You're arguments are usually valid but this one is just wrong. As a Raven fan who attends games all the time from Toronto i always end up buying items from the stadium. You have to consider all the Raven fans that are coming from other states or countries as well that are eager to get official Raven gear.

As to your second point, im sure it goes both ways. Even Raven fans that live in the city usually don't drive to the game. Ive witnessed MANY fans walking or taking the train to the game.

Just look at it this way. Say there's 50,000 Raven fans in attendance on a good day. lets just say out of the 50,000 that 2% of those people buy merchandise at the stadium. Also lets just say they spend roughly $150 a person. That's $150,000 in sales right there. That might not be a lot compared to the revenue of ticket sales, but its def something.

1. You can get official Ravens gear from lots of places, most conveniently the internet. So while YOU may prefer to buy it on-site on gameday, I definitely don't think that's the overwhelming preference.

2. I agree with this in part. Anybody living in the city obviously can get there without driving. However, somebody taking a train still has to drive... trains likely don't pick them up from their house, unless they live close enough to a train station to walk to one (which most probably don't). When I lived in Northern Maryland, I would drive to the Owings Mills metro station and take that to the stadium... but I still have an hour drive to and from the train station. If we were to assume (and this might be a stretch) that at least the majority of game attenders are at least moderately responsible enough to not get completely plowed and then drive, most people will drink considerately less when they have to get behind a wheel. Note I didn't say EVERYBODY does this, because I'm not that naive.

3. I mean I guess. $150K for at most 10 games is roughly $1.5M in merchandise a year sold on-site, which is just a tiny fraction of overall merchandise sales. I think they may even do more than that, but also not sure that the average sale price is $150 per person either.

“Do these guys have a legitimate point or are they just bitter old Ravens who never beat Ben in a big game?". What?!!! I'm pretty sure 2014 Playoffs Wild Card game (30 - 17 win for the Ravens) was a "big game" and Roethlisberger was under center, no? Stupid statements usually don't deserve responses but I had to just so that we don't get too carried away with nonsense.

Bo Smolka @bsmolka
This is the time each year I point out that the #Steelers drafted Antonio Brown 1 pick after Ravens drafted OL Ramon Harewood #RavensTalk

^^^^ OUCH!!!!

Someone staple this memo to Ozzie's desk so he can correct his WR drafting strategies. It would be nice if he could draft a true WR #1 at least once before he leaves his post.

Ravens tend to play with more spirit against the Steelers because the rivalry gives them impetus to perform. If only Harbaugh could find a way to get them to duplicate this effort against other teams I won't be calling for his head as much as I do.

is a diva, anytime you keep hitting him and get him down he quits.period.

Who quits?  I've never seen #7 quit.  I was at the game when Ngata broke his nose, dude set it on the sideline and went back in and won the damn game.  He's probably the toughest QB playing right now.  Diva - I'll leave that name for Brady!!!

Not to burst your bubble, but neither BIllick or Scott were with the team in 2014.

I've watched his antics for 13 yrs. He is a drama queen period. He's always hurt he always plays and many times leads his team to a fantastic win yada, yada.

I stopped being fooled by his antics years ago. This is no hit on his talent or toughness. He is in my opinion the #2 QB in the NFL. His credentials as a human being are suspect but; QB skills are scary real.

He wants to be the hero and he wants to make sure everybody knows it. He's a diva.
