[News] Ravens Seeking To Find Killer Instinct

70 posts in this topic

I'm sure Harbaugh and Co. will correct the issues troubling the Ravens over the course of the bye week specially if our injured players return to the o-line. Harbaugh is a decent coach and will find a way to add the missing "killer instinct" to his team. "In Ozzie We Trust". Go Ravens!!!!!

"Killer instinct"? You have to know what you are doing before you can have a "killer instinct". Calling a time-out before a punt....and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Joe's shoulder.....stop the whinning and put another Q-B in there. Really they can hardly do any worse. Dumervil? The most over-paid do nothing player in football today. Ever since we got buffaloed with that signing it's been straight down hill. We can beat the Steelers but need players in there who want to play, hit hard, and have fun. Come on coaches, earn your pay, make the tough calls. Sunday was a low point in Raven history....although you could see it coming from a mile away. We draft horribily and have to live on unsigned free agents. How has that done for us? Yeah, I know.....God bless Justin Tucker. Go Ravens!

I'm frustrated with Doom too and I think the writing could be on the wall in terms of age induced regression, but we can't ignore his stellar 2014 where he nearly broke the sack record and him and Suggs tormented the league combining for the most sacks in the league.

How do you draft high character, squeaky clean guys and then expect them to have killer instinct? You want killer instinct? Excuse the pun, you have to get Ray Lewis (Alpha Male Dog) types.

And Harbaugh, has to let men be men..!

Hey Coach stop talking ideals and coach your team on and off the team to win ball games. First, you need to make better decisions on the field because you've a lot of room for improvement there. Next, hold players accountable for poor play. Great coaches are never afraid to call out their top players if they are underperforming. I see a very defensive HC in the pressers and not one that feels remorse for his own failures.

Do any of the Ravens coaches have the "killer instinct"? Maybe that is where the problem lies. I sure hope Harbaugh is able to teach his players over the bye on how to preserve leads and finish teams off. Otherwise Ozzie may need to fire Harbaugh at the end of the season and rebuild his team.

2016 game 4 through 7= NO MOJO We are unlucky.... New KARMA is needed. This article illustrates that we are in difficult and dire times. Any team that we play either at home or on the road can assume they can win. They no longer fear playing us. There is no fear playing the Ravens.
“We’ve jumped out to a lead and we give them an easy touchdown to get back in the game,” Harbaugh said. “That’s got to be fixed.” End Quote. How can this be solved? I think it is a problem that only coaches can solve. They have to instill confidence, conditioning and an attitude. That is what these guys need. These are not the RAVENS of the past. Their positioning on the field when a receiver streams by them is alarming. For our receivers, catches have to be made with arrogant confidence. We sure stunk it up against the 2-6 JETS. We gave them confidence and never corrected out own doubts. Joe should have never started. Mallet should have started and he CAN perform. The running game attains only 8 rushing yards? That is and O line FAIL. The Steelers will be in M & T inb two weeks and I can see them exulting confidence. Our coaches are to blame for these four losses as well as the dumbfounded players.

Haaaahaaaa the coaching staff is weak and so are players they drafted the last 3 years.

Dumervil was God in 014 because he had a healthy Suggs. He left the status for two years because Suggs and his own conditioning were faulty. Would you think he is past his prime as well?

Actually the last seven years or so have been brutal.

No assumptions for a healthier Ravens team can be made with the way we played against the two NY teams Our hardest schedule is on the horizon as well. We have to beat the Steelers to ascertain if a turn around can be had. .

They know they had problems with the secondary last year and didn't draft a corner until the 4th round. The Steelers drafted a corner & safety 1st and 2nd round and are picked to win the division.

And Ozzie better stop falling in love with the ROSTER FILLERS he drafts.

with the way the front office has drafted these past 6 years i would not put a rebuild in ozzies hands

Unfortunately I think they're both past their prime, but Suggs is a more complete football player and brings more to the table and has still been effective when he plays in ways that don't manifest themselves on the stat sheet.

I didn't read the article. Didn't have to. It's called playing 60 minutes. You know, something that Ray Lewis harped about. Remember him?

remember on 10/12 the article about how the change in OC injected energy into the Ravens offense? I guess that was premature like many of us thought. I hate to say this because I have been a big supporter of Flacco. But I think it comes down to this. We need someone at QB that has something to play for. Maybe it is true what his worst critics have suggested. Maybe Flacco has already achieved what he was playing for. Maybe all he wanted was a SB ring and a big contract.

Has nothing to do with effort or killer instinct. The most plausible explanation is that we aren't a very good team. Other team's aren't paying 22M at QB and getting bottom 10 production and efficiency for that amount of money. Other team's have made more effective use of their cap space/draft picks and in turn have a better chance at winning on Sunday.

Other teams don't have 4 different OC's in the span of 3 years. No more excuses, time for those responsible for the poor product on the field to take accountability. The players are busting their butts on Sunday, it's not a matter of effort.

10 Qb's are currently making 20 mill plus, 2 making 19 mill plus, 5 making 18 mill plus, 3 making 17 mill plus. Its a QB driven league BUT a team game. Most of the QB's on this list would be having a difficult task playing behind what well could be the WORST O Line in the league.

Great, we talking killer instinct in week 7.Every week we hear something new but nothing is done. We have to cut down on penalties they say, but every week same story. In the off season all we hear is players saying i am gonna have a great year and we get same preformances. With the schedule we had we should be 7-0 if we had the team we thought we did. Schedule is getting harder now and in week 12 we will be saying the same things. If we dont have the talent trust me, you can talk all you want nothing will change. when was the last time we had a easy win? I mean 4th quarter comes and we up by 20. There is no killer instict if you dont have the talent and leadership.

Enough with the excuses for Flacco. He's been abysmal this year, QB's that have taken more hits than him this year have outplayed him and then some. Matt Ryan is the 3rd most sacked QB in the NFL and he's still lighting it up. Andrew Luck is the #1 MOST sacked QB in the NFL and has almost 3x more TD passes (14 to 5). Not to mention a vastly superior TD-INT ratio (14-4 to 5-6). Flacco isn't even top 10 in most sacked.

Flacco has more INT's than TD's, want to know what kind of company he's in for TD-INT ratio? Case Keenum, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Blaine Gabbert. We're paying 22M this year for a guy producing in a company of the most mediocre starting QB's in the NFL and one of them outplayed him yesterday on top of that.

Killer instinct comes from within, from the head coach down. Harbaugh has to be the rah, rah guy, he's to placid, watch his brother. We don't need coaches laughing and joking in new conferences, like Pees, put him back in the press box. He needs to goes, the Ravens haven't had an emotional leader since Ray Lewis retired. The coaches need to get the players emotions going. You watch them on the sidelines, it's dah, what do I do know. It's what Harbaugh needs to do. I heard a couple of years ago that Harbaugh was getting burned out. If that is true, he should take a sabbatical. come on guys get some spunk.
