Ravens Autographs

17 posts in this topic

I'm not really sure where to post this, so I'll put it right here since I see some similar-ish threads in here.

I am going to be going to the Ravens-Steelers this Sunday for my first game (super stoked) and my girlfriend and I would like to get the signatures of Steve Smith Sr. and Jimmy Smith, respectively.

I went to a Falcons-Redskins game several years ago (2012) and we got a bunch of signatures and pictures by going to the tunnel by the Falcons locker room and just waiting for players to go in and out. We just tied a sharpie to a string and lowered it down with his jersey.

Is that going to be the best way to do it at M&T or what would be better? I've heard Steve Smith Sr. is really awesome about giving out signatures, so I'm not too worried about him, but I'd really like it if we were both able to secure an autograph for our favorite players.

Thanks to anyone who has any info.

On the south side of the stadium is the player entrance/exit and parking lot.  If you wait outside there after the game, odds are good you can get some autographs.

Is there any place before the game? Like would doing the tunnel onto the field before the game be a possibility?

And how quickly do you have to get out to the player entrance/exit?

You've reached the limit of my experience.  I'm not an autograph seeker.  I know other members have waited there and got some, so here's hoping they'll check in.

I only want this single autograph and I'd be super content. My girlfriend was asking if we should get like a football and all this other stuff to sign and I was just like, "Nah, I only want Jimmy's jersey signed."

I've heard from a friend who went to see the Vikings-Panthers play in Carolina when Steve was there that he was the first one out to talk to fans and the last one in and signed everything.

I hope the same holds true this time around.

Getting near the field to get an autograph is going to be dependent on the usher/SAFE.  Without a ticket for that section, they may or may not let you down there. What section are your seats?

526, I think. Upper deck, 50 yard line, Ravens side. What ever section that is.

My plan was to go in as soon as the stadium opened (if it's like the Redskins field, an hour before the game) and then talk to the usher/SAFE and just let them know what I'm looking for. When we went to the Redskins game, it was actually the ushers who pointed us that way and then just cleared us out as the stadium began to fill in.

I got Eric Weddle's and Brandon Williams' autographs from the South Side entrance.

Before or after the game?

People set up before the game with lawn chairs, I see them parked there walking into the stadium, if the team loses they want out, if they beat the Steelers you may have better luck.  To get the lesser known depth players, 20 mins or so -- or as long as it takes for Harbs post game locker room speech and a shower.

So, just to give an update, I forgot my Jimmy jersey in Blacksburg, but ended up picking up a Weddle jersey that he did sign for me.

My girlfriend got SSS on her hoodie. He was pissed because of Mitchell, but signed everything.

Jimmy did end up signing my scarf and he was really nice to talk to.

Question for any, but @Moderator 3, you seem to have experience with this, but are signatures any more difficult to obtain after a Thursday night game? I may come back after the Thursday game because Jimmy really seemed like a jersey guy and if they win and I had his jersey, I'd be hopeful.

I just got Jonathan Ogden to sign a football.  He was at a Dash-In gas station doing a signing for a grand opening.

Shockingly it was a free signing.
It looks great in my collection. :)

My stepson is an avid autograph seeker and it was a MNF game and he was bummed he didn't get one autograph, he lived in Steeler country, and they were walking back to the tailgate lot my husband asked him if he wanted a HOFers autograph, Ozzie Newsome was walking out next to them.  My step son politely asked Mr. Newsome for an autograph on a football card, and Ozzie asked to see his cards and he had one Ozzie didn't have and he had several, so he gave Ozzie the card and I think he ended up with several signed cards, thanked him and everyone went home.  You never know who you run into.

I think any time we win they'll be likely to sign.

I'm gonna head back up just to get this autograph on my jersey. I'll post pictures after Thursday.

115 is the tunnel where our players come out and at halftime and the end of the game, at the two min warning safe and the police line the wall so people can't throw crap or grab at the players. I'm in 114 and see it all the time.
