I'm thinking of it like this. A lot of focus is on the possibility of not having Rolle and/or Suggs this week (and rightfully so)....BUT...

Even without them, look who is still left on the field:

Ngata and Pryce on the line,
Ray Ray, Bart Scott and a very overlooked Jarrett Johnson at LB,
and Ed Reed, Washington and Leohnard in the secondary.

Clearly, this defense still has more than enough firepower to get the job done, and if you view it in that light rather than what we COULD have had, it will alleviate a lot of anxiety/worries about not having enough talent on the field.

Mcclain will have to blitz on third and long. Ben sucks when theres a tiny bit of pressure on third and long

I think fans expect them to be perfect. The way every one talks about the Ravens secondary you wouldn't know they had 2nd least ypg through the air for the year.

And number 1 pass defense rating. Why does no one use that as a stat for measuring pass defense? it's the best one!
