[News] After Doing 'OK' At Tackle, Alex Lewis Wants To Be Back At Guard

The Ravens' rookie fourth-round pick held his own on the outside, but he's looking forward to regaining his chemistry with fellow rookie first-round pick Ronnie Stanley once he returns to the field, which appears to be coming after the bye.

Wait a minute...Alex Lewis played at Nebraska, not Colorado!

The O-Line has been our biggest weakness, along with too much PT for Perriman, too much shuffling at WR, and inaccurate throws by Flacco.

Maybe time to also move Urschel to Center, Zuttah has been abused lately, and caused Flacco on a few occasion to trip on his feet, and get sacked from bull rushes up the middle.....JMO...

I agree with a couple of fans on this board: Zuttah has bee stuttering lately. He tripped Flacco twice in the last game by getting pushed back. I don't think getting all of the starters back is the only answer, but I'll take it, because it has to be better than it has been. Maybe then they can run the ball better and create some play action opportunities. O linemen like to run the ball because they move forward. They go backward on pass plays. They establish their physicality on run plays, and which man doesn't want to dominate the guy in his way? Somewhere, KO is giggling and gleefully rubbing his hands together.

Someone said the Ravens reached for Lewis with a fifth round pick. I laughed. Alex Lewis was my favorite late round pick and Judon was a close second. After watching Osemele leave for Oakland, Yanda and Stanley out, now I know why. Ravens OL was the only unit I looked at and started hoping. Should the Ravens have paid Osemele and moved him to LT? I wanted to draft Conklin and put him at LG or RT.

How not to draft:

Defense:
Jalen Ramsey (#5 overall)
Myles Jack (#36 overall)
Dante Fowler Jr (#3 overall)
Yannick Ngakoue (#69 overall)

356 yards given up by those guys in the 1st half against the sorry Titans.....

Offense:
Blake Bortles (#3 overall)
Marquis Lee (#39 overall)
TJ Yeldon (#36 overall)

72 yards total offense in 1st half against a suspect defense....

Same people on here bashing Ozzie were the same people lobbying for those players.....

Only two of those guys I have seen mentioned on here and like Ozzy apologists say you have to give them a year. Draft picks are the tip of the problems. Ravens are in salary cap hell going on 4 years. We were told in 2013 that's why they got ride of a lot of people and yet Ravens still have the least amount of money in the division but finished in third place. How many years do Ravens fans have to wait till their allowed to request accountability?

I don't know what position Urschel is good at but he stinks at what he doing now.

I think Alex has done good enough for being thrown into the LT position. Sure he has made some mistakes but, tell me one person on this team who hasn't.
I will be happy to see him move back to guard as I'm certain he will be as well.

I feel Urschel is too small and lacks the strength to be anything more than just a backup. They should just hand Zuttah his walking papers at this point and put Jensen at center for the rest of the season.

We desperately need the original 5 back on the line, build that chemistry that we're lacking and hopefully ball out from here on out. It's not looking good as far as the team's performance at this time but I'm a loyal ride or die fan that's "HOPING" someway somehow we can turn this season around but I must admit I don't see us doing well as the schedule gets tougher...could be another 5-11 season and we're already beat up health wise.

Given the circumstances, Alex Lewis did ok. I just hope Harbaugh doesn't ruin him the way he ruined Michael Ohr here. Now that Ohr is settled in at RT where he belongs, he is doing well.

Michael Oher is and has been playing LT for the Panthers. He's the reason that Von Miller crushed Cam in the Super Bowl. He's never played RT except when he was here. Sounds like Harbaugh knew all along where he should play.

They are not in salary cap hell. Using all the salary cap on current players is far different from having tons of "dead" money on the books. We only have $5 million in dead money next year - way below league average. Ever done an auction style fantasy draft? The goal is not to have the most money left over at the end. Spend every dime to get the best players you can. Which teams always have the most cap space? - the Browns, the Jags, the Raiders. Where do those teams usually finish?

Lewis is doing OK, but OK unfortunately isn't really good enough. Not that I expect more from him. A 4th round rookie thrown into one of the toughest positions in football is quite the trial by fire. He's an upgrade from Hurst, but of course that's not saying much.

I wouldn't qualify him as the biggest disappointment on the line. For me it is Jensen. I thought he would be our starting LG. The fact that a rookie came in and took that starting job and then when called upon to fill in the role this year, he's been far less effective than he was last year. Of course, Zuttah has had some pretty uneven performances too.

The FO rolled the dice when they picked Stanley, let Monroe go and didn't bring anyone else in to back up the position. They put all their eggs in the Stanley basket and apparently determined that since he never missed a game in college we'd be able to count on him playing 16 games. That has turned out to be a costly mistake.

That to me was the straw that broke my back. You can't get shoved around like that. Especially when your the one snapping the damn ball. Iv defended Zuttah often but at this point, I'm not sure if he's any better than Urschel.

Lewis on the other hand is exceeding any expectation we had for him and I hope it continues.

Welll if you are just looking at his first four games you would be right to say he struggled and in one of those games he backed up on Flacco on two seperate occasions (that was the game he book ended by Urschel and Jensen). But of the last 11 games he has been rated as one of the top 5 offensive players on our team. And when Urschel did play this year and last it waos really ugly. Really, really, really ugly. People just remeber that one game backing up on Flacco twice and have some how convinced themselves that it has happened all season. That said his salary cap is high and he might be a casualty but if we went into the season expecting to rely on Urschel it would be a terrible mistake. Urschel has been consistently terrible. He looks like he is on skates. Zuttah came out for one play with a minor injury during the Eagles game. TW was taken down in the 5 yards in the backfield because Urschel didn't put up any type of resistance. If Zuttah couldnt come back in that game there is no doubt in my mind that it would have been an L. Unfortunately being smart doesnt do anything for your strength or athletic ability.
