It's 4am where I am...What better time for Hn68wB4's First Mock Draft?

There is no rhyme or reason why I chose us to have the 12th pick, it's just the pick that felt right to me - that's about as good a metric as any only halfway through the season.

1st Round, pick 12 - Jabrill Peppers // S // Michigan // 6'1" // 210lbs

I think Hooker's emergence will push Peppers down the board and he'll fall into our lap, I'm sure he'll be highly regarded by our scouts and the Harbaugh connection comes into play. Peppers of course brings immense versatility to the table, he's played about a million and a half different positions for the Wolverines over his career and has been exceptional at all of them. Going into the season I wasn't a huge Peppers fan but he's started to grow on me. What I do know is that we can't go into next season without someone to man the other safety spot next to Weddle. Webb may be gone this offseason, believe it or not but I don't have a ton of faith in Marqueston Huff outside of ST, and I'm pulling for Elam but I'm keeping my expectations for him tempered. Peppers is fantastic in coverage, a great tackler, and he can solve our rotating door at return man as well, maybe with Peppers coming in Pees will get a little creative - a guy can dream can't he?

2nd Round - Sidney Jones // CB // Washington // 6' // 180lbs

Two secondary picks in a row? what is this madness? Jones is a fantastic talent and we benefit from the class of insane talent at the position. Just like we need to fix the rotating door at safety we need to fix the rotating door at that second CB position opposite Jimmy. I swear if we let this CB class pass us by I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive Ozzie. This second round pick is a prime trade spot though, over the past 4 years we've made a second round trade in 3/4, for whatever reason Ozzie has preferred to maneuver in the second in recent history, so we might see that again but I'm not going to try and predict trades here, too random.

3rd Round - Dan Feeney // RG // Indiana // 6'4" // 311lbs

We need Oline depth plain and simple, especially if we let Wagner go in FA this offseason. Feeney is a great guard that can be plugged in on a moments notice - if not start somewhere outright. Grabbing another guard gives us some flexibility with our Oline lineup next season. Feeney also gives us a guy to develop to take over for Yanda in a few years when he decides to hang it up.

3rd Round Compensatory - James Washington // WR // Oklahoma State // 6' // 205lbs

Thank god Atlanta still has both Schaub and Upshaw on their roster so we will most likely still get a pick for losing Osemele. He's a projected third and really I don't know why he wouldn't get us one, huge contract and he has started every game. Washington has great hands, body control, and speed. This is a guy that'll rise up boards before the draft, I think he may end up going as high as the 2nd when people start really watching him play. The guy just seems to be the total package out there whenever I watch him. The only real fault I have with him is that he doesn't look like a willing blocker at times, he can block pretty well but he isn't eager to do it. Watch his tape against Iowa State and you see it all on display. He'll be a welcome addition to our receiving corps and this is the type of guy we should be after, high character with insane talent and matches our passing game about as perfectly as any player could.

4th Round - Daeshon Hall // EDGE/DE // Texas A&M // 6'6" // 270lbs

Why wait so long to address the pass rush? well my thought process here is: we just took Correa in the 2nd, Judon has shown a ton of promise as well, so I don't think we'll go EDGE early unless we're making a trade or someone crazy falls into our lap, since I'm not predicting trades and I don't think anyone special will fall into our lap, here we are. Daeshon Hall gives us options with Za'Darius is he continues to disappoint. Hall plays opposite Miles Garrett so that obviously helps him but I still see a solid player here regardless when I watch tape. He can rush the passer and isn't a complete liability against the run. His length and athleticism will make him useful on STs in the mean time. As far as the first round goes, I think the 3 top dogs - Garrett, Allen, and Williams - will be gone by #12, Garrett and Allen are phenomenal talents and will go top 5 barring a QB rush (fingers crossed for one but I don't see it happening), we saw last year with Floyd that teams will happily overlook poor run defense to take a pass rusher and I think Williams is a better pass rusher than Floyd was so he should go top 10 too. Outside of those 3 I'm not a fan of the rest of the top of the EDGE class.

I'm just going to arbitrarily stop there, I haven't watched too much of the later round guys and it's a crapshoot anyway so I'm not going to go out of my way this early in the process to predict the later rounds.

I can guarantee Dan Feeney will not be there in the third round. He is getting last first early second consideration. Hands down the best guard in the class. But some names to think of would be there

Dorian Johnson from Pittsburgh

Bill Price from Ohio state

Johnny Capers from Stanford

Zach Banner from USC

What better time? How about 8pm so you get that prime time slot

Saw Sidney Jones today, looks pretty good although I wasn't paying attention to him outside a couple plays

I would have to say that Sidney Jones is probably a first rounder and I'd be highly disappointed with no pass rusher until round four.
