Big Screens outside of M&T.

19 posts in this topic

It would be real cool if they build big screens outside so folks w/out tickets or tailgaters can watch the game live.
I've seen this at other major sports venues and it seems like a good time for those who can't make it in.

So the stadium would be half empty so everyone could stay in the tailgate lots, drink "for free" with no restrictions, then drive off afterwards?  No thanks.

Is the stadium half empty now b/c people choose to stay home, go to the bars downtown or who watch from TVs in their car in the stadium parking lot?

Why would it be any different?

Maybe a screen that just shows highlights of big plays and touchdowns? Not really necessary though & seems there are several things where that money could be better spent elsewhere.

I like that idea. Dallas has big screens outside of their stadium. And the Cowboys still full up that place

Well, in their defense, other NFL teams do have something comparable to this, and I don't see them having a significantly worse DUI problem than the Ravens do.

Ticket prices went up for the first time since SB win this season.  And we are losing terribly.   If you look at stubhubs, the prices fell off dramatically.   No we are not putting screens outside.

First time in a long while i am actually worried we are starting to lose ability to fill seats.

We need to start winning and get things back on track

Stub Hub prices don't matter for the Ravens. Those are reseller prices... the Ravens already received face value compensation for those.

If we aren't putting screens up outside (which I'm sure we aren't), its not because we can't afford to or because the team is losing.

Its because the ROI on those isn't very good. Ravens don't really make much money off putting TVs outside.

Agreed. To add, the Ravens and/or tax payers would have to payout more for the additional army of law enforcement and security which would have to be present.

Idk we got a call from the Ravens ticket office saying the one seat next to us was open so we bought to keep a 'friendly' in the seat-- aka my son!

I like this idea too. Suppose Ravens winning or game is close when 2:00 warning time out. You can leave stadium head to parking lot watch the rest of game and when Ravens win just hop in your cars and leave.

Maybe if there's a road playoff game everyone could watch it outside the stadium.  Similar to what the Penguins do.

If the game is close you'll miss the rest of it by the time you get outside.  still not avoiding traffic because everyone now would just be outside, wh oh still doesn't make sense since your there to cheer the team on live.  If you wanted to watch on a screen, why even go to the game?

This is the only scenario it would make sense to me.  Viewings for away games and could actually turn a profit.

StubHub and whoever elese buys tickets would still buy the tickets.

Even now, watching the game at home is generally a better view with replays, but people still buy tickets because there's something about being there that's just a fun experience.

Why cant Ravens do what the Yankees did to their season ticket holders? You cant resell them.

Why would you want to do that?
