Never a bad idea to go with a Temple kid (well at least the ones coached by Matt Ruhle)...

Really like all of em this year honestly... reddick, dawkins, hairston, jahad thomas as an UDFA.

They will play hard, they will be intelligent kids that can get on the field early from a mental perspective... and regardless of size they hit/can take the physicality of the game. I honestly wouldnt hate if we went to the Temple well 1-2, and then like 4or5,6orUDFA.

Quick question for anyone willing to answer.  I'm the Ravens GM for a collaborative mock draft on another site, and I pick at 11:30.  I'm really considering taking Ahkello Witherspoon.  It's the first pick of the 3rd round and I'm not really a draft nut or college fan, so I don't have as much knowledge as others.  Would that be a good pick spot for him?  I've done some mild research in the last hour and so far think he has potential and won't need to be a day one starter.

If anyone is curious, the first two picks went to TJ Watt and then Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster.  I don't like either at those spots (personal preference), but wasn't available for either pick as I'm an accountant working in a tax office, so both were autopicked.  I really don't want them autopicking any more for Baltimore, so I'm determined to be around for every other pick

So i was reading an interview with Quincy Wilson on draftbreakdown and he was asked if he had any odd questions asked like getting into a starring contest. This was his reply:

"Nobody got into a staring contest with me [laughs]. I do have one story for you though. The Cincinnati [Bengals] coach asked me if I had 37 cents with seven coins, what would I have? I wasn’t able to answer that. I didn’t know."

Lol.....cant even do simple math....took me like 10 seconds to figure it out. 2dimes, 3nickles, 2pennies......some of these questions have reasoning behind it and they dont realize it

I would take Trade our round1 and round2 pick to get One of Adams/Hooker. Players like that come around every decade. There isn't anybody we could get that we couldn't replace in next draft.  Much like Ed Reed, Adams and Hooker are irreplaceable players. Especially Adams. If Baker were 6'0 he would be in the conversation. However he is a fabulous player with one weakness.Man up on big WRs/TE. I'm not rough on smaller DBs. If you can play football you are a game changer. Reed wasn't that big. Not was Polamolu and Sanders. This is a  Loaded Defensive back draft!!

What makes you think they're first ballot Hof players. Hookers only played one year of college ball

Wow. But hey if he's an All-Pro, I could care less about his lack of math.
