Maybe Joe needs to sit a game. The way he's been harassed by opposing defenses he may have his head in a funk about getting injured again. He doesn't seem to be playing with authority this year (of course, it's hard when you're running for your life 80% of the time.)

Don't think that's the case.  Maybe a few fans will be calling for Mallett.  Bottom line is Joe is our QB.  This would be 1 game.  Nobody in the Ravens organization is going to give up on a franchise QB based off the performance of a backup in 1 game.  This isn't Dallas where Dak has half a season of starts for the organization to consider....plus Flacco is WAAY more durable than Romo. *knock on wood*

I expect Joe to play. Hecsaid the shoulder is nothing, and Harbaugh said he is 1 of the few who could play without practice all week.
It looks like 90% of the Oline will be there as Stanley,Wagner are full practicing, so they will play. Gs will be Lewis&Uerschel. So Joe will get his best protection since first 3 weeks only missing Yanda.

Ravens cant afford 3-4 going into bye...this game is on paper a easy win fir them with Geno Smith starting and a 1-5 team.

Joe starts and go get this win. Oh and TakeThePoints

Flacco's durability is in question since his knee injury and now a shoulder issue that isn't allowing him to practice all week. When have we ever heard that Flacco missed a week of practice due to an injury? Never. He is older, has taken a beating over the years and you can tell in the pocket (and I will be nice here) he is tentative. Mallet's previous issues had to do with off the field problems which appear to be resolved. I think that it will be more than a "few" fans if Mallett comes out and lights up the scoreboard. However, you are accurate in the fact that Flacco is Harbaugh's boy and no matter what, if Joe can play this year, Joe will play.

I think with Flacco's age it is time we start looking for the next franchise qb in the draft. To get a good qb we are going to have to finish like we did last year so we can get a high pick. I can honestly say, if we go 5-11, Harbaugh will be looking at QB's in the draft because his future with the Ravens is now tied to the productivity of Flacco and if we do that bad, then it is possible that Harbaugh might make a change to save his own job.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mallett in the game, if only for a couple of sets. Joe has gotten too complacent and Harbaugh won't set him down. It might actually fire him up a bit if he gets it through his head that he is not irreplaceable. Anything would be better than the performances we have seen out of him and this so called offense so far.

Joe said the shoulder is no problem, and Harbaugh said Joe could play without practice.

Joe will have 90% of Oline as everyone is back except Yanda so he will have his best protection since 1st 3 weeks.

3-4 is unacceptable going into bye

Geno Smith 1-5 jets is easy win on paper no reason to give away victories Joe plays

Joe Flacco is NOT playing Sunday. Neither is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Advantage has to
be with Ravens, unless their QB coach is starting. Anyone is better than Geno.
Seriously, great move by Ravens. They have Steelers coming up w/o Big Ben, so
it's better Joe heals. Also, Jets D-line is angry and could have hurt Joe bad.

I couldn't have said it any better! Get well soon Joe and now I know we will here the O line is getting better is why the Ravens played better and the Jets had a backup QB etc but Ryan Mallet beat the squeelers at their peak with backups and I hope the Ravens don't call vanilla plays to make Ryan look bad and hope they give him a real shot and let him learn from his mistakes if he makes any! YES YES YES! I had Joe's back from day one I got too many squeelers that will back me up because they moving to my city by the boat load and they will tell yall but lately Joe isn't cutting it TOO TOO many excuses and I'm tired of the unnecessary finger pointing at past draft picks Harbs the O line the Defense CBs etc! Smh all but one and that's the QB! I'm not alone but we're out numbered by the majority whom think it's everyone fault but Joe's! We should be 5-1 because the old Joe would have got it done! What happened to my Gunslinger?!

It seems logical (to me) to let Joe heal, let Mallett play, head into the bye...then bring back Joe against Steelers because he should only need a week or two on the recovery since nothing on MRI. Just makes sense. Unless Joe feels 100%...then play him. But he's missed 2 days practice...Mallett's been practicing...Sunday is almost here.

I could listen to Marty talk all day...he's just got an interesting cadence. He's energized and positive. So was Trestman...positive...not bashing him...but Marty just gets me excited about our offense and especially when he says they need to play aggressive. That's what we want to hear!! Make those big plays...and I also am all for pass interference calls in our favor...hey they are almost as fun as receptions lol!

Am I the only one who wants to see Mallett play? He's got more of a personality and attitude that I like. Seems like he could spark the Offense.

Let's think 11-5 OK. The season is young yet. I know we have some tough opponents coming up but if we can get the team healthy we have a shot just like any other team.

I question where your info came from. MRI showed nothing. I never read that and if our team said it I wouldn't believe it. Who know Joe
might be missing his entire right arm.

What's personality got to do with anything. Silly comment imo.

Joe is not like that and you know it. He has no ego and certainly can never be called complacent. Where are all these silly comments coming from?

Prediction. They will sit Joe out to give him time to heal and Mallett will throw for 2 TD and 300 yards. QB controversy

Joe might need to sit out a game, but I don't see the part that Mallett puts up big numbers.

Predictions: Mallett will end up starting and the haters will finally begin to understand what Joe means to this team.

Honestly SMH. Joe brought home our second Lombardi and put a rest to a revolving door of QBs spanning over a decade. The man just came off of a season ending knee surgery, has been asked to drop back way more than he ought to, and has an offensive line that's leakier than a rusted boat hull. It takes a full year to come back from the sort of injury he suffered and last I checked it hasn't been a year.

I trust in Joe and I trust in Harbs. Those two have done far more than enough to feel secure in their job and I think it's time the haters take a step back and look north-west to a little town in Ohio where the Ravens roots sprouted and remember what true hell really is for football fans.

It was looked at after the game. And when I said it "showed nothing" it's, as far as I understood, "nothing serious". Joe's words from another article here.

Amen, brother.

There is a reason Mallet has been dumped by two teams...

I just hope Flacco doesn't start feeling some pressure after his mediocre start and force himself to play in Sunday's game when he shouldn't. The last thing he wants to see right now is Mallett putting up big numbers.

Here's hoping.......my marbles are riding on Mallet- and with a victory.
WE are about .500 win percentage since the Super Bowl. How many of us are going to settle with mediocrity and the same old desperate, oh my god- god help us, offense ?
Go Ravens! Go Maalox!

Mallet played in two games with the Ravens so where did these numbers come from?! One game lifted my spirits "ESPECIALLY" when I was surrounded by a ton of squeelers that I am kool with and they had a get together at the sports bar here in Cleveland Ohio! Try being surrounded week end and week out and you will see why I get so fired up! Not for the weak! WE GO HARD!
