Skill position players

Honest question, do we have the worst ? If not, then who are we better than ?  We really need Dixon and Perriman to have a real impact this year or else we are in trouble. Stars are needed not a bunch of "OK" guys.

I think Dixon has been the biggest disappointment so far.  When we drafted him, I thought we finally nailed a good 4th round RB pick.  I would say his been actually the worst of all the RB we drafted since SB.

Guys like Judon though has been amazing though.  I guess you could call him a skill position player.

I think "skill position" refers to anyone not playing in the trenches on either side of the ball. A stupid term if you ask me, since the trenches is what determines how well the "skill positions" will play.

Dixon...it's a good thing. He hasn't had a shot yet due to injuries, and West has done a great job stepping up. Doesn't mean Dixon is a disappointment, especially given our OL.

Skill position is any player who handles the ball.

Not that it really matters lol...but, are you sure? I've read plenty of articles over the years referring to DBs and pass rushers as skill position players. I just want to get to the bottom of this mystery. Regardless, still think it's a dumb term...

Decided to stop being lazy and look it up myself; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skill_position

They technically count as players that hand it, for purposes of turnovers.

What you said is correct about basically non lineman

No offense but thats kind of a silly assessment. He's only about 2 games in from his injury in which he only averaged 3 touches AND was behind a makeshift o line. There were certainly other bigger disappointments...for me its probably Keenan Reynolds or Willie Henry.  I also expected much more from Chris Moore- who has gotten more opportunities than all of those  guys combined and done nothing with them. His biggest play  was a lucky fumbled kick recovery in the endzone. On offense he's done nothing but get poor separation and drop balls. I still think he has a ton of potential too, just gotta get it together.

Only reason I'm even discussing this is because of the context of this thread -- it is the "non-skill positions" on offense that is bringing this team down. I think we're okay, if not pretty solid, as far as skill positions go.

Well, just the fact that we are even "debating" what the term even means goes to show how meaningless it is...I'd say that being 6'4", 300 lbs, benching 500 lbs and still running a 5 second 40 is quite a skill in itself :)

This is the same forum that started a "Is Perriman a bust" thread after like 4-5 games. This place has become ridiculous.

I'm glad the fans don't run this team?

I wish we still had sigs.

I think Dixon has the most potential among the backs. He'll have a big game somewhere. I think West does a lot of things well but am still a bigger Dixon fan. If we can ever figure out how to properly run RB screens that's something Dixon excels in.

That right there is a big problem for us. We have rarely been able to run effective screens throughout any of our offensive systems.

I believe this upcoming draft, Ozzie will contact wizard and Sami when they are on the clock.

Yea,  it's sad.  I have no issues with calling out players,  legit concerns or criticism.  But the poster gave no reasons behind his view,  and if he can judge a RB on 6 carries and be right,  whatever he does for a living,  he's in the wrong business
