2016 Week 8 Other Games Discussion

143 posts in this topic

We will officially be halfway through the 2016 season with the conclusion of Week 8. So far, no team stands out as dominant and really any you can peg as Super Bowl favorites. Parity has indeed worked the way the NFL wants it to, how else can you explain the fall of the Cardinals and Panthers one year removed from the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl appearance?

Jaguars @ Titans: We need to ban the AFC South from primetime games until that division gets better. Jaguars Owner Shad Khan met with players and coaches asking why they weren't winning and what they can do to fix it. Something tells me a loss here to the Titans could see a ripple effect of Gus Bradley being fired and Doug Marrone being Interim HC. Titans meanwhile look to continue to improve under Mike Mularkey and Dick LeBeau.

Redskins @ Bengals: The Redskins and Bengals head over to London as the Redskins look to get back on track after losing last week. The Bengals meanwhile are trying to get back into the AFC North race with both Pittsburgh and Baltimore on a BYE. Can Josh Norman shut down AJ Green or will AJ Green still make crazy catches despite Josh Norman?

Chiefs @ Colts: The AFC West is a 3 team race and the Chiefs look for a win to stay in the hunt with the Raiders and Broncos. The Colts have fallen apart and who knows if Chuck Pagano will make it through the year as Head Coach. Luck's prime is being wasted on a bad team, Colts need a win to stay in the track of the Texans and their $72M mistake.

Raiders @ Bucs: The Raiders are 4-0 on the road, and could very well be 5-0 after another road victory against the Buccaneers. The NFC South is another crazy division and a win over Oakland and a loss by the Falcons puts the Bucs in the driver seat in the NFC South. Which young QB will shine more in the Florida Sun, Derek Carr or Jameis Winston?

Seahawks @ Saints: Coming off a tie with the Cardinals, the Seahawks travel to New Orleans to get in the win column. Saints are 2-4 and need a win at home to start a playoff push before it's too late. Seattle's offensive line is their biggest weakness but the lack of defense for the Saints should provide the Seahawks a little more offense than it had against Arizona.

Lions @ Texans: Wanna throw $72M down the toilet? Don't worry, the Texans have already done that with the terrible contract of Brock Osweiler. Yes, the Texans are better positioned to win but if Osweiler crumbles the rest of the way like he did against Denver, the Texans season is over. The Lions meanwhile are right in the thick of the NFC North battle and playoff battle in the NFC. Lions are looking for a huge road win to stay in the playoff hunt.

Jets @ Browns: With Ryan Fitzpatrick back under center for the Jets, their chances of a franchise QB will go down as he will win them more games and put them out of reach. The Browns will be halfway to 0-16 with another loss but for as competitive as they have been, they could shock people and win on any given Sunday.

Patriots @ Bills: The Buffalo Bills have turned things around since losing to the Jets, they even beat the Patriots in a shutout. Now Brady is playing and can the Bills shutout a Tom Brady led Patriots offense? This is the Bills Super Bowl, win this and sweep the Pats will give them the inside track to the AFC East down the line. If the Patriots win, the division will continue to remain in control of New England.

Cardinals @ Panthers: Boy.... remember when this game was a game to look forward to when the schedule came out? Yeah, me too. Both teams are in a down wind spiral since last season, letting Josh Norman go was a huge mistake. Will Michael Floyd turn things around against a bad Carolina secondary or did the BYE give Carolina time to learn from the early going and turn things around?

Chargers @ Broncos: Don't look now but the San Diego Chargers are closing in on making the AFC West the most competitive division in the NFL. At 3-4, the Chargers are only a Broncos sweep away from turning this division into anyone's race. Now if the Raiders and Chiefs lose, coupled with a Chargers win, through 8 weeks all 4 AFC West Teams will be in contention.

Packers @ Falcons: A huge NFC Playoff deciding game will take place in Atlanta on Sunday. Potential seeding is on the line as the Packers travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons. Falcons have taken control of the NFC South while the Packers look to stay on the heels of the Vikings in the NFC North.

Eagles @ Cowboys: The Rookie QB Matchup everyone was waiting for since the draft. Carson Wentz vs Dak Prescott, a battle of the top 2.... never mind. A Surprising rookie QB battle as Wentz and the Eagles look to keep on rolling against a 5-1 Cowboys team who will have to make a huge decision on Tony Romo coming up.

Vikings @ Bears: So Brian Hoyer broke his arm, and it's back to Jay Cutler for the Chicago Bears. The Vikings come off their first loss of the season against the Eagles and look to get back in the win column against a bad Bears team.

BTW, I agree we need to ban all AFC south game; Jaqs vs Titans are bad for TV ratings if they care.....

Why don't they show Hawks and Saints?

Gonna tune out tonight game....

I definitely think the quality of the product the NFL puts out is showing in every time they have prime time games. I don't want high scoring games off the bat but it just seems these primetime games lead to low scoring games regardless of TNF, SNF or MNF.

Yeah, I just tuned in. Jags look bad.

Titans showing the Ravens how to keep your foot on a team's throat when you get the opportunity to take and extend leads.

Gus Bradley getting fired after tonight's game?

Yeah I would say so, but since when did the Titans and Jaguars move to the AFC North? NFL.com Headline: "Jags Face Titans in AFC North Battle"

Yep, how it works unfortunately. If Tennessee can keep this up, they have a real chance at winning the AFC South.

Every win that Baltimore has in the last two seasons was barely a victory.

It is disheartening though .

Is it possible to fire a Head Coach before the game ends? If so, Khan may want to fire Bradley right about now.

The only thing that could have made this blowout worse was if this game was in Jacksonville and it was a blowout loss at home. Time to start spinning that coaching carousel again come tomorrow.

What a cheapshot by Ramsey!!! Glad he's not on the Ravens with plays like that!

Ramsey seems to have a bad attitude. I don't care for him. Maybe he's still maturing.

He's a diva in the making.

But he completely takes out the other team's #1 WR. There's no leaders in the jags locker room. I think if he went somewhere else, he would have been checked by the vets and tone it down a bit.

Looks like the redskins are giving the redskins some fight! I'd hate to root for a DC team but I'll make an exception today! (:
