I just think of that one game he came back from being injured, (cant remember details) and Suggs goes to grab him for a sack, Ben shruggs him off and just gets rid of it

This is a must win game, if not the ravens will almost assuradly be on the outside looking in. AFC west is running away with both wildcard spots it looks like.

Not quite a must-win game, but pretty close.  I think the Ravens need to win 4 out of the remaining 5 division games (vs. Steelers, vs. Browns, Vs. Bengals, @ Steelers, @ Bengals)--which means if we lose this one, we'd have to got 4-0 in division the rest of the way.

Here is the path I see to the Ravens making the playoffs.  First-I think the Ravens have to win the division to make the playoffs...I truly think both wildcards are coming out of the West this year--Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs all look really strong.

So, here's the path I see---Win 4 of 5 division games (puts us at 7 wins)

Win at least 2 of the other games--most likely home games vs. Dolphins and vs. Eagles (9 wins)  -@ Cowboys and @ Patriots are VERY tough games

9-7 I think has a CHANCE to win division--obviously it would help if we sweep Steelers as I think they are a bigger threat than the Bengals

10-6 I think has a very good chance to win the division--which would mean winning the games above, plus stealing one @ Cowboys or Patriots (or somehow getting a complete sweep of the division)

Just to be clear here, these are not my predictions about what WILL happen.  This team is far too unpredictable to make any predictions.  This is my optimistic fan perspective of how the Ravens can make the playoffs.  Let's start this run with a big win vs. Steelers Sunday!  GO RAVENS!

1. Get the Oline healthy and commit to the run game. I can't stress that enough. Keep running even if we start the game off slow.

2. Joe needs to get the ball out of his hands quickly. Quick reads. Dink and dunk. Quick Slants. Screens. Be creative. We can't afford to let Joe sit in the pocket waiting to get destroyed.

3. The young pass rushers need to be aggressive. We are desperate for some resemblance of a pass rush. Blitz early and often.

4. And I repeat.... Start T.Young.

Right. But I think it's because the team is trending downwards, instead of up. Still a lot of football yet to be played though.

....

I would say I'm glad the fans don't run this team... but I don't think I can consider some of these people to be fans.

I'm glad the trolls don't run this team

Thats only because other teams haven't been  playing well though- not because of us playing well.  That's the problem. We might be able to stay relevant for a few more weeks but it won't continue to be  like that unless we start stacking wins.  And even if we did somehow sneak in due to the north sucking we probably wouldnt go very far in the playoffs ( with the way we've been playing right now). Unless we can get another motivational boost from a retiring SSS and January Joe returns yet again from the ashes. We are capable of playing better than we've played in every game so far- we just have to come together in all 3 phases and play smart disciplined football- capitalize on other teams mistakes- and just get back to ravens football. Stop making Joe sling  ball 40 and 50 times a  game and stay balanced- regardless of the flow of the game. If  the running game Is getting stuffed- put in the next man to try and provide a spark. Get creative. Don't just give up on it. Flacco is not flacco without a running game. That's just not him and it never will be. His fortay is thriving off of the play action pass. Use the tight ends more to give him some extra protection. And for Christ sakes get the ball in the  endzone when in the redzone and stop settling for feild goals. Use your tight ends and start throwing to bigger/ taller targets. I haven't seen them throw one pass to waller in the endzone. Throw it up and let him go get it. For the last 2 or 3 years we have thrown back shoulder fades in the endzone to some of the smallest dudes on the team. Makes no sense.

Another thing- Hester's gotta go, he's obviously over the hill and he's becoming a liability. Give him one more shot ( if that) and bring back campanaro, who can atleast provide his services on offense as well in the slot. It was a nice experiment but it obviously didnt work out. He can say its the injury all he wants- whatever it is its just not there anymore and he looks like a shell of himself. Id almost rather have ASA back there. ( bold I know) or just let Webb do it permanently. We're getting Elam back as insurance incase of injury so just throw Webb out there and let him do his thing. Ball security is the biggest issue and with the way every game has played out over the last 2 years being decided by one score or less ,we absolutely CANNOT afford a muffed punt and give the other team the ball in prime feild position- also further tiring out our defense after just fighting to get off the feild. There is nothing more of a momentum killer than that.

We really need our oline back to get the run game going and protect Joe better. Everyone needs to play better, period. Reducing self inflicted wounds is a close second behind good oline play.

I agree.  I actually am surprised we haven't already cut Hester.  I would be SHOCKED if he is on the roster for the Browns game (unless he does something crazy like return 2 TDs vs. Steelers).  I think after the Steelers, he will be cut and Campanaro will be added.  And if Campanaro decides to sign elsewhere, I think we ride Webb or bring in Asa Jackson

Hester is there because we don't have many other viable options. Webb can do punts but he's not explosive at all.

Let's hope the bye week will work wonders for this team. Ending up with a win or a loss Sunday will be a big deal either way for our season.

Kenneth Dixon, during this game becomes the hot hand and has a big day. He and West both set the tone all day and Perriman gets deep for a score.

Lets hope this "precision" Marty is talking about includes showing Breshad how to run routes properly. Both Of Joe's interceptions against the Jets were meant for BP.

Agreed, you are what your record says you are until proven otherwise.

So now, it's time to prove otherwise.  Get a big win vs. division rival Steelers this weekend, and we move from an under .500 team to a .500 team.  Baby steps!

perriman wont do squat apart from drop a few or do anything but make the big play.

however west/dixon could break out

we'll still find a way to lose though

True, getting healthy will help but not sure how you stop making stupid plays. This team is its own worst enemy and rivals the bad news bears at times.

I agree.  I was actually optimistic about bringing him in, but just hasn't lived up to any type of expectations, even if they were modest.

Can Camp come back in time for the Steelers game? I'd rather have him than Hester. I was all for Hester coming in, with the thought that he would at the very least secure the ball. Now that he's lost that, how much worse would Camp be. I'm sure he'd be better.

Cut Hester bring back Campanaro and shake things up Ozzie! Do something to get us started.

In that case, too much shaking can be dangerous for Camp's hammy.

I believe Camp can't be signed until November 7th. Also, at that date, he is open to signing with whatever team he wants to go to. I also seen that multiple teams wanted to work him out.

Well he says his hammy is 'shake proof' now!

as long as its Ozzie who's doing the shaking!;)

It very much so is a must win game. We have a better chance at winning the division this year with 8-10 wins than we do a wild card and we need to do that by beating our divisional opponents. If by some grace of God we can sweep the division that alone puts us at 8 wins and probably the AFCN title even if we lose to everyone else. Bengals/Steelers aren't winning 9 games if they both get swept by us. I can see an 8-8 tie between us and Pitt with Cinci going 7-8-1 and the title being left to tiebreakers which means this is absolutely a must win game.

Looking at Cincys schedule they still have to go @Cleveland which is always tough for them. @Houston, @NYG, Buffalo, Philly, and Pitt.

Our schedule isn't pretty either so these divisional games are a must.

we easily have the toughest schedule in the league from this point on. Also, we are away from home for 4 of the toughest. the chance is gone. I said that unless we go into the bye at a MINIMUM of 5-2 there is no chance in hell we're making the playoffs.
