[News] Eisenberg: Sunday Not A 'Must Win,' But Ravens REALLY Need To Beat Jets

42 posts in this topic

If Far Below Average Joe starts, the Purple Kool Aid media will blame his awful play on the OL, the WR, the OC, etc. If Mallet starts and does well, all the aforementioned will be praised. As soon as FBAJ is gone, this team can start concentrating on winning again, instead of cowtowing to a nine year NFL vet, with an 83% QB rating.

Not a bad comment from a Jets fan.

Come on John, how can you say this is not a must win game. Every AFC game is a must win. A loss may not keep us from slipping into a wild card spot by the skin of our teeth but, if we want to win the division, it is a must win in my book. Especially considering the Steelers have already beaten them and hold a tiebreaker.

This is too a must win, Eisenberg, unless we're just going to play for a low draft pick. We are playing a bad team in disarray and losing to the Jets would put an exclamation point on our own mediocrity. We need to go into the bye week with a win and a winning record, not the opposite, because it's only going to get more competitive once we return to the field. IMHO the three teams we just lost to are not very good or at least very beatable. We need to win this no matter who is playing or not.

The Ravens need to beat the Jets, Dolphins, and Browns to get to 6 wins. After that, in our conference every game is going to be a struggle since we play the Bengals and Steelers twice. I don't see us coming within 21 points of the Patriots. The Cowboys' running game will provide a challenge. At the beginning of the season, I thought that we would end up at 8 and 8, but 6 or 7 wins is a more realistic goal seeing how we can't stop anyone in the 4th quarter.  I don't think that the Ravens will ever play for a high draft pick.

I would like to see us be competitive for 4 FULL quarters, the Jets have a great defensive line which will be a great test for our o line...outside of that, we should DOMINATE this team. This is a great opportunity to gain some ground in our division and take a game or two lead with the Squealler missing big Ben. It's a must win game!

If the Ravens can't beat the Jets, then what does that say about them being a team that can get to the playoffs? It would be the 4th consecutive loss heading into a bye week and two conference losses. After the bye they will face teams a lot better than the jets. It is definitely a must win.

Eisenberg is such a blind homer.

tell you the truth it wouldn't be the end of the world if they lost here on out because they could pick QB MAHOMES or CB-KING in the draft.but really because of BIG BENS injury and how bad CINCY and BROWNS are,we could win the division and go to the playoffs,so really, either way i'll be happy.

Hmmm, the Bungles are in total confusion & chaos, Burfect seems to have gone completely crazy and word is that Marvin Lewis is losing his lockeroom. The Squeelers are without Big Ben (and have a pretty porus defense that scares no one), not to mention that we were terrible last year and swept them. We have ALWAYS played the Pats close and are one of the few teams that Belicheck & Brady actually sweats over. Dallas has NEVER beaten us, even when they've fielded good teams and we've put out scrub players, not to mention that we have the #1 run defense in the NFL, so I hope they would try to run at us...

Yet all I seem to hear from local and national media, plus supposed fan's, is that this schedule is just to brutal and that the Raven's may as well start tanking to try to get a higher draft pick...and I laugh at every single one of you and only ask that when this team doesn't give up and keeps on fighting to win games that you please stay off our bandwagon and go root for some team like the Eagles or Deadskins, they'd be happy to accept wanna-be doom-saying cry-babies...

Totally disagree Eisenberg..its a Must Win. 3-4 going into bye with Steelers, Cowboys,Bengals 3 of next 4 weeks w/ Awful Browns in between. Then finishing 3 of 4 on road at Pats,Bengals,Steelers
So tomorrow is a must win or this team is fighting just to get to 8-8. For get the playoffs.

And the city will be more upset then it already is...at Harbs etc first 4 game losing streak potentially under him

if all the RAVENS players don't think that EVERY week is a MUST win than that's probably the whole problem with the team.

Yes, well said!

