It is as bad as we're "making it out to be" and the numbers have been laid out to prove it. There is no judgement call here, it is black and white, carved in stone, 100% factual and not up for debate, the numbers are indisputable. The salary cap is X, the ravens current cap space is Y, cutting flacco costs Z in cap space. If Y+Z is greater than X then you have a problem, in this case Y+Z is so much greater than X that it literally breaks the franchise. 

What are you not getting?

What are you not getting?

Why not just cut a number of additional players so we can cut the Flacco? We can make X more than Y+Z if we try! Don't worry about signing draft picks this year, we can trade them all away to other teams for picks in the 2019 draft, and (like in Madden) we can get more value for those future picks (example: 2017 1st for a 2019 1st and 2nd). We would literally be golden by 2019!

 

Not like there's any chance we whiff on multiple quarterbacks with that plan. Or that the fan base would lose faith in the franchise who is legitimately without a doubt tanking for 2 years straight. In fact, it's completely sane to think people who work to keep this team afloat would agree if we drew this up and lay it down in front of them they would say "hell yes! Sign me up and put my name on that!" /end sarcasm

Sad this is, until you made it clear that it was sarcasm, I wasn't sure.  That's how some people actually think here.  At least your post made sense.

I'm down.  I would forbid the black jerseys for the two years we're tanking though.  Those are only for special occasions.

hes got a cuple problems and doesn't know it. hes talkin cut and his figs are wrong due to being lost some on  the trade angles.

theres givins. you know what I'm sayin?  joe is not a top flight qb. he just aint and he is 32 yrs old. when ozz paid him they really thought he'd win with any ball catcher.  clear as a bell now that is not the case. joe is a role player not a guy you build ya team around. and here are we payin him huge when the overall cap is small like hes that guy.  it cant go on. ya can't build ur team around him but ya can rebuild off him. second our team has badly gone south on over all talant. we got almost nada. talk talk talk abound signin Brandon William.  well we can't plain and simple. the free agent pierce more than fills the bill. these are the choices we must make to overcome signin joe and tradin him after those signins.  the third signin is one that will hurt but a trade lessens the pain in a cuple ways. we must get more talant and better pics. the plan to trade joe and rebuild on those pics and our own lesser record and better draff position will get us back to where we need to be in a cuple years. much betta than playin out a bad hand of joe limit cards.

folks think Antonio brown musclin over mosely and weddle cost us the playoffs. th e bangals had all their stars out and spanked us. was never close. we have a uge talant deficient with all the betta nfl teams. gonna take great moves to get us back. sittin on the 16th draft  position is not one of t hem great moves.

I like (hope) to think we would of played a lot more inspired football and beat them had we needed to, the loss the previous week was too demoralizing and players didn't care , it showed.

but the fact is joe is the right qb for the right team.  a team like Cleveland for example. they need a guy like joe in the worstest way.  and we need two number 1s for him.
