[News] Late For Work 11/4: 47 Steelers vs. Ravens Game Predictions

24 posts in this topic

Go Ravens. Show everyone that you can pull this team together. If Flacco can get protection, and it looks like he will with a healthy line, we will rack up the points. Okay, we haven't beaten anyone by more than a touchdown, but we haven't lost by more than a touchdown either. I am looking for Perriman to break out this game. I remember a game against the then St Louis Rams and Torrey Smith was a rookie who had struggled in preseason and after just two regular season games, people were labeling him a bust (people love to be quick on the labels). He then went out and his first three catches in the NFL were TD's. With a very weak secondary and pass rush and with a healthy Ravens O-line, this will be the game that Flacco can open up on. West will roll over this poor struggling defensive line of the Steelers and that will open up the long ball. Not only that, Wallace has a lot to prove to a Steelers team that he forgets let him walk and didn't think he was worth the big bucks after his rookie contract. Maybe he shouldn't be feeling so misty about a team that didn't want him. I am sure the first time someone that wasn't on the team with Wallace, nails him and knocks him flat he will find someone on the Steelers to hate.

The Ravens need to be concerned about covering Bell coming out of the backfield and catching passes. I am confident they can stop him at the line, but they have been having problems this year accounting for RB's coming out for short passes. Stopping the Ben to Bell pass plays are key. Also, look for the hurry up from the Steelers because the Giants demonstrated that the D is vulnerable when they cannot substitute.

I hope so, Ravens 28 squeelers 21

Well, it could be either one of those......nail biting, teeth clenching, palm sweating, stomach turning, back tightening, tums eating, scratching my head, yelling at the TV, cursing under my breath and on the edge of my seat games.:gaah: Or.......it could be one of those games that make me jump outta my seat!!!(for good things!!!) Let's hope it's the latter!!! :sohappy:

I am interested in seeing the offensive line performance this week. All players back, but have they had time to gel again? I think having Ronnie back will help Joe's confidence a lot, and I hope this gives him a chance to air the ball out a little more.

with or without Ben, I really don't have confidence in this team. Only wins against bad teams. Flacco looks to have lost his desire. We'll see if getting OL starters back make any difference. Harrison will love playing against our rookie (injured already) RT.

The only way we win this one is if Flacco quits being a ... soft and stays in the pocket and passes like he's supposed to! No more of this dumping it off to avoid getting hit and no more passing off the back foot!!

'dumping it off to avoid getting hit"

Are you saying tthat you would rather have Flacco take hits in the backfield instead of hitting the check down.

as long as John Urchel stays on the sidelines the oline should be able to make a nice pocket for Joe

In my Madden simulation earlier this week, Ravens pull off a 23-24 victory with a last minute touchdown pass to Mike Wallace. Boy wouldn't that be cool.

As often as Joe has been seen throwing off his back foot and is not stepping into throws, that is an indication that he's either re-injured last year's injury somewhat, or has sustained a new injury. In any event, I'd say it's definitely a cause for concern.
Other than that, let's hope the Ravens can get back on track Sunday. Go Ravens!

Perhaps you would like to stand in for him and take the hits. Stop acting silly about this. Flacco had a devastating injury and it will probably be a while to recover from it. You would be a little shy I am sure. Good luck Ravens!

Just want to add that early in the week I had made the comment that if Ben plays I think we will lose but if he is sidelined I think we will get this win quoting the fact that with Ben out the Ravens are 6-1 against the Steelers. I was beat up pretty bad in the comments section like I had lost my mind, yet I have seen the same exact prognostication by many experts including those at Russell Street Report who predicted...

Vs. Landry Jones: Ravens 24 Yinzers 13

Vs. Can-Barely-Fit-His-Fat-Head-In-His-Helmet: Jerks 24 Ravens 20

If I am an idiot at least I know I am in good company and am not the only idiot.

For the Ravens, the season is really on the line here.  Pretty much have to run the table in the division to have a shot at getting in.  If the offense in particular looks as lost as it has the last two seasons, we can write off another season before Turkey Day.  I really hope Marty can find an answer, and get Joe back on track.

Let's Go Ravens!!

I don't relish the Ravens nearly always being viewed as the underdogs whatsoever!  Can't stand it actually cause it is that way due to how poorly they play.

At some point, I'd love to see the Ravens being the heavily favored to win their games.  Right now?  The Patriots is the team that seems to carry that mantle regardless of who they play.

I don't believe Flacco is soft. I believe he is a dullard. He still stares down receivers. He still has poor mechanics, often throwing like he is shooting a fade away jumper. He still cannot read defenses and change the play at the line of scrimmage. He played about as poorly a game against the Jets as he has since being drafted. Yet, Harbaugh, the other dullard, leaves him in to lose the game. Even after those two awful picks, we had a chance. So what did Mr. Elite do then? Go three and out for every second half series but the last one, when the Jets backed off to protect their slim lead.

There's nothing more important to this team than winning this game, no matter how it happens.

There's nothing more important to the fans than seeing us destroy them, beating them to a pulp in the process.

I'll take a win somewhere in the middle siding towards the latter.
