[News] Ravens Trying To Speed Up Breshad Perriman's Progression

Those questions should bother him because they aren't fair questions, both of those interceptions were just terrible throws by a QB who was gunshy all day.

Why would anyone even implicate Perriman in either interception? All Joe.

Thank you

Why is it that we are on Perriman's case now. He hasn't played great but he is technically still a rookie. I think we need to focus on the elephant in the room which is Flacco's passing woes this season. Nothing wrong with talking about it because at least we'll know where we stand as an offense.

Agree. I think we do need to talk about Joe and if he keeps playing like he is playing put Mallett in. Can't be much worse?

I hope he can bring up his game. A #1 pick has to have an impact. The majority of WR's who are IMPACT players show what they have in this league within a short period of time.

C Johnson 750 yards. A brown 200 yards. A Jeffry 350 yards. L fitzgerald 750 yards. Dez Bryant 650 yards. That's their rookie seasons. It's not out of the ordinary that WRs struggle early on, especially ones out of the top 10. The transition is hard unless you play for a pro style offense and face 5 or 6 really good corners in college.

perriman is the #3 option on a team with a quarterback that's having a horrible stretch. Perriman will be fine. He has a solid foundation and his route running and chemistry with Joe will only get better. He's dropped a few balls and also made some tough catches. Just remember, you can't buy that speed if you wanted to.

Who knows? Maybe not. But those questions bothered Perriman.

Don't give up on Perriman just yet. Essentially he is a rookie, still learning. He may come back to haunt us. The question is why can't Ozzie select a quality wide receiver. We have so many TE's on the roster and are not being used or properly used. When was the last time the Ravens used three wide receivers to spread the field. I say this again and again, coaching.

its not the WR's we select, its the stupid routes they are made to run and the lackadaisical way they run them. That's why SSS and Wallace are our best WRs. They knew how to run a route before they got here.

Why do we always have to "coach up guys" or "speed up their learning curve". Other teams get rookies who go out and produce day 1, other than Mosley, we haven't drafted a ready to go first rounder since...since I can't even remember when. We need a change with the player personnel staff. If Ozzie isn't to blame for all these bad draft picks, then certainly the scouting staff we have has to be. And if Harbaugh has input into player decisions, Bisciotti needs to relieve him of those since he clearly has failed at choosing players and coaching them. Maybe he better concentrate on coaching and leave the player personnel side to someone else. I don't know what the problem is with draft picks, trades and free agent signings. We can't seem to do well with any of them when other teams are doing great.

After having a losing record after winning the super bowl in 2012, Bisciotti is going to have to make some sort of change in the person that decides who is or isn't drafted, who is or isn't signed and who or who not to trade for. I say make that the domain of Ozzie and lets see who is at fault. If the problem is corrected when Ozzie is in control of it all, then we know the problem, Consequently, if we still have issues and Ozzie is in full control we know where the problem is. I don't know but we have to find out soon and get it fixed because it clearly is not fixing itself. We can't win when we have players that aren't as good as other teams.

Finally, its hard to be competitive when you are paying a 60 million dollar qb 120 million dollars. He isn't good enough to make up for 60 million dollars worth of players we would have if we paid him what he is worth, not what he earned by winning the 2012 super bowl. Sorry, its a what have you done for me lately league and Flacco has done nothing since the 2012 playoff run.

Signing the woman beater to an absurd contract negatively impacted a lot of personnel decisions. Add to the fact that B. Pierce sucked it really set back the FO''s business plan to this day as evident by the product.

We should have kept Rice and hes no woman beater anymore than you are.

Don't forget overpaying Eugene Monroe and we had use our #1 on a left tackle.

Perriman looked great in off season practice with much more rhythm and coordination. Now he looks gawky and hesitant. The only thing that has changed is the qb throwing the passes. Mallet was throwing all off season. Perhaps it is time for a change to see how the offense clicks without Flacco. I have always thought Flacco has no touch or timing. He cannot setup a screen pass to save his life. No feel for anything other than chucking it to a predetermined location. If Flacco starts off with any problems in week 9 against the steelers he should be yanked before half time. There is no time to be floundering around with a horrible offense every week.

That's just not true. Reports say Joe looked great during TC, while Perriman was hardly able to practice at all.

The only thing that's changed is that now they're playing in real games, against real NFL defenses. Perriman's basically a rookie without a TC under his belt to prepare. It's a learning curve. I honestly doubt we see his potential until next year.

I really think that Perriman being on the field still after 7 games is a big deal. Many fans were worried about his durability. Now, he needs to improve his game, but so do the rest of the Ravens receivers. We don't lead the league in drops, but we aren't exactly instilling fear into the opposition.

Ozzy has the Ravens cap so messed up that by the time Perriman becomes what they hope for he will be too expensive to keep. Just learned Ravens will have 14.4 million cap space next year while Browns have 65 million, Bengals 44 million and Steelers have 36 million. Ravens are in bad shape for years. Coach John has one hand & one foot tied behind his back with lack cap space and a QB that the rest of the team thinks he does not care and preoccupied with his hug family. This team will get blow-ed up if it ends up with 7-9 record.

Seriously. Joe's made about 5 good throws all year. Flacco looks worse than I've ever seen him

More made-up troll drivel.....

The Ravens have $14 million for 8 players.
The Steelers have $38 million for 18 players but have to pay FA LeVeon Bell (think he's not getting paid?).
The Bengals have $40 million for 10 players but most of their O-line are FA - they are in a serious cap crunch because we know what kind of $$$ O-linemen get (See KO).

On top of that, the Ravens can clear an extra $ 27 million by cutting Dumervill, Webb, Pitta, Wright, Zuttah, Ben Watson, Arrington & Kendrick Lewis. Replacements for those guys are currently in house.

That gives us $41 million to sign BWill & Ricky Wagner (or let him walk and A.Lewis take over at RT).

I guess you didn't see Flacco led the Ravens to 2 x 14 point leads over the Patriots in 2014???

And Harbs, Steve & Oz have all said many times that the coach has very little input in personel decisions.

Impatient with Perriman?? I'd be more impatient with my 9 yr vet $120 mill QB who still stares down recievers, doesn't go through progressions, can't make pre snap reads on opposing defense to adjust receivers routes or change protection, overthrows, & under-throws wide open receivers, and still can't throw guys open, and just stinks it up in the red zone.

In this "what have you done for me lately" league, you tell me. What has Joe done? If he gets the credit for "wins", then he takes the blame for losses. Since the SB he is under .500 and even with an easy schedule, is losing. And if you want to blame the line play, even when he has time, he is throwing off his back foot, hitting his receivers in the feet or air-mailing TD routes. Personally, I don't think there is the motivation in him. You know, like the motivation someone has to win a SB. His Joe cool attitude is rubbing off the wrong way.....

Just keep feeding Perriman the ball! I watched Big Ben throw the ball to Moates habitually because AB was covered big time and Moates dropped alot of balls but Ben kept feeding him the rock until he got it rite! Joe has to do the same thing with Perriman but his main targets should be our TEs because that's whom ben will be hitting up against us! It's the mismatches and the TEs create that! Throwing to Perriman on 3rd down is too much pressure for him rite now when you should try hitting him on 1st and 2nd down! We're getting ready to BOUNCE BACK! LETS GO!

Has anyone seen him out run anyone yet? They promote his speed but then run crossing patterns. This is a STRANGE TEAM anymore. Very STRANGE.
