[News] Tavon Young Is Making Plays In Ravens Defense, But Wants To Take It To The House

10 posts in this topic

Fourth-round pick Tavon Young is showing the ups and downs of a rookie, but leads the secondary in picks. The Ravens have eight interceptions so far, which has already surpassed last year’s total. With the turnover-prone Jets up next, the group is looking to take it to the end zone.

i believe young is better suited as a slot corner because of his height but there are cases where he could play outside when the opposing teams receiver is about the same size. i think this kid will be solid for years to come. hope elam can beat out webb/lewis when he returns because those 2 are not helping this team with theirĀ horrid play thus far. they need to improve and asap

Not worried much about his size as much as I am about his speed. He doesn't have a closing speed. However he is tough, smart and has great ball skills.

When he was taken out by friendly fire during that play with Beckham on the game winning TD, I see it more as Weddle running into him. The play was in front of Weddle. Young was rotating to cover Beckham who had cut right to left across the field. I think Weddle should have done more to avoid his own teammate/co-defender; especially, due to the fact that Young was covering the Giants killer receiver.

I don't hold either touchdown, while Young was in coverage, against him.

On the first one, he had no safety help over the top. Where were you Webb, I'll tell you where, you were out of position.

On the second, both he and Weddle got caught looking into the backfield causing the collision. Again Webb was out of position and was juked out of his shoes by OBJ.

The real problem here is Webb, as he was out of position on the Davis touchdown as well. Webb should just keep his mouth shut. He hasn't earned the right to make any comments with his horrid play.

Webb has one job as the free safety and that is to not let anyone get behind him. He has a 25-30 yard cushion and still fails.

Young was a very good pick in the 4th round. He has proven that size isn't always the be all and end all factor in coverage. I'd love to see him pick one off and run it back for a TD. Just don't fumble the ball across the goal line.

Ronde Barber, Daryl green, and Duane Starks were all under size but could make plays. Give this kids reps inside or outside. He needs to be on the field.

Line him up inside or out, I don't care coz this kid is special and we areĀ about to find out how special he can be. Just don't line him up against top ten WRs please. That's how a rookie loses any confidence he once had. And it all goes down hill from there...