Incredible! Harbaugh's mediocrity, tip-toeing and let's-just-get-by attitude has infected even the media. After losing 3 straight in the fashion they did, and looking at the tougher schedule that lies ahead, if this is not considered a must-win game, I wonder why the Ravens should even bother showing up for games. I'm disappointed in this write-up.

John, if we want to muddle through a mediocre season by losing to the Jets, then, NO, this is not a must-win game. But any fan with a heart for this team knows it IS a must-win game, because we already know what a mediocre and sub-par year looks like (thank you, 2015). We the fans want the players to gel, no matter who is out there on the field, super-star or blue collar tackler. We want to see "fight" and unity. Not disheveled and lax penalty-damage and unexecuted blocks that are as important as the guy with the ball in a play.

It is a truism that a team grows closer in unity as they travel the battle-worn road through the season, and that can only be done with leadership and team members taking account of their own self-improvement, thus putting the team first. Thank God we have that leadership in the senior and some junior members of the team.

The PR gurus continue to state how many of our stars are hurt and thus put us at a disadvantage. John Harbaugh stated that he will change the way mistake-prone players are playing or find someone else. I have complete faith in that. But (you, the media-in-general) don't say that we have a pinch on receivers with SS Sr. out, when a guy the calibre of Kamar Aiken is his replacement. And our young linebackers have to step up too.

And, in the end, If we can't beat the 1-5 Jets, that's a clear statement by our team of what they are not ready to do.

All l gotta say is, do not embrassed the team and us and just win the game; don't matter how. Don't lose to a Geno Smith lead Jets or this team has serious issues. No excuse that they shouldn't win vs the Jets. This is a must win.

i totally agree. There seems to be a lot of bandwagon fans lately. This team is very capable of winning every game on the schedule. We just need to win this game and get healthy. Two division games at home after the bye will be key. I haven't given up, there's still 10 games left in the season folks!

If Joe isn't 100 % then he needs to sit! Mallet will show "EVERYONE" what this team is capable of doing even with all the injuries! I just don't understand why they are willing to let an entire season go down the drain and all they have to do is sit Joe down he can't move the pocket with leg issues now his "THROWING" shoulder is hurt and they debating about letting him start SMH! Every QB in this league is under pressure from D Lines around the league when brady plays us he gets the ball out quickly because of pressure Big Ben has been beat up by our defense Sizzle gets him and he even got his nose broken but he still finds ways to win but people point fingers at the O line because our QB needs the wall of china to be effective! I can't believe I waited all this time just watch my team go through this junk when all they gotta do is make the switch! They know if Mallet starts and win you can kiss Joe good bye! Yup! I'm risking being called a Troll maybe being suspended or banned from the website for my beliefs but I know it's what needs to be done! I can stand alone I did it following Art to Bmore so I'm use to it! I'm sorry but Mallet needs to start! Sincerely The Troll

They are setting us up for "Joe Flacco is a no go"..... hence the statement about Koch.

Nahh Joe will be good to go. Although I could see them pull the plug on him early if he feels any discomfort during the game or if he really starts taking a beating.

TYPICAL! When someone disagrees with you, they have to go root for another team. As far as I can tell, this is still America, and people have a right to voice their opinion. And as much as it pains me to watch an ingrate like CK make an Butt of himself, he's got the right. By the way, If FBAJ continues to play like he has the last four years, he IS going, contract or no. Too much pressure on Ozzie to keep this statue in place.

Eisenberg is such a blind homer.

Not too long ago, a Ravens team went 5 straight games without scoring a TD on offense....

Not too long ago, no way a Ravens team is going to beat Tom Brady at home, then beat Peyton Manning at home and then beat the #1 defense in the league, those teams are a lot better......

I guess everyone thought the Panthers would be one of the worst teams in the league and the Vikings would be better than everyone....Long season, anything can happen.

How is CK making a butt of himself? See that's the problem I have you some of you people. You're so blind with patriotism that you want face reality. So I guess you and the person that you replied to is telling us is, don't stop suffering just suffer peacefully, let your blood flow in the streets. All CK is saying if it's freedom and justice for all, then practice what you preach.
